Amber's P.O.V.:

"Hey, goodmorning!" Ryan said as soon as we came down the stairs.

"Goodmorning to you too." I said, smiling.

"Goodmorning!" Jade said with a smile. And I guess her smile just made someone's day. I thought as I looked at Ryan who was grinning like a Cheshire cat.

"I hope you guys had a good sleep last night." he asked, looking at Jade.

"Yes, we did." Jade replied and nodded my head as well.

Last night, I actually had a good sleep. I mean after finally speaking my heart out in front of an unconscious Chris really made my heart lighter. Thinking of which, where's he?

I looked around but he was nowhere to be found.

"Where is Mr. Collins?" I found myself asking this question.

"Chris? He is attending a video conference. He will join us soon." Ryan replied. For the first time, I saw him giving me a smile. Wow! I thought he only smiled looking at Jade.

"Oh!" I said as I thought of helping Jade in the kitchen for preparing breakfast.

We decided to make fried eggs, bacon, bake beans and fried bread. We also made tea for everyone. I brewed coffee for Chris with no sugar. I don't know how does he drink coffee without sugar. I cannot imagine drinking coffee without sugar.

But again, we are entirely different people. We are not similar in any ways. I sighed sadly.

I wish Chris wasn't this complicated. Maybe then we would have been able to be with each other.

Amber, stop thinking all this. Do you want your hear broken again?  My conscience asked.

I shook my head.

"What happened, Amber? You look lost." Jade asked, in concern.

"Nothing. Are we done preparing the breakfast?" I asked, changing the topic.

"Yes, everything's ready. Let's get the food out." she said. I nodded my head and put the breakfast on a big tray.

I carried the dishes whereas Jade followed me carrying the tray with beverages.

We were setting the table when Ryan came.

"Let me help!" Ryan offered as he took the plates from my hands and started setting them on the table.

"Amber, can you please go and call Chris for the breakfast?" he said looking towards me.

"Sure!" I said hesitantly.

I walked towards the room and knocked on the door a few times. When there was no reply, I slowly opened the door and walked inside slowly.

"Mr. Collins?" I searched for him.

Where's he? I was looking for him around when suddenly I heard the sound of the opening of the bathroom and he came out in just towel which was tied dangerously low around his waist. His hair was wet and water was dripping from it and was travelling down his chest and disappeared when it reached his towel. Damn! How can a person be so sexy? Doesn't he get tired of being so sexy?

"Like what you see, Ms. Milburn?" I heard him ask me with a smirk on his face.

I was sure my face had turned red by now.

"I...I am here...to call you for breakfast, sir." I managed to speak.

He walked towards me slowly and stood in front of me.

"Oh, I see." he said, huskily. I could smell his manly and fresh scent.

"Uhm...I will go then. You get changed and...come down for breakfast." I said looking everywhere but him.

"I am hungry. Let's go." he said as he started walking towards the door.

"What? Don't you wanna put some clothes on your...naked body?" I asked, looking at him with wide eyes.

"I can go and eat like this. Eating requires mouth and not clothes, Ms. Milburn." he said in a duh tone.

"What? There's a woman down there. You can't go naked in front of her." I said, almost immediately.

How can go just like this in front of another woman?

He crossed his arms over his chest. I could see a ghost of the smile on his face.

"What happened? Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked, hesitantly.

"Are you being possessive, Ms. Milburn?" he asked out of nowhere.

"Where did that come from? And why would I be possessive?" I asked, looking everywhere but into his eyes.

"Don't lie, Ms. Milburn. I can see you're possessive. And you don't want another woman to look at my naked body."he said, as he closed the gap between us.

That's absolutely right!

But I am not gonna accept it.

"No! I am not getting possessive. It's none of my business if another woman or any woman looks at your naked body. It's your body and their eyes. And none of them are my concern." I said,  crossing me arms over my chest.

What does he think of himself?

"Fine then. Let's go and eat like this." he said as he put his hands around my waist. The hair at the back of my neck stood up.

"Fine, let's go!" I knew he wouldn't go like this to eat. So, I played along. But when I realized that he was dead serious, I lost my wits.

"Chris! Get changed already. Don't mess with me." I said as I pushed lightly on his chest.

He looked at me with a smirk on his face.

"I like it when you call me Chris. It sounds so sexy." he said as he pulled me by my waist and crashed my body on his chest.

What has happened to him today? He's behaving so different.

"But it was Mr. Collins for me, wasn't it?" I asked, rolling my eyes.

"Did you just roll your eyes at me?" he asked, raising his eye brows.

"I did!" I don't know where was I getting this enormous amount of courage today. We both were acting so different from our usual self.

