The noise inside the his father's office caught Tae's attention. He's in their house — specifically in his bedroom, observing the notebook.

He quickly hid the notebook inside his bag & took his way towards the office, hiding behind the walls to see what's happening.

"I believe, this isn't your worst." His father stated.

His heart ached when he saw yoongi almost lying onto the floor. His face had bruises, and its surely from a punch.

"I can't believe I let you live in my house—" , "Dad, enough!" Tae meddled, even before another punch.

His dad took back his arm, fixing his clothes and acting like nothing happened. "Fix your mess, Yoongi." And left.

Tae immediately guided Yoongi to stand up, then sat on the couch. "You don't seem okay, hyung."

"I'm fine. His hits are getting weaker. He's indeed aging."

Tae didn't know what to say. Does that mean Yoongi always gets beaten up?

"May I ask what happened?" He asked while looking for the aid kit. "Nothing much. I just messed up some files he asked me too."

Tae sat beside him, quickly taking out some medicines.

"Just because of that? He would beat his own son?" He asked, damping the cloth with medicine onto his wounds.

"Taehyung, do you not remember? I'm not his son."

Tae paused at what he heard. He was frozen. Because he know he'll be suspicious when he'll react surprised.

"I-I forgot," he excused, and continued curing his wounds.

Yoongi sighed. "I'm mother's son even before they got married and had kids. Mom knew that he doesn't treat me like his son but she doesn't know that he beats me up."

Tae felt pissed, "What? You never told mom?"

"You should tell her! How long had dad been beating you up? She has to know this—" Yoongi grabbed his wrist and slowly pulled him down on the seat.

"Please, don't tell her. Because I know that she won't hesitate to divorce with your dad. That will be a big trouble."

Yoongi said with pleading eyes, and Tae felt nothing but anger and pity.

He's willing to endure all the pain just for the family that he's just a half part of. Its obvious that he's being beaten up since ages, but he decided not to speak up for the fear of breaking a family.

Tae had no choice but to obey him. He wanted to help him, but being quiet is the least he can do for now.

Tae noticed that Yoongi was impishly smiling. "What's to smile at?" He asked. How can he still smile in the midst of a problem?

"I'm just happy that you're caring for me again now." He started.

"We used to be so close when we're kids. Jennie even asked for a younger sister because she can't keep up with us. But when you reached 18, you became distant to me. That's maybe because father told you so."

To be honest, its hard to keep up with something you have no clue about.

This family is a big mystery. Was the real Taehyung that scary? Is he all poised and intimidating?

If he is, then the change is obvious. Because Tae aren't any of those.

"I...I just realized nothing will happen if I keep being distant. After all, we're a family right?" Tae flashed his boxy smile to try and lighten up the mood.

And he succeeded, he painted a smile on Yoongi's face.

"What are you talking about?"

The both flinched at the sudden voice behind them. It was Jennie, arms across her chest and she's giving them a suspicious look.

"It's a guy talk. Are you a guy?" Tae teased, and Jennie gave her a glare.

"You, you, you both. If I'll become a guy I'll beat you up."

She said and left. "She really has an attitude, does she?" Yoongi chuckled.

"What is—AH!" He cried when Tae pressed a bit hard on his wound. "Oops! Sorry." He said and carefully did it again.

With that little time of talk, he's growing more suspicion with his father.

"What is it?" Jungkook asked, not throwing off a gaze at Taehyung who just got in his office. He's busy typing on a typewriter.

"You're still working? Come on, its a holiday!" Tae exclaimed, lowkey putting the purple notebook in the shelf.

Good thing he didn't notice.

"Leisures will just waste my time. I chose to be a soldier to take care of our country, not to wander around."

Tae rolled his eyes, he appreciates his love for their country but can he not take a break for awhile?

"I know, but can you rest for awhile? Have fun?"

Jungkook did not answer. His brows were furrowed and all focused to what he's doing.

Tae went to see what he's typing. And he was just amazed on how he continuously types without any mistakes.

A typewriter is something like a computer. But once you typed something wrong you need to repeat everything from the top.

And maybe, Tae would now prefer a typewriter than a simple laptop. Because it enhances skills, and protects your eye from radiation.

"Just state why you're here." Jungkook said.

"I just want you to go with me in the central. I'm certain that it's a festival aura there!" Tae tried to sound a bit exciting, hoping that he'll enthuse him.

