"You look...." Keigo's voice trailed off as his golden eyes scanned across the dark red dress clutching to the curves of my body. The top of half was made of a soft mesh, the near transparent material adorned by delicately woven roses to cover sensitive areas. It cut off just below my bust and left a small section of my stomach uncovered. My bottom half was covered by a long spiraling skirt that loosely held to my body with a slit to make movement easier.

"Fucking fantastic." Dabi gave his own interpretation of what Keigo had been meaning to say.

I smiled and ran my hands along the dress, it's silky material feeling soft against my calloused palms. It had been a quick buy with only a minute or two for consideration. Our plane had been delayed due to a storm near the island and we only got to Japan an hour ago: Now we have only thirty minutes until the party. We had been in a panic and grabbed the first thing we saw: This divine dress.

Keigo wore a suit that hugged the slim yet defined muscles across his arms, it's color deep and crimson matching the striking red of my dress. Somehow even though we hadn't planned we ended up matching anyway: We truly looked like we belonged together. A soulmate wasn't a missing half because alone you are already whole, but instead a piece you hadn't realized you were missing. If my destiny was meant to be filled with peace, then I would want nothing more than what I have now.

"I love-" My words were cut short as small laughs rasped their way through the air and into my ears. I gave a small smile and began walking to the bedroom door, though after several steps I was pulled back into a warm chest. "Dabi what-"

"Finish what you were saying princess." Dabi's head laid atop mine, his chin lightly digging into the top of my skull as he held my body close to his. "I want to hear you say it."

"I love panini's." My chuckle filled the room but it was fought off by Dabi's annoyance. His attitude seemed grim and his movements fatigable. It was like any and all will had left his body and had been replaced with a hopeless strive for something more. "Dabi? Is something wrong my prince."

"Please just say it." The pair of arms around my waist pulled me a bit closer to him. My wings pressed against my back as a shiver ran a marathon across my skin. I wonder how they felt against his chest? Were they soft and tickly or were they harsh and sharp. "I wanna hear you say it princess."

"A please?" I joked before turning myself in his arms. "Just for that I think I'll say it. I love you both. More than I've loved anything else."

He cupped my cheek with his soft hands, thumb gliding across my face as if wiping away an invisible tear: One that fell from my heart. "You're a bitch sometimes, you know that right?"

I nodded and gently kissed his lips, my mouth melting into the cracks of his lower lips as they scratched against my skin. "You don't have to remind me, but we need to get going. We've got a car to catch."

"I still don't see why we can't fly." Keigo chimed in from besides us, his body sprawled across the sheets as his golden hair lazily tumbled across his head. "It'd be so much shorter than going in a car."

"If you want everyone to see my underwear then sure."

"No!" Dabi chimed in before Keigo even had a chance to say something. Keigo raised his arms up high before they fell back down, hitting him in the face in a show of his exasperation. It would be hard for the both of us to have our wings out in the car which was probably why he hadn't wanted to ride with us.

Shaking my head I exited the bedroom and left the two men talking about something I'd rather not listen to for much longer. In the living room there were three people, Emiko sat on the couch with her short blue dress falling across her knees as she continued to apply makeup to Atlas's young face. Edmond stood behind her watching as she finished putting on some eyeliner.

"I have to say Atlas." The elderly man said, head turning to the side as his eyes squinted. "You don't look half bad."

"He looks amazing!" Emiko bounced on her legs as her hands clasped themselves around Atlas's. She gave him a large smile as she stared at his eyes, her onyx ones gleaming as she took in her work. If Emiko had put blush on Atlas, then he no longer needed it. His cheeks were tinted red with a blush at how close Emiko's lips were to his. "Thank you for letting me do that Atlas, it was so boring waiting for (Y/N) to get dressed."

"Oh- yeah, no problem Emiko." He pulled his hands from hers and scratched the back of his neck. "I think I'll go look at it. See you later!"

Quickly the boy left and walked to the guest bathroom, his bare feet slapping against the bare wood as he walked down the hall. Edmond watched the teenager go and his only reaction was a small shake of his head. His deep voice filled the room when the bathroom door closed. "I think someone's got a crush."

"He's a little young for me right now." Emiko's eyes trailed to the bathroom door as she pushed a strand of blue hair out of her face. "I'm nineteen and he's what? Sixteen now? Atlas is a nice kid though."

"Wait your nineteen?" The shook was written across my face in an epic tale of betrayal and lies. "I knew you were young but I thought you were twenty! How long have you actually been working with Endeavor?"

