Hi my lovely readers. How are you all?

I know the last chapter was cliff hanger and you all must be thinking to kill me but, please don't kill me dear readers.

How can you expect the protagonist of the story to die so soon, that too without ending our female lead's misery.

So guys, let's start with the chapter now.

Siya's POV

"Ahhhh" was the last word I heard from him, before he closed his eyes.

I felt as if blood was drained from my body. I stood there, on the middle of the road, trying to process what actually just happened.

Akash just put himself in danger to save me?

I heard Kriti and Sid, running in our direction.

I was still in my trance when Kriti shook me by my shoulders, bringing me out of my daze. Sid was already checking Akash's pulse. I crouched down to his level, taking his head in my lap, trying to help him open his eyes by lightly patting his cheeks.

"Hey Akash, please open your eyes. Don't do this. You can't leave me when I just found you. I'll not let anything happen to you" I was a crying mess by now and Akash wasn't opening his eyes.

"Sid please call the ambulance" I said looking at him.

He immediately called the ambulance and we all took him to the hospital.

When we reached the hospital, he was immediately taken to OT. When we contacted the doctor, he told that the injuries were minor but due to the sudden effect of the hit, he lost consciousness.

We all breathed out a sigh of relief when the doctor told that the injuries were minor and he would be conscious in few hours.

Suddenly we saw an elderly doctor coming towards us.

Facing Sid, he asked him worriedly "How's he."

"He's still in OT uncle. Doctors have said that the injuries are minor and he'll be conscious very soon" he replied to the elder doctor.

Then he turned towards us and asked Sid "Are they with you?"

"Yes uncle, this is Kriti, Akash's family friend and her roommate Siya. They both have just joined college" Sid said, introducing us.

We folded our hands in namaste and greeted him.

Uncle surprised us by hugging and blessing us to do well in studies and make our parents proud. I think he's a kind man.

"Well I am Deepak Singhania. Akash's father and me are childhood friends" he introduced himself, clearing our confusion.

Then realization hit me, he is the same person Akash visited yesterday.

The OT suddenly burst open, revealing the doctor coming out and said " Well he is fine now. We've treated his wounds, he would be conscious in 1-2 hours. We are moving him to the ward now, if you want you all can wait"

"Thank you so much doctor. Is there anything to worry about" Mr. Singhania asked him.

"No, nothing to worry about, just he needs a little care, his right hand is fractured and it might need upto a week for his hands to heal. There were some scratches as well on his left hand which we've treated" he informed us.

"For how long do you think he needs to stay in the hospital" Mr. Singhania asked.

"I would suggest for him to stay in the hospital for a minimum of 2 days. then you can take him back" he informed and Mr. Singhania further asked him about the precautions and medicines to be taken.

"He is a good man" I said, pointing at Mr. Singhania.

"Yes, he is" Sid replied.

Suddenly my phone rang and I saw, it was a call from my mother.

Taking a deep breath, I picked it up "Hi mumma" I said to her on the phone.

"Where are you" she asked.

"I am at the hospital" I replied.

"What happened are you fine?" she asked, worried.

"I am fine mumma, one of my friends met with an accident while saving me, so we brought him to the hospital" I said.

"Okay...wait you brought 'him' that means he's a boy" she asked.

"Yes mumma" I answered.

"I asked you to stay away from boys and unwanted attention" she said to me getting angry.

"Mumma, I am not getting any unwanted attention, moreover, he saved me from the accident today. If not for him, I would've been in the hospital in place of him. You should be thankful to him, your daughter is safe only because of him" I said, my temper boiling now.

"So, I see that you've started back answering me. Is that the reason why we sent you to college" she said to me in angry tone.

"I am not answering you back mumma, I am just stating what's true" I said to her.

"I suggest you to go to back to hostel young lady. It is already late" she said ordering me.

"I am not going back until he is conscious" I said.

"You've started disrespecting me now. I raised you better" she said.

"Mumma, I am not disrespecting you. I am just saying that I want to be with the person because of whom, I am alive and fine, talking to you. It's the least I can do for him" I said, trying to calm her down.

