My eyes fluttered open, light engulfing my waking mind. Groaning I sat up, instantly taking note of the blanket covering the bottom half of my body. Blinking of couple times, my eyes finally adjusted to the bright room, illuminated by the sun high in the sky.

Both Hawks and Dabi were nowhere to be seen, but this didn't really worry me. They usually left out of the apartment by six, and judging by the sun it was long past that point. Reading the clock on the wall I realized it was nearly three in the afternoon.

"I slept for twelve hours." My body fell back onto the couch, the wings on my back going to cover my eyes from the sun. "And yet I'm still tired."

I laid there for a moment, contemplating whether to take a shower or eat first. Sighing I got up from my warm spot; Eating first would be a lot less satisfying if I didn't feel nice from a long warm bath.

Walking to Hawks bathroom I began to fill the tub. While I waited it to fill I walked to Hawks closet, I've been here for a week and I still didn't have any clothes. Instead of doing what I'd usually do and grabbing a pair of Hawks large shirts, I grabbed one of the large hoodies that I think belonged to Dabi.

Holding the soft, large black hoodie in my arms I walked back into the bathroom. Stripping myself of the clothes I had on and retracting my wings, I slipped into the tub. The warmth of the water engulfed me like a hug from an old friend, it's water covering the entire lower half of my body. It put my thoughts to peace as I soaked in the warm tub.

My peace at mind didn't last long before my brain drifted off to the events from yesterday. It would have been so easy for the heroes to find out who I was, but Hawks had stopped that form happening. Though he didn't know me that well, he still put his neck out on the line.

"What am I going to do?" I asked to myself. "How am I supposed to tell them I'm not the type of person they want to get to know."

I'd come to terms with mostly everything that had happened before I met Edmond and Atlas, but even then I'm not to keen on telling everyone. If I told Hawks and Dabi, would they even look at me the same? Maybe I'd just become someone they need to protect, a burden.

"How easy life would be if I weren't completely fucked from my past." My legs raised in above the water and the sides of my head submerged into the warm bathwater. "But what's the fun in that?"

At this point I think I've lost my mind. Talking to myself wasn't unusual, it's a habit you pick up from being alone two years, but the fact that I just called my past 'fun' was kind of scary. No matter how far I think I've come I can't forget what they did to me.

Shaking my head, I stood up and dried myself off. I couldn't sit in the bath and continue to feel bad for myself, not when I was so close to getting my revenge. Is that what I wanted though? No, I just don't want to be afraid of him anymore.

"Stop it." I groaned aloud. "Keep your shit together (Y/N)."

I quickly slipped into Dabi's hoodie, the large piece of clothing going halfway down my thigh. Now changed I left the bathroom, making a B-line for the kitchen. Along the way I grabbed my phone from the couch and checked it's notification: Three from Hawks, one from Emiko, and one from Dabi.

Slipping the device in the hoodie pocket I pulled out a pan and a macaroni package. I quickly got the food to begin to cook and pulled my phone out again. First checking Hawk's messages.

'I'll be back a bit early today.'

'Make sure you eat food when you get up.'

'Have a good day :)'

The messages brought a smile to my face, how sweet of him to check in on me. My smile turned into a smirk when I thought of what I should say back. 'What if I don't eat.'

I wasn't expecting Hawks to text back quickly so I went to Emiko's message. Skimming over the long paragraph, the gist was that Hawks and I were expected to be at the company's training room every morning this week; What a pain.

Sighing I shoved the phone back in the hoodie pocket, completely forgetting about Dabi's message. Taking my macaroni off the burner I strained the excess water.

As I poured in the cheese mix, a pair of arms wrapped around my waist. My body stiffened and any calm that I had felt draining away. Whoever held me wasn't holding me tight, the grip so lose that there arms barely grazed against my sides.

"Not going to open my message?" My eyes lit up in recognition at the voice of Dabi. "It hurts my charcoal heart."

Jabbing my elbow back, it smacked against Dabi's chest. "You nearly gave me a heart-attack Staples."

There was a soft bite on my ear, his teeth lightly nibbled on the skin sending a pleasureful jolt down my spine. "Sorry about that." He said in a husky, low voice. "If you would've read my message you would've known I was going to be here soon."

Dabi released me from his grasp so he could lean against the counter. I grabbed my bowl of food and jumped on the counter beside the tall man. Quietly I ate my food, ever so often glancing to the man beside me.

His turquoise eyes stayed glued to my body, trailing over every inch of me. Taking in the way I awkwardly glanced at him, trying to understand what he was getting at. "Are you wearing one of my hoodies?"

My cheeks danced with light pink as I realized that I was in fact wearing his hoodie. "Maybe."

Dabi moved in front of me, one arm on either side of me. The smirk on his mouth threatening to make the staples on his come loose. "It looks a lot better on you anyway."

"Damn right it does." I went back to eating my food, trying to ignore the way he stared at my lips. "If you keep staring at my lips, I'm going to get the wrong idea."

He leaned in, his lips barely an inch away. "I don't think our definition of wrong ideas are the same thing."

Laying the bowl down I used one of my now free hands to push Dabi away. Jumping off the counter I began to walk away, taking note of the way his eyes followed every movement I made. I almost made it to the couch before his arms were around my waist, spinning me around towards him.

His lips met mine in a deep, hungry kiss. My body moved on it's own, pushing back against his in with the same carnal desire. It was like a dream, the way his smooth upper lip clashed with the roughness of his bottom one.

"Damn." I whispered, pulling away to get a breath of air. "That's a lot better than I could've expected."

Our lips met again as he lightly nipped at my lip, asking for entrance. Denying it for only a moment before he threw me on the couch, the sudden jolt giving him the opening he needed. I didn't try to stop him when his tongue slipped inside my mouth.

"So are you two really about to hook up on my couch?" My eyes narrowed and I pulled away from Dabi, glaring to the blonde man who stood at the door. "Cause I know for a fact that you have a room (Y/N)."

"You've got the wrong idea Hawks." Dabi said, getting off his place from my body. "I just had to show the princess what she was missing out on."

"Dabi, I am this close to drowning you in a toilet." I got up from the couch and grabbed my laptop. Making my way to my room, pretending as if I wasn't slightly embarrassed.
