CHAT NOIR'S POV

"The stars, they're beautiful aren't they?" Marinette said, her lips curving as it forms into a smile, her blue bell eyes held my gaze at her, forming a lump in my throat. 'She reminds me so much of Ladybug...'

"Yeah, yeah they are," I answered with monotone pitch, pulling in a sharp breath afterwards as I fixated my eyes towards the stars whilst I have the opportunity to see them. Stars like these are undeniably rare to see, not to mention how long the light year takes. But in this circumstance, I cannot help of how I'm feeling guilty, especially Marinette, who is right next to me. I can't strike up a conversation with her, what I've done to her terribly unforgivable in my opinion.

She drew in a deep breath and sighed heavily, her words tried to comfort me, "Chat.... Everybody makes mistakes, it's alright."

Not it's not....

"Was it a girl you like?"

I nodded.

"Heh, funny thing Chat, you remind me of Adrien but yet, you don't. But I'm grateful to have your company, kitty," she laughed, flashing me another smile that flutters my stomach.

I felt myself eased a bit. I smiled weakly, she frowned at that.

"Aw Chat... was it that bad?"

"I feel like dying, I don't even deserve to talk to her."

"Hey... That's isn't so nice," she pouted, she scooted over closer to me and threw her hands up in air, pulling me in for a breath-taking hug. I tensed at first, but returned the hug afterwards.

"You always know how to make me feel better."

She giggled, nudging my arm. I couldn't help but laugh. Suddenly, out of the blue, she asked in a teasing manner.

"You still liked ladybug?"

I smirked, "Yup! She's my one and only bugaboo."

Her face reddens for a moment, and couldn't help but choke out a laugh I've unconsciously been trying to hold in. "You won't judge her with or without the mask?"

"With or without, it's the same person isn't it? Same heart, same mind, same soul. I'll always love that person," I acknowledged.

Marinette blushes for a moment, "That's sweet of you, Chat..."

"Is it?"

"Yeah, it is. But when she reveals herself, I don't know how you will react," she says, her voice trailing away as her eyes were clouded with a mist of sadness. "Because what if, she's not good enough?"

I blinked my eyes, twitching. I pulled her in for a hug, shock of my own actions; it was my instincts. I stroked her hair, resting my chin on her head. "Hey, hey, don't be like that. I'm all boosted up now, don't go bawling Princess."

"But what if I was Ladybug? Would you accept me? Because... If, I were, without the mask I'm a complete fool and with, people will like me no matter what I do. For example, I'm Ladybug. My crush likes Ladybug but no me..." she mumbled, burying her face in the crook of my neck.

"I would love you if you were Ladybug. Both sides," I comforted her.

But I wish you were Ladybug.... You remind me so much of her, but yet, the similarities are so different.

I loosened my grip, pulling away from the hug as she felt better. Inside, I thought, 'how am I going to face her after that incident?' I shook my head quickly, racking my brain, attempting to erase the bad thoughts that clouded my mind.

"Have you ever skipped school?" she asked hesitantly, I looked back and tapped on my chin, waiting for the train of thoughts to hit my brain. Then I realized, no, I never skipped school.

"Never, my Princess," I purred, getting my original cattitude back.

She sighed, "I think I'm going to for the next two days. I feel like a bad person... to skip school, and leave Alya, Nino and...."

My mouth hung open, she never skipped school! I secretly waited for her to say my name at the end, but she hates my guts now.

".......and, a-and Nathanael."

I clenched my fist, "Hey Princess, do you have the hots for Nathanael?"

Her face soon turned red under a second, rambling as words poured out her mouth uncontrollably. "N-No! I-I, H-h-hots? Uhmm..."

My heart raced. What if she does have a thing for Nathanael, but she's skipping school tomorrow.. Maybe I can skip school and be with her as Chat. Genius! I opened my mouth to say something to her, but it was cut off by my ring, letting out maniacal beeps, alarming me that Plagg, once again, needs more of his cheese. I was on the verge to transform any minute. Marinette looked at me, abruptly standing from the bench and practically dragged me out.

"Goodnight Chat! Go home before anyone sees you," she said, about to take off.

"Wait!" I frantically called her, before she ran to her house. She replied a 'yes?' with a toss of her head, her eyes gazing into mine. I walked over to her and pulled into one more comfortable hug, her warmth and presence comforted me and I couldn't help but mewed out a small purr of satisfaction.

She giggled, hugging back, "You need something Chat?"

"Just some love," I winked. She rolled her eyes in a sarcastic manners, placing her hands unto my chest she was about to pull away. Before she could do that, I placed a hand on the back of her neck, she raised an eyebrow as I did so. I slightly pushed her neck, making her face lean on mine. It was close enough for me to plant a kiss on her forehead, which I did with ease. "Goodnight Marinette."

With that, I ran, my sleek black coat camoflauging into the darkness, jumping from trees to trees, far enough to still see Marinette but not for her to see me. Within a second, I transformed back to Adrien. Plagg discharged from the ring, his little kwami self flew over to me.

"Lover boy," he laughed.

"Oh shut it Plagg," I hissed, peeking to see Marinette. She was incredibly cute, her face was red. I couldn't help but snort out a laugh, which got Plagg's attention.

"Poor girl, she must be scared," he gasped.

I retorted, " She is not! I kind of flirted with her, but to be honest, I feel like she's the one for me."

"And I thought the one for you was Ladybug?" he retorted back.

"I-I don't know..."