Has something happened? Am I dreaming?

"No, you aren't." he said looking into my eyes.

"Did I again?" I asked, embarrassed.

"Yes, you did. Do you that you're really entertaining?" he said pushing the loose strand of hair behind my ear.

"I am glad you find me entertaining." I said, shyly.

"You don't even have an idea what else I find you." he said as he pulled me closer and placed a light kiss on my forehead.

I was about to faint when he shook my body lightly.

"From now on, you are not allowed to faint when I am kissing you, okay?" he said looking into my eyes with his blue eyes.

I nodded my head absentmindedly looking into them.

"Good!" he said as he pecked on my lips.

He left my waist and moved towards the wardrobe.

"Now, if you don't want me get changed in front of you then better close your eyes. I won't mind you looking at me like that though." he said and winked at me.

My mouth opened in shock.

"No!" I screamed as I turned back and exited from the room.

I could hear his chuckle.

I walked down the stairs grinning like a Cheshire cat.

"Amber, why are you blushing?" Jade asked, with a smile

"You're sure you went to call Chris?" Ryan asked, surprised.

"Yes, why? What happened?" I asked.

"Because never have I ever seen a girl blushing after having a conversation with Chris." he said which made Jade and I laugh.

"Shut up, Williams. I am not that scary." we heard Chris saying as he descended the stairs.

He came and sat beside me on the table.

"Ms. Milburn, are you free today?" he asked out of blue.

"Umm...yeah. I guess I am." I said and for inexplicable reason I couldn't stop blushing.

"Good. Go out with me today." he said casually and started eating the breakfast.

Ryan and I choked on our food after hearing him say the sentence.

"Are you guys fine? Drink some water." Jade said as she passed both of us water.

Ryan and I were both looking at Chris as if he had grown horns on his head whereas he was busy eating his food.

"Did you just ask her out?" Ryan asked, in shock.

"Did I? I just asked her to come out with me, Ryan. Don't exaggerate. Can't a boss take his employee for an outing?" he asked, shrugging his shoulders.

"So, Ms. Milburn? You're coming?" he asked giving his undivided attention.

Now everyone at the table where looking at me, waiting for my answer.

I could feel my ears getting red.

"Umm...ye..." before I could speak, Chris' phone rang.

He excused himself to attend the call. He walked away attending the call.

I finally released the breathe which I was holding.

"Somebody is blushing!" Jade teased.

"I still can't believe my eyes and ears. Did he really ask someone out? I mean is he really the Chris Collins I have known since kindergarten?" Ryan asked, still surprised.

The feeling is mutual, Ryan. Even I can't believe it.

Jade laughed and we continued having our breakfast.

We were having our food when Chris came back. He looked tensed and his signature serious look was back on his face.

"Ryan, we need to rush to home right now. Come with me." Chris said and without giving another glance, he turned and walked out of the apartment.

Ryan seemed to have guessed that there was something serious as he didn't even waste another second and stood up.

"Girls, my driver will drop you both at your places. I received a message from the police that they have already arrested those goons so now there's nothing to worry. I need to go with Chris now." he said as we stood up.

We nodded our heads in understanding.

He was about to turn and exit the apartment when he looked at Jade and spoke, "Jade, can you please give me your number to my driver. I will contact you later. I have something to talk to you. Okay?"

"Sure. I will." Jade said and with that Ryan exited.

*****

I was back in my apartment. I thought of calling Chris and asking if everything was okay but then I decided against it because It wasn't my place to ask anything.

I was sitting on the couch looking at my phone and thinking if I should call him or not when Adelaide came and sat beside me. I told her everything that happened since last night till the morning. She did get excited hearing what happened last night and this morning but now her excitement has died down seeing me worried about Chris.

"I am really worried about Chris, Adelaide. It's killing me thinking about what might have happened at his home that he looked to tensed." I said as Adelaide paced her hand on mine.

"Everything will be fine, Amber. Don't worry." she said.

I nodded my head slowly. No matter how much I tried but I couldn't stop worrying.

Suddenly, my phone rang. I picked it from the table and saw Jade's name flashing on it. I answered the call.

"Hey, Jade. Did you reach your place safely? Are you fine?" I asked.

"Yes, Amber. I am reached safely and I am fine. I called you for some other reason." she said. She looked tensed.

"What happened, Jade? You sound tensed. Are the goons back?" I asked, scared.

"No, Amber. It's nothing to do with me. Actually, I got a call from Ryan few minutes ago. He told me that Chris' grandma a heart attack this morning that's why Chris was looked so tensed." she informed.