"Three years." This time she sat on the couch properly, her short tanned legs falling lazy across the side as she patted her dress down. "My mom passed when I turned fifteen: Sad but I digress. Shortly after that I moved in with her girlfriend and got a job so that I could save up for college. Endeavor originally didn't want to hire me but after I picked up on bad intentions from the other candidate I got in."

"Emiko, I'm so sorry for your loss. If you ever need to talk I'm always here." Sitting besides her I put a hand on hers for comfort.

She shook her head, several loose strands of blue hair falling down before she pushed them behind her ear. "I'm fine. Mom was a nice lady and Lia's even nicer. She's got a son now, he's about six or seven."

I gave her hand one last squeeze before standing up, Keigo and Dabi finally made their exit to the bedroom to join us in the living area. Reaching my hand out I helped Emiko stand, her head bowing in a show of gratitude before walking to the door and exiting the apartment. There was nothing more for her to say right now, and it was important for her to keep her emotions level. Perhaps it wasn't the best idea to bring up her past in a moment like this.

"If all goes well then we should be back here tomorrow morning with Cane and Moria behind bars." I turned to face the three men looking at me. Their faces were filled with the anxieties that I was attempting so hard to bury in the depths of my mind.

"And if all doesn't go well?" Edmond's voice had a condescending tone as if he knew that things wouldn't turn out the way I had planned. He was a smart man, a bit cynical at times, and if anyone here could find out what was inside my head it was him. So did he know that all my confidence was false as I waited for my eminent demise?

"Everything will turn out okay."

"And if it doesn't?"

"It will!" I snapped, emotions overtaking my usual level headed attitude. This wasn't a conversation I wanted to be having right now and if they took it any further then I knew I would only get angrier. My whole life I'd been told that I was strong and didn't need help, for them to be doubting my power was unusual. Had I really become so weak that other people could see the difference?

"Let's get going baby bird." Keigo cut in, saving me from a talk I wasn't prepared to have. "Dabi don't burn shit down while we're gone, okay?"

The only response was a grunt as we left the apartment, our bodies staying close together as we made our way down to the ground floor of the building. A car was parked out front, it's windows tinted so dark that I could only make out the silhouette of a person sitting inside. Keigo opened the door and I situated myself besides Emiko.

"Took you two long enough." She joked, lightly elbowing me in the side before once again tucking a short strand of softly made blue locks behind her ear.

"Oh my gosh." I groaned and pushed her to the side so that I could have access to the blue hair messily strewn across her back. "It's been falling into your face since you changed."

Before she could hesitate I ran my fingers through the lightly curled blue. My eyes landed on the top of her head, black just barely covering her scalp as her dye job was beginning to grow out. Though the deep blue did compliment her facial features well, I thought black would do so even better. Quickly I pulled the hair back into a loose ponytail, every strand locked tightly within the confines of a hair tie.

She turned to the side, her head tilting as she looked at her face. "It looks amazing (Y/N)."

"She does have a way with her hands."

"Keigo!" I shouted, throwing one of my iron feathers at him, willing the sharp blade to be blunt it merely bounced off his forehead. WE both knew he could have stopped the metal object but for some reason he hadn't; His eyes instead glued on my body as the dress's slit fell open to reveal my leg, A small smirk making its way across his face. "What are you looking at that way pretty bird?"

"Just the most beautiful girl in the world."

"I don't think you're looking at me." Emiko chimed in from besides us, her soft voice cutting off the romantic moment. Fits of giggles escaped past her lips and for a moment I caught sight of what was hidden behind walls of emotions: Though she was able to read everyone's emotions, no one could read hers. Hints of pain sprinkled the top of her happiness.

I considered myself her best friend yet I'd never noticed that her smiles were nothing but a front for a painful past. From the moment she had told me the truth I realized that though she wasn't as broken as me, there were still cracks littering her soul from the loss of her mother. Emiko was strong, that much I knew, but I wish she knew that she didn't need to be strong alone.

"You're a girl? I thought you were a crab."

"Funny."

The car fell into a silence that resonated through the air, it filled the car with the weight of a thousand words without saying a single one. Tonight was the night we faced him and they think that we have one goal in mind: To keep the heroes and any pedestrians safe. For them that was all we were doing.

I had a different idea.

Tonight is the night I fight Cane for the last time. Malik's warning had lost itself somewhere in my mind and without a will to follow it I saw no point in doing so. The final chapter of my story is approaching and whether I get a happy ending or not, I know that I won't let anyone else die. Especially not the people I care about.
