A/n: Omg we're almost to 100 reads! Tysm!!

••••••••••••••
You stepped out your bathroom after taking a shower. Your mother yelled, "Food's ready!" From downstairs.

Do I really have to eat right now. You rolled your eyes and walk down the stairs until you got downstairs. For once, you saw both your parents in the same room. Your father was sitting on a chair at the table and your mother was setting the table.

You sat down in a random seat. It was a bit cold downstairs but it was only colder upstairs. Your mother finished setting the table and sat down. "Thank you." You and your father thanked simultaneously. You then began to eat.

Somehow, the conversation about friends came up. "Oh! Y/n has a friend I met a while ago! What was his name again?" She brought up Rin out of nowhere.

"He?" Your father raised a brow.

"His name is Rin- or Suna." You mumbled.

"Why a he?" Your father asked.

"Because he's nice so I talk to him."

"How close are you?"

"I dunno. We're just friends though."

"Do you like him?"

"No."

"I'd like to meet him if that's possible." He stood up, bringing his plate to the sink, "Has he met Kai?"

"Yes actually." You we're relieved he didn't go farther than that.

But now you had to figure out how to get him to meet your father. Maybe a family dinner?

"Mom." You mumbled tugging the woman by her shirt sleeve. You had to mention something to her, alone, so you waited until your father left.

"Yes?" She turned around.

"I'd like to have Kai, Chiyo, and Yui over for dinner if that's ok."

"Really? Sure."

This way you can kill three thousand birds with one stone. If your father said anything to Rin, Kai would surely stop him. Considering Chiyo was so curious about him, she'd surely want to know more about him. She would probably ask you to have him over again but maybe if she got all the answers she needed, she would leave him alone.

You told your mother that either Tomorrow or the next day would be good and you would tell her when.

You pulled out your phone and looked through your contacts until you got to a similar contact.

You clicked the button that said Call. As the phone ringed you opened your laptop and looked through some things you were working on in your Minecraft world.

"Hello?" The person on the other side of the line picked up. A familiar deep, lazy voice rang in your ears.

"Rin?"

"Yeah wassup?" He yawned you could tell he just woke up.

"You sleep?"

"I was, why?"

"Oh sorry, I was asking if you could come over tomorrow?"

"Yeah? Why?"

"Uhh no reason." You lied.

"What time."

"Around 6:00."

"Kay. Be there."

"Ok thanks."

"Mhm. Love you bye."

"Love you too bye."

You hung up.

I JUST SAID I LOVE YOU TO HIM.

At this moment, Your face was very very red.

Little did you know Rin's was too. He just sighed and shook his head.

••••••••••••••
The time came for you to get ready. Rin would be meeting you at the park so you could just walk back to the house with him. That way, maybe you could explain a little bit of what was going on.

You put on some comfy clothes and your shoes. You skipped like seven stairs walking downstairs.

Your mother was in the kitchen cooking, she seemed to have noticed you looking awfully nervous yet excited.

"Excited?" She giggled.

"Huh?" You cocked your head to the side, a sign of confusion.

"Never mind." She smiled.

"Ok, I'm gonna go out real quick."

"Mk."

You walked out the house and down the block until you reached a familiar park.

You brushed off your shirt and looked around for your friend. He sat on the bench wearing something you thought looked really nice.

Something like this:

Not mine: https://pin.it/DADJrt5

You blushed a little, Cute. You smiled approaching the boy.

"Hey Rin." You smiled softly.

"Y/n." He looked up at you with eyes that lit up, "Hello." The boy's expression softened and a small smile spreading across his face.

"You ready?" You ask.

"Yeah."

"Alright let's go."

He stood up and walked over to you, mmh I really wanna hold her hand. Is that too much? Rin's thoughts ran.

You looked over to him, "So. I kinda tricked you, a little." You sighed.

"What?" He squinted his eyes.

"So the real reason I invited you over is because my family wants to meet you. By that I mean my father, since he's the only one who hasn't met you."

The boy sighed, a little nervous, "So I should've dressed more formal."

"No what you're wearing is fine." You smiled a bit.

"Ok."

"But just to let you know, my father can be a little..." you paused for a minute, "Over the top, if Kai or Me catch him say anything to you, we'll say something but there's only so much I can stop him from saying. If he says anything to you, offensive or not, and it makes you uncomfortable, ignore him. He's an idiot sometimes."

That probably wasn't the best thing to say, since he was barely keeping himself calm about meeting your family anyway. He's never been really sensitive, even when his own parent issues were getting worse, he still wasn't sensitive. That was somewhat of a relief in the back of the boy's head.

You felt the tension so You moved your pinky a little, signaling him you wanted to hold his hand. Little did you know, he had the same thing on his mind. You intertwined fingers and a small smile appeared on his face. Another relief of his, you.

You entered the house and let go of each other's hands, knowing you'd get questioned on it.

Your father sat on a bar stool smoking a cigarette in one hand and a beer in his other. He noticed Rin as soon as he heard the door open. So did Kai, who was helping your mother cook.

Chiyo entertained Yui and showed her different card games. You and Rin were the lasts to arrive.

Kai walked over to you, patting your head, "Hello." He half smiled.

"Hey."

"And Suna, it's good to see you again." He shook Suna's hand

Rin replied with a simple, "You too."

Your father payed close attention to the way the boy did things. The interactions he had with the other members of your family, the way you looked at him. He couldn't help himself, he needed to Push you to get back together with Kane.

Yui immediately recognized the voice coming from the kitchen and ran over to see Rin talking to your mother.

"RinRin!" She smiled running up to him and giving him a hug.

"Hey, Yui." He smiled.

Finally, it was time to try and talk to the father, Rin shuffled his gaze around the room and finally approached him. "Hello, I'm Suna Rintaro."

"Hello, I'm l/n F/n. So I see you've taken a liking to my daughter..." He started.

Yes, yes I have. "No, we're just friends."

"Your look at her tells me something differently, if that's the case, I don't want you together. She'll get back with her Ex, Kane."

He just stayed silent, secretly thinking of things to provoke him,

•Cool, did I ask?
•You blind?
•Didn't I just say no?
•She hasn't taken a liking to me, your wife has though.

Although some of them weren't true, your mother did not like him like that and he knew it. It would be funny though. You overheard the conversation, about how you and Kane would get back together.

Absolutely not, how about no. What the hell?

Kai walked over to your father, whispering a quick, "Leave him alone."

Your father then walked away. Leaving you with Rin, he smirked a little, so that's what her father's like, disapproving of me already?

You walked up from behind him and tugged his sleeve, please don't go, just ignore him. Don't leave me here with him though.

"What's wrong." He asked moving a piece of hair from your face.

"Uh. Did he say something to you? I'm sorry, he's uhh-"

"Don't worry it's ok. I've dealt with worse." He boy chuckled.

Relief spread across your body, Relaxing your mind and body, "Oh ok."

You all enjoyed the meal after the whole dad thing, which he didn't say much to Rin after that. Your mother had a nice time teasing you two. Apparently, you acted like a couple, but to you, you didn't.

You acted like friends. To Rin you were just friends too. But a little part of his brain didn't think like that.

I wish we were more...