"What? Is she alright now?" I asked as I stood up from the sofa.

"Yeah. She is fine now. But she is still unconscious. Ryan said that he checked her. It might take some days for her to come into her senses." she said.

I released a sigh of relief.

We chatted a little and we hung up.

"Adelaide, Chris' grandma had a heart attack this morning. She's fine now but I am worried. I am worried about Chris. Chris must be really stressed right now. Do you think I should go and meet him?" I asked, looking at Adelaide. My mind wasn't working properly and I needed advice.

"You should definitely go and see him." she said.

"I know, right," I said as I without wasting any more second, I exited from the apartment and took a taxi to his mansion. I texted Lucas to ask for Chris' address. He texted me his address within no time and now I headed towards his mansion.

His mansion was in West Brompton, one of the poshest areas in London. It is an extremely pricey neighborhood in London due to the fact that it is partially in the expensive borough of Kensington and Chelsea. I was able to find such landmarks as the Troubadour Cafe where Bob Dylan performed his first gig. Additionally, the Chelsea Football Club is within walking distance, and this neighborhood has been designated as one of the villages to replace the Earls Court Exhibition Centre. The average property price of a home in this neighborhood is £1.5 million, or $2 million. I know about this area because once we had given to research about one of the business person's life who used to live in this area before he shifted to the Knightsbridge. I didn't know Chris also lived in this area.

After 45 minutes of ride, I was now standing in front of the large iron gate. I went to the watchman and told him that I wanted to meet Chris. I knew he wouldn't let just a random person to enter so I showed him my work ID and told him that I was Chris Collin's PA. Luckily, without asking much he let me in.

I walked through the long path in the middle of the huge garden and reached in front of the large wooden gate. I rang the bell and waited for someone to open it.

After about a minute or something, a young lady maybe in her 30s opened the door. She was wearing a black uniform with white apron over it so I guessed she was one of the house help.

"Good evening, Miss. Who are you looking for?" she asked, politely.

"Ummm...good evening. Actually, I am Mr. Chris Collin's PA. I am here to see him. Is he home?" I asked with a lot of hesitation.

"Yes, he is. Please come is." she said as she opened the door wide open and asked me to follow her.

I followed her inside the mansion. This mansion is literally beautiful both in and out. I was taken into one of the rooms and was asked to wait for Chris. I thanked her and sat on one of the couches in the room and waited for Chris to come.

I couldn't sit any longer because of my nervousness. I was confident when I was coming here but now that I am thinking of it, I am thinking maybe I shouldn't have here. I am just his PA. Why did I come? I should have not come here.

I was thinking about it when I noticed a huge photo frame hung on one of the walls. It was a family portrait. It was a really elegant photo where his step mom and his grandma were seated on the L-shaped velvet maroon couches elegantly and his father and he were standing behind.

There were several other photos hung on the wall but in no photo did I see him smiling. Not even the ghost of a smile lingered on his face on those photos. Why doesn't he smile?

"Why are you here?" I was startled when I heard Chris' sound behind me. I turned around and found Chris standing dangerously close to me. I was about to fall but he grabbed me by my waist and prevented me from falling flat on my back.

I couldn't stop myself from adoring his blue eyes. They were looking back at me.

He cleared his throat and helped me stand up straight.

"umm...thanks!" I said, tucking the loose strand of hair behind my ear.

"Why are you here?" he asked, in a very cold voice.

What happened? Why is he so cold so suddenly?

Maybe because of his grandma's condition. That's understandable.

"Actually, I got to know about your grandma's condition. So...I came to check on her...and you." I whispered the last word.

"She is Mrs. Collins for you, Ms. Milburn. And what are you? A doctor to check on her?" he asked, in his dangerously deep voice.

I was shit scared.

"Uh...umm...I am so...sorry. I thought I...I should at least come and see if your grandm...I mean Mrs. Collins is okay or not." I said, stuttering.

"She's fine." he said, with no emotion on his face or voice.

"Are you fine?" I asked, concerned.

"Ms. Milburn, let me put few things straight. First, you're just an intern in my company. Secondly, I am your boss so maintain a professional relation with me and finally, don't you ever dare to interfere into my personal life or you'll face my worst side and trust me, you wouldn't want to face that side of me. Now get lost!" he said in a dead serious voice.

"But ...." I was cut off short when he spoke loudly.

"I said, GET OUT!" I was startled by such a loud voice. I was on the verge of crying but my dad didn't raise a cry baby so I bit down my tongue for restraining myself from crying.

"Yes, sir!" I said as I turned around and ran out of his mansion without looking back.

I shouldn't have come here.
