I awkwardly grabbed my food tray as I proceeded to find a seat. This is just like high school all over again.

People had their own tables, people had their own social groups, and here I am, trying not to look awkward.

A guy who was wearing a brightly colored outfit quickly took all of my attention. He was waving at me, gesturing for me to sit with him. His style was very different and eccentric. He wore a bright orange turtle neck and complimented it with a pastel red floral jacket.

"Hey." I tried to smile once I arrived at the table. "You're Benny right? Cockroach spirit animal?" I sat.

Benny began to speak as he picked out his loaf of bread. "That I am!" He slowly put down his loaf of bread, crossing his arms as he spoke again, this time slower. "What about you? Are you a fake ass butterfly or a real ass cockroach?"

"I couldn't be a fake butterfly even if I tried." I anxiously laughed.

Just before Benny could've responded another person came out of nowhere and sat right next to me, making me slightly move my body away. "Milan is trying to get back with me and it's making me really uncomfortable." The boy spoke.

Benny snapped his neck back. "Uh excuse you. Before you discuss your minor issues in your love life don't be rude and introduce yourself!" Benny spoke out, making the guy's head turn towards me.

"Oh my bad, I'm Logan." He smirked as he shook my hand, my eyes glancing at his lip ring.

"Micah." I let out my name, watching him as he ran his hand through his bright platinum hair. "I like your hair by the way."

His blue eyes shimmered at my compliment as if he was slightly surprised. "Thanks dude, not many people here compliment each other so that was really refreshing."

"Really? Why not." I asked, Benny speaking before Logan does.

"Because in this day and age, people either take a compliment as a type way of you saying you wanna get sexual intercourse, or you being fake. Times are changing." Benny shrugged.

"That's not true." I spoke, furrowing my eyebrows at him.

"At least here it is." Logan chuckled, sipping off of his orange juice.

Benny all of a sudden spoke out. "Anyways! Logan what was it you were trying to tell me?" He asked.

"Oh yea." Logan prepared to speak as I couldn't help but continue looking at his hair that looked like a cloud. "Well Milan is trying to get back with me."

Benny threw him a disgusted look as I remained quiet, completely clueless of what they were talking about. "But he broke up with you."

Hooray for me being third wheeled!

"Yea I know. I also noticed that once Dallas started dating Posh, Milan all of a sudden wants me back." Logan replied, Benny catching my confused facial expression.

"Sorry hold on a sec Logan." Benny flashed him his pointer finger as he moved his face closer towards me. "Since your new hun, I believe you deserve an explanation. I know you already know Posh and if you think he's dramatic, you would think Milan is a living breathing soap opera."

I nodded my head at Benny as I continued to listen. "Posh has 2 other maggots he calls friends and they stick together like the gay directors cut of Mean Girls." What Benny said Made Logan almost spit out his drink. "Posh is clearly Regina George, Milan is Gretchen Wieners, and Cadence is Karen Smith. But switch out Karen's lack of learning abilities to lack of self control because Cadence is addicted to the devil's lettuce."

"D-devil's lettuce?" I asked.

Benny rolled his eyes at me. "420 blaze it."

"Is that a rapper?" I asked again, catching Benny trying not to explode in laughter.

"Lord give me the power not to slap this child." Benny whispered before speaking again. "Mary Jane!"

"Who is she?"

"Micah, honey do you live inside a rock? Oh my god because if so Logan help me lift up the rock he's been living in! Marijuana! Cadence is addicted to marijuana!" Benny's voice was audibly frustrated but he still tried to remain calm.

"Oh shit." I couldn't help but laugh at how dumb I am. "I'm sorry. I honestly don't know how I didn't get that."

Benny side-eyed me as I couldn't help but continue to laugh out loud. "Bitch how did you not know that. You out of all people look like you would know these terms!"

My eyes quickly widened in rising anxiety. "Do I look like I smoke weed?"

"No! You just look like one of those people that keep up with the terms and the whole social media shit, you know?" He shrugged.

"O-oh not at all." I quickly shook my head. "I don't really keep up with stuff like that."

