Her voice faded as I stared at my bedroom door through the creak in my closet. All I heard was my birth father banging on the door, making my heart jump each time he did a louder bang than before.

"Ariel?" The woman on the 911 call asked, "Honey are you there?"

"Yeah." I answered whispering as I slowly opened my closet door, making a little creak sound. My eyes widen when I heard it. My heart beat a little faster than normal as my breathing become heavy. The 911 woman said something, but it was muffled.

"What?" I questioned shaking my head as if she could see me.

"I said the police will be there soon." She repeated as I slowly stood up and tip topped out of the closet. I watched the door cautiously as I stepped out into my room and stood in the middle of my room, directly facing my bedroom door.

"I think he's gone." I whispered to the 911 woman, "He stopped banging on the door." I added taking a few small steps towards the door as the woman replied cautiously.

"Just stay where you are." She repeated for the third time, "The police-" She began to say, but she was cut off by my bedroom door being kicked open, making me drop my phone on the floor as a scream escaped my lips.

In the doorway stood my birth father, his eyes glaring at me. I stared back at him with wide eyes like I was a little kid who had just gotten in trouble with their parents.

"What do you think you're doing?" He asked, his eyes narrowed as he glared at me walking into my room.

"Nothing." I choked out taking a few steps back away from him.

"So you won't just on the phone with 911?" He asked sarcastically, noticing my phone on the floor, the call still going. I glanced over at my phone as I heard him stepping forward. My eyes flickered up to him as he got closer.

Grab your phone! Grab your phone! The voice inside my mind shouted at me.

After taking in a deep breathe, I dove for my phone felling on my knees. I couldn't reach it in time before my birth father snatched it off the ground, making me fell back onto my elbows. I watched in horror as he angrily threw it past him tossing it into almost into the hallway. I crawled backwards on my hands, then quickly scrambled myself up against as he stormed over in my direction.

"Ariel!" He shouted as I got to my front window and started banging on it, trying to get anyone attention.

Just then I saw police cars pulling up in front of my house and officers running out and coming toward my house. I sighed grinning in relief, but then felt two hands grab onto my shoulders and pull me away from the-
