Dear Erin

How are you doing? Miss you already :) Mum has been going on and on about you, she's your biggest fan. I've got the Puddlemere United practice at the end of the week and I'm a little nervous to be honest. Hope they think I'm good enough. I'll let you know how it goes.

I also may or may not have a very nice surprise at the end of the summer. But you'll have to wait and see, because I'm not telling you yet :D.

Oh, my N.E.W.T. results came in as well! Having a super smart girlfriend definitely paid off. I got three E's, an A and even an O in Astrology! Only one exceptional girl to blame for that.

Anyway, I'm heading out with my dad to the quidditch shop. He's getting me some new Keeper gloves for the practice. Owl me back and I'll see you in just three weeks!

Love, your Captain.

Dear Captain

Oh Merlin, I knew you could do it! Those are some really, really good N.E.W.T. results and I'm so very happy for you!

About that try-out, I know you're going to kill it. I said the same thing about the match against Slytherin and I was right, so believe me! You're the best Keeper out there and if you just play like you normally do, you'll blow them off their socks. Let me know how it went!

Things have been quiet around here, but good. Mum works a lot, so Benji and I have taken it upon ourselves to create a quidditch pitch in the backyard. I can use magic outside of school now, so I'm looking up all kinds of shield and protective charms to make sure no muggles see us flying about.

I really miss you, but it's just two weeks away when you get this. I can't wait to see you, but mum's present has really come in handy.

Oh! I totally forgot, why don't we try out your present! Sunday night at eight? Can you take your mirror then so we can talk for a bit? Can't wait to see your ugly face hehe.

Love you the absolute most.

X Erin

Erin had been sitting in her room, the mirror in her hand since half past seven, but there was no reflection yet. She had only sent out the letter three days ago so she really hoped that Oliver would get it in time. She couldn't wait to see him again. It was so weird going from seeing each other every single day to not at all. Next year was going to be a long year ...

The sudden shift in the reflection brought Erin back to reality and when she looked down, Oliver Wood was smiling back at her.

"Oh Merlin, Oliver!" she squealed. She really wanted to hug him, but hugging a mirror was just weird.

"Hello there, love. How have you been doing?"

"I've been great, I-" Just then she noticed what he was wearing, a brown quidditch uniform with the Puddlemere United logo on the chest.

"Oh lord, you did it?! Did you make the team?!" Erin shouted, excitedly jumping around.

"I did! I'm a reserve Keeper, but I'm on the team." Erin's mum entered to see what all the raucous was about.

"Mum, Oliver made the team! He's going to play for Puddlemere United!" Her mother laughed at her excited state.

"Congratulations, Oliver", she said before leaving her room again.

"Thanks Mrs Evans", Oliver grinned.

"So how is the team, and the practices and the stadium?" Erin wanted to know everything. She wished she could be a professional quidditch player some day. If only her father knew she was dating one. She couldn't help the sad look that entered her eyes as Oliver was telling her about his team. Her father had never met him. She hadn't even mentioned him. They were already dating when he died, why didn't she send him a letter about it?

"Hey, love, are you alright?" Erin looked up, not realising that she had completely zoned out.

"Oh, I'm sorry, what were you saying?"

"Not important, what's got you upset?" Oliver looked worried, but he didn't have to be. It was no big deal.

"I just wish my dad could've met you. He'd like you a lot", Erin smiled. She pictured her dad like he used to be. He would have loved Oliver, talking his head off about quidditch.

"Hey, look at me", Oliver said. Erin imagined how he'd normally lift her chin up slightly, rubbing her arm comfortingly. She was really happy to actually see him, but she couldn't wait until she could hold him again.

"He knows. He knows that you're happy and that's all that matters. You should be happy when you think about him. Think about how good of a dad he was, but don't be sad. He wouldn't want you to be sad." Erin nodded. He was right, her father used to do anything to keep her from being sad.

"Thank you, I love you", she said, admiring him in the mirror. He was so, so handsome and he was all hers. He had chosen for her and she was not letting him go anytime soon.

They talked for hours about everything. They hadn't that much to catch up on, but just seeing him again made Erin want to go on about useless things, just to have him around. They said goodbye around three in the morning, promising to talk every Sunday night. And they did, until the first Sunday of August, when they didn't have to anymore.

"Erin!" Her mother called for her. "I think Oliver is-" Before her mother could complete that sentence, Erin had apparated downstairs and ripped the door open. Waiting there was a confused Oliver Wood, looking around the neighborhood to see if he had apparated to the right address.

"Captain!" Erin shouted, running outside and pretty much throwing herself in his arms. He was with her again and she could hug him, finally.

"Hello love", Oliver mumbled, his face nuzzled in the crook of her neck.

"I missed you", she said and pulled back slightly, so she could do something she had wanted to do every single day for four weeks straight. She kissed him.

"Damn, I really missed that", Oliver chuckled as she pulled back.

"Put your wand away, this is a muggle neighborhood", Erin chuckled and helped him drag his luggage inside. He'd still have to go to quidditch practice five times a week, but he'd be staying for two weeks and afterwards, Erin would go to his place for the remaining two weeks of the summer.

"Hello Oliver, nice to see you again", her mother said as she closed the door behind them. She had been in the kitchen all day, wanting to have a proper first family dinner.

"Likewise Mrs Evans", he said.

Erin apparated his luggage upstairs, really happy with the new form of transportation, and then dragged Oliver with her.

"I'm going to help Oliver unpack", she said to her mother. Her mother had prepared the guest room for Oliver, but Erin knew he wouldn't be sleeping there for long.

"What's got you in such a hurry?" Oliver chuckled as he steadied himself. As soon as Erin had closed her bedroom door, she pulled Oliver closer to her and kissed him.

"Been really deprived of that lately", she said as they pulled away to catch a breath.

"Are you now?" he chuckled, pushing a strand of hair out of her face.

"Definitely am, so I think you have to make up for it", she grinned. Oliver smiled at her endearingly, just now realising just how much he had missed his awkward goofball.

"Well, that I can definitely do", he said. He gently pushed her against her closet and pressed his lips on hers. She wrapped her arms around his neck whilst he gently held her waist. There was no better feeling in the world than Erin's smile against his lips. He loved her so much.

"I still have that surprise, you know?" he grinned whilst reluctantly pulling away.

"Is it worth breaking up a perfectly enjoyable make-out session?" Erin joked.

"I think it is", Oliver said and looked for his trunk. He opened it and started searching. The downside of an Undetectable Extension charm was that things got lost all the time.

"Aha, got it", he said and stood back up, a white envelope in his hand.

"Hmm, what's that?" Erin asked curiously.

"This, my love", Oliver said, wiggling his eyebrows. "Are two tickets to the Quidditch World Cup at the end of the summer. Everyone on the Puddlemere team got two tickets."

"You mean ..."

"If you want, we can go together." Erin's smile got so wide that her cheeks started hurting, but she couldn't care less. She had looked up the prices of the tickets for the world cup, but they were incredibly expensive.

"Are you actually serious?" she said, jumping up and down.

"Sure am."

Erin jumped on Oliver again, hugging him tightly. This would be absolutely fantastic.

"I'm so happy", Erin merely stated, because she was. She was genuinely incredibly happy.

A/N: I've been moving a bit fast lately, but this book is nearing its end. Some things are going to happen in Erin's last year, but as Oliver won't be there, I'm going to move pretty quickly. Again, I'm running out of ideas as well. Hope you still like it though!