"I'm sorry, I can't. You can go by yourself or with your friends. I really need to finish this."

Tae pouted and gave him a judging glare. "You can save that for tomorrow, it's a holiday! They'll understand. Just please, please go with me..."

Tae tried his best to show all his cuteness just to pursue Jungkook.

But as they say, his best wasn't enough.

"Mr. Kim, I apologize but no. Should I call my staff to accompany you?" He asked.

Tae sighed, giving up. "No, thank you." He said with a heavy heart and went out of the office.

Just in time, Bogum passed by with Namjoon and their team.

"Hey, Tae! What's with the long face?" Namjoon greeted & Tae immediately shook his head & smiled.

"Nothing! Where r u guys going?" Tae asked. "We're apparently going to the central to join the celebration. Wanna come with us?"

Tae nodded. "Yes! I-"

"He's going with me."

Jungkook suddenly came out of his office, and Tae was never been so confused.

"You can come with us too, Captain!" Bogum said and Jungkook shook his head.

"No, it's just us." Tae raised his brows. "You said you can't—"

"Shall we go, Mr. Kim?"

Bogum was about to speak again when Hoseok did. "It's okay Bogum, let's just meet Tae later, hehe. Take care Tae!"

He pulled Bogum and left.

Tae faced Jungkook with a questioning face. "You said you're busy."

Jungkook shook his head. "I said that? I didn't."

Tae was was so excited. And the festival aura in the central is making him more excited.

Its been so many years since he's been in an arcade, and he'll love to see it again. Even if its a different era.

"Mr. Kim," Jungkook called. "We can't go out like this."

Tae paused, looking at him in confusion. They're in the middle of the way, it was loud and full of music — its a holiday eh?

"Huh?" He asked. Jungkook pointed at his clothes.

"It's okay for you to roam around with that uniform since ur still a trainee,"

"But not for me, I'm wearing a Captain uniform. I have a position and I think that'll sound disrespectful."

He said, and Tae thought for a while. "Its okay! I'll buy you some clothes. You can change in the rest rooms."

Suddenly, a fuss caught their attention.

They immediately went in between the walls of the houses since it is where the fuss came from.

"Excuse me," Jungkook said while diving in the crowd.

Once they got in, they saw a pregnant woman who is already in labor.

"Where's the midwife?" A random person asked.

"She's on her way, but I think it'll take time for her to come here."

The woman was crying in pain, and the women beside her were just trying to distract her on the pain.

Jungkook was hesitating, but he eventually spoke. "I'll replace the midwife for now."

People around them we're shocked. They were whispering and kept making sounds.

For Tae, it was just normal for him to see soldiers voluntarily becoming midwives. But he forgot that he's in 1894.

"Captain, are you sure about this?" He asked.

"Don't worry, I studied primary health care, I know what I'm doing. Besides, the baby's coming out soon."

The woman cried in pain. Jungkook quickly positioned himself. "Breathe in, breathe out. Now push!"

The woman did as what she's told, her face is already red in pain.

"Just a little more, you can do it!" Jungkook's already holding the baby but it's still not fully out.

It was a series of cries and shouts until they finally heard a baby's cry.

The people around clapped and cheered, it was new for them to see a guy doing a midwife's job.

And Tae on the other hand, felt like crying. Not just because of what Jungkook did but because of the new life that was introduced to the world.

The woman looks so tired and in pain but right after Jungkook handed him the baby in a blanket, she still got to smile.

And that's where his heart ached.

He would never understand a mother's love since he doesn't remember being a newborn.

But seeing how the woman was crying in joy while caressing her baby was more than enough for him to understand.

A mother's love indeed.

The midwife came and the only job she did was take care of the woman and the baby.

The woman and every people around that time thanked Jungkook. And Captain could never be happier knowing that he saved and helped a life.

"You're amazing." Tae cried.

"So, I really need to change. I have blood all over my cloth." Jungkook said and Tae immediately went out to buy some clothes.

He handed it to him and waited for him to come out from changing.

And Tae doesn't know what to feel when he finally saw Jungkook.

In a simple hanbok, like those other normal people wears.

He looks so normal. So damn normal to the point that he looks unreal. How can someone look like this? And he's not even trying?

"Sha'll we go?" Jungkook asked and Tae was out of his thoughts.

"Yes! Sure."
