I looked at my outfit in the mirror of the bathroom. A pair of tight jeans and a long sleeve white shirt with an open back. My metal wings protruding from my body in an almost angelic way. Clicking my heels several times on the tile floor I took a deep breath and left the bathroom.

"(Y/N)?" A quiet voice said from beside the door. Turning my head I smiled at the short, petite woman smiling at me. "Are you ready for your interview?"

"As ready as I'll ever be." The woman wasted no time in walking into a nearby elevator, for someone so short she walked incredibly fast. Our ride in the small cramped box was short lived as we reached the top floor rather quickly.

"Today you'll be meeting with Endeavor who will be deciding if you can perform your duties as Assistant Manger. Once he gives the go-ahead you can start working." Shoving several papers into my hand she shoved me towards the door. "Good luck Miss."

"Wait!" I turned back to look at her. "I never got to know your name."

A light blush dusted the woman's cheeks and her onyx eyes twinkled brightly. "No one usually asks for my name, I'm just an assistant." She looked away as if I had embarrassed her. "It's Emiko."

Reaching out I shook her soft skinned hands. "Hi Emiko! I hope that I get to work with you soon."

Emiko did a small bow and when she raised her hand a small smile was plastered across her rosy lips. "I hope you get the job (Y/N), it'd be nice to have someone so nice around here."

With those words she left me there, alone before a large door that would decide what my future had in store. Raising my hand I knocked on the door only for a deep voice to respond with come in. Lightly I pushed it open, the number one hero sat behind his desk with crossed arms.

"Ms.(Y/N). It's nice to meet you." He motioned towards the chair in front of him and I understood that he wanted me to sit down. "Are you ready to begin the interview?"

This wasn't what I had expected from the hero, he was calm and speaking with a steady voice. My original thoughts from seeing him on TV was that he was a loud, hotheaded man with no filter, but he was giving off the opposite vibe right now. Something was off.

"If you tell me who's standing in the corner." My eyes flickered over to the dark corner of the room. A familiar blonde stepped out from the shadows, his wings tucked behind his back. "Hi Hawks."

"Good intuition wings." Hawks stalked over to use, his eyes never leaving my body. As he reached Endeavor's desk he sat on a spot void of any papers. "I hadn't expected you to notice me."

"Hawk's get off my desk." Endeavor pinched the bridge of his nose, his face scrunching at the young hero's antics. "Before I put you on patrol duty for the next week."

Rolling his eyes Hawk's slid off the table and into a chair besides me. We both shared a look before turning back to Endeavor, his turquoise eyes studying my movement. Wriggling I wished his eyes would stop, they pierced through me like a knife.

Our staring competition held on for a long time until Hawk's cleared his throat. The attention in the room turned back to what we were discussing before.

"State your name and then your quirk." Endeavors voice was less calm and cool than it was when I first walked in. He sounded annoyed, as if he was about to go on a rampage.

"(Y/N) (L/N)." My own last name sounded foreign on my tongue. "But please call me (Y/N)."

Endeavor nodded and jotted something down on a piece of paper. "And your quirk (Y/N)?"

"Iron Wing. The retractable iron wings on my back allow me to go insanely quick. My feathers are one of the strongest materials around, nearly unbreakable." Endeavor nodded and continued to write things down. "On the down side retracting my wings makes my whole body stiff. Plus if you tear out my wings it's insanely painful when you do it and when they're growing back."

With a final scratch of his pen Endeavor dropped it on the desk. "Welcome to the job." He tried to make his voice excited and happy but it still sounded devoid of emotion. "My assistant will be waiting out the door to show you around, now please get out."

Standing up I offered the older male a small bow before I scurried out of his office. As I did my body clashed against that of a small person. Taking a deep breath to regain my composure I looked down to see Emiko smiling up at me.

"He didn't scare you to bad did he?" She asked, dusting off her clothes.

I shook my head and glared at the door that led to his office. "It all just happened so fast that I didn't understand much." My eyes softened when I looked upon Emiko's small form, her fingers softly twisting in her long blue hair. "But he said I got the job!"

An arm snaked around my waist and it took everything in me not to throw them out the nearby window. Wings wrapped around me but they weren't mine, they were warm and red.

"Hawks what are you doing?" I asked, my fingers twisting one of his feathers before plucking it out. He winced slightly and removed his wings from around my body. "Also why aren't you laid up in a bed at home or in the hospital"

It's been four days since Hawk's stumbled into my apartment on the verge of bleeding out. Though it's only been two since Dabi took Hawks back to his home. Since then I hadn't heard from either of the two men.

I turned to face the tall blonde man and gave him my most motherly look possible. There on his face was the childish smirk I had seen on TV so many times. "I was feeling a lot better, thought I'd drop by to welcome you to the agency."

"So it was you who got me this job." My mouth widened into a shy grin. "I don't think I ever told you about my interview."

"I don't know what you're talking about." Hawks loomed over me as if to challenge me to carry this conversation on further. "Just rumors going around about who the new assistant manager could be. Whether it was you or not I'd still be here right now."

"Was it not you who gave me that phone." I asked, accepting his small challenge. "Because from my point of view that note said the bag was from you. Meaning everything inside was too."

Hawks let out a breathy laugh before resting his hand on my shoulder. "You caught me. Now I gotta get going, enjoy you're new job wings."

His words took me by surprise, this was the second time he had said my name but it still caught me off guard. The way he said it was kind with almost a pitiful air to it and I knew he had spoken with Edmond. So what did he know about me?

"(Y/N)?" Emiko reached her arm up and waved it in front of my face. "Are you friend with Hawks?"

Shaking my head I tried to concentrate on the girl before me but even then my eyes still wandered to the tall man walking away. My eyes glued to the large crimson wings sprouting from his back. "I wouldn't say friends. We don't know each other that well."

Emiko lightly smacked my face with her hand and I finally looked back at her. "(Y/N) we need to get going so I can show you around. We've got a lot of area to cover before lunch."

"Did- did you just slap me?" I was stunned. Emiko had come off more on the shy side so though the slap may have been soft, it took me by surprise. Covering her hand she giggled softly and nodded. "Well let's get going before you hit me harder."