"So what do you keep up with?" Logan's deep voice asked from the side, leaning his head onto his hand as his blue eyes intently looked at me, a string of loose hair perfectly falling onto his face.

For some reason I was so intimidated by him that I couldn't even manage looking at him back.

I took a deep breath as I slowly moved my tray away. "Not much, ever since I was outed at school."

"Outed? By who?" Benny gasped. "Because we about to go back to that school and witch hunt whoever did that shit to you."

"Well I'm never coming back to that hell hole. And the guy's name was Brandon. I actually thought I found someone that loved me for the very first time in my life, but I was very wrong." My voice cracked at the end of my sentence, feeling Logan's warm hand gently going on top of mine.

Benny sighed. "Let me guess, hot closeted football player that wants to experiment and ignore you as a human being? Because that's all I'm hearing from that name."

"Yea. Basically." I nodded.

Logan finally began to speak. "If it makes you feel better, you're not the only who's gone through bullshit." He slowly licked over his lips as I looked at him. "I got kicked out by my parents when I came out. It was my fault, I should've not done it knowing they're super religious."

"I'm sorry." I breathed out, returning Logan's deep gaze. "Also it's not your fault that your parents couldn't accept you. That's on them, not you."

Logan threw me a small smile as I watched his eyes scan over my face, his hand still gently placed on mine.

Benny loudly coughed, grabbing both of our attentions. "Well damn, before y'all fuck on the table I wanna tell my story too." He cackled, Logan playfully rolling his eyes and chuckling as his hand went away. "Micah you see that woman back there?" His eyes gestured me to turn around.

"The lunch lady?" I turned back around towards at him.

"Yup." He nodded his head, his hand beginning to play with the straw. "Well she took me in when my momma died. She kinda caught onto me being gay since I couldn't stop dancing to pop music and me borrowing her wig thinking I'm having my own world tour. Luckily enough she already worked for this place so here I am. When I first came here I was honestly too shook at the amount of gorgeous guys that filled this place like goddamn! But I'm used to it now. Plus they don't notice me because I'm pretty sure everyone here is too much of a narcissist you get what I'm saying?"

"Yea, I do." I smiled.

"Oh!" Benny quickly raised a finger to speak again, but this time softer. "And also, the longer you stay here, the more you notice that a lot of these boys are just nothing but a pretty face and a hot body. None of them really have that it thing." He emphasized on the word it.

"What is it?" I asked.

"A flavorful soul. A rich spirit." Benny used his hands as he spoke as if he really did speak from his heart about this. "An attractive outside can only get you so far, but if you don't have that it thing, you're basically nothing but a walking, living, breathing, Forever 21 mannequin." He ended.

Logan began to act as if he had an imaginary notepad on his hand, beginning to speak as Benny and I both looked at him. "Pretty face, check." Benny narrowed his eyes at him. "Hot body, check. It thing, check. Well you look at that, I'm the full package." He let out, making me laugh out loud.

"Boy shut up, I will slap you." Benny tried to hold in his laughter. "Speaking of Forever 21 mannequins, here they come." Benny's eyes looked behind me as everyone in the cafeteria began to speak louder amongst themselves.

As I turned around, my eyes were quickly captured by the three guys we were just talking about. Posh, Milan, and Cadence. I can tell their parents took their time picking their names out because they sound so extra.

I tried not to stare at them like a freak as they entered the cafeteria, hearing one of them begin to speak. "I don't know who in their right mind would ever eat the food here."

Posh quickly whined. "Tell me about it." Posh tilted his sun glasses as he noticed some people were looking at the three of them. "Well, it's definitely better to be looked at than to be overlooked."

"Oh god." Benny rolled his eyes back in distaste. "For a bunch of bottoms they sure do love carrying themselves as if they were on top."

Posh's heels began to click closer as I widened my eyes at Benny. "Are they coming here?" I roughly whispered.

Benny quickly scratched his head as I felt a light tap on my shoulder, immediately making my head want to explode from shock. "Hey." Posh's slightly high pitched voice let out.

My eyes widened as I couldn't possibly imagine what he wanted from me.
