Jungkook turned his head to look at you & gave you a smile. You looked at him deep in the eyes and smiled back like a fool.

You were hoping that maybe, if you'll look at him in the eyes he'll love you back. Sadly, you could not see his heart.

Once again, you got your hopes up. You looked away and let out a sigh.

You knew...
You knew that he only agreed to date you to make his ex-girlfriend jealous. You knew that he'll never love you back, but you still keep on hoping that he'll love you someday.

You could not understand why you are being like this; like a fool, you can't say or do something to end what you have with him. Strangely, today, you feel that you have enough courage to let go.

"What are you thinking about?" Jungkook asked, snapping you out of your thoughts. "Sorry, what?" you asked.

Jungkook hang his head down. He felt guilty of everything. He lifted his head and looked straight ahead of him, avoiding your eyes.

"Nothing," he replied. You flinched when he suddenly held your hand and flagged down a taxi. "Let's eat, I know you're hungry," Jungkook said.

You sat across Jungkook while resting your chin on your hand. He was busy looking at his phone again. He caressed the screen, smiling at it. It was a picture of him & his ex-girlfriend.

Jungkook put his phone down on the table. His smile disappeared when he saw a sad look on your face.

He reached out to grab your hand and lightly squeezed it. You removed your hand from his grip when the waiter arrived with the food. "Let's eat," you smiled.

"Why do you love me?" Jungkook asked out of a sudden. You took a sip of your drink before responding. "Because I love you," you said.

"What kind of answer was that, (Y/n)?" you thought, chuckling inside.

"You make me so happy," you sincerely said.
"I don't think so (Y/n). I'm sure you are hurt because of me." Jungkook shook his head and stared down at his hands.

You sighed. "Honestly, whenever you smile at me, you make me forget that I'm hurt. All the pain disappears."

"This might sound cheesy, but all I can see is you," you smiled. Jungkook smiled back genuinely. He held your hand and kissed your knuckles.

"We both know that I'll just hurt your feelings over and over again," Jungkook said, tearing up. "Even if you'll keep hurting my feelings, I'll still love you no matter what."

A tear escaped your left eye. You were about to wipe your tear, but Jungkook was quicker to wipe it away.

"Don't shed a tear for a guy like me." He caressed your cheek with his thumb making you smile.

"I'm not worth it," Jungkook added as tears escaped his eyes.

He hated himself for so many reasons. He wondered why he's still in love with his ex when you are right in front of him. In front of him is a girl who'll love him unconditionally.

Still, he could not understand why he feels nothing towards you.
"I must be crazy." Jungkook chuckled.

"Jungkook, help me put an end to this," you told him.

Jungkook held your left hand tightly. "H-how?" he stuttered. For some reason he was afraid of what's going to happen next.

"Tell me a lie," you smiled.

Jungkook was unable to speak for a few minutes. He closed his eyes and rested his cheek on the back of your hand that he was holding so tightly.

Jungkook opened his eyes to look at you. You were already staring at him, crying.

"Come on, tell me a lie," you repeated.

"I love you," Jungkook said.

Finally, with that lie, everything ended between you and him.