"There is no need for you stay. I am sure his friends and family must be there to take care of him. So it would be better if you go back to hostel now" she said, getting more angry.

"You know what mumma, it would've been better if in place of Akash, I would've met the accident. Knowing it could cost his life, he still saved me. I wish he hadn't put himself in danger to save me and I would've met with the accident instead of him and died. At least then, I hope, you would've realized my worth. You know what the worst part is, even when I told you that he's the one who saved me you don't care and you're least bothered about it. I am and will stay in the hospital until he gets conscious. I am sorry if you think I am disrespecting you, but I can't fight you to understand my point of view, at least not now when I should invest my energy in doing something positive, helping my friend " I cried in the phone and disconnected the call.

"Hey, you okay" Kriti asked, walking towards me.

Wiping my tears, I said " Yes am fine" trying to smile, but failing miserably.

"Lets' go the cafeteria. You must be tired. Let's get some coffee for you and me" she said.

"But what about Akash" I asked.

"He's fine. He's still unconscious. Sid is keeping an eye on him. We'll come back soon, don't worry and I've asked Sid to call me in case, he wakes up when we'll be in cafeteria" she said.

I think I need a break now, especially after my outburst at my mumma.

When we walked to the cafeteria, I ordered coffee for me and tea for Kriti.

We were just sitting in silence, when Kriti broke it " Thank god Akash bhaiya is safe and didn't get much injury."

"Yes, even I am thankful to god that he didn't get much injury and will be fine in a week. I would feel so guilty all my life if something would've happened to him" I said, to her. I was almost on the verge of crying.

Kriti took my hands in hers and said "hey stop feeling guilty. He is a strong man. Even If the accident would have been major, I am sure he would've survived it and come back as strong as ever. Moreover whatever happened was not your fault."

I looked at her, wiped my tears and nodded with a smile.

"Look Siya. I don't think it is my place or right to say this, but just as a friend, I would suggest you. I think you shouldn't have been rude to your mother" she said to me.

Oh my god, did she hear my whole conversation with my mom?

"I don't know for what exactly you both had an argument and I won't force you to tell me either. I know, you'll tell me whenever you fell like or even if you don't feel like to tell me, it is fine, but arguing with parents will give you nothing but restlessness at the end of the day. I know you respect your mother a lot and I think for your peace of mind, you should talk to her and apologize, you'll feel better" she said to me.

I was out of words hearing her. I still remember the way my mother made her feel uncomfortable on our first day at hostel, even then she is here, asking me to apologize to her. How could I be so lucky to get such an understanding and loving friend.

One thing was for sure, I'll never let anything come between our friendship, come what may.

We talked for a while, took a coffee for Sid as well and then headed to Akash's ward.

After around 2 hours, we saw him opening his eyes.

He scanned the whole room, as if trying to register where is he. His eyes scanning the whole room with a frown on his face and soon as he saw me his frown disappeared and he gave me a breathtaking smile, which made my heart flutter.

"Are you fine, did you get hurt anywhere" he asked, scanning my body, looking for any injuries.

I couldn't believe my ears, he was in the hospital, with a fractured hand and was asking me if I was fine or not.

"I am fine, nothing has happened to me. It is you who's injured" I said to him.

Then he noticed his hand which was plastered and gave me a cheeky smile.

"Even we are in this room. You both are talking as if we don't exist at all" Kriti said with a pout and gestured towards her and Sid.

"Exactly Kriti, even we were hell worried about you, but you two are talking as if we don't exist" Sid said with fake anger.

The doctor entered the ward and was examining Akash and gave him some instructions as well.

I could feel the entire time his gaze on me, even when the doctor was instructing him.

The doctor cleared his throat to gain his attention and asked him "so are you clear with the precautions you need to take."

He came out of his daze, looked at the doctor and said" yeah...yeah of course doctor, Sid will take care of me, right Sid" he said, looking at him.

"Why would I take care of you when you didn't even acknowledge my presence when you opened your eyes" Sid said to him.

"I know very well that you'll take care of me" Akash said to him and continued "anyways I am feeling hungry will anybody feed me as I've my hands plastered."

"Well me and Kriti and going to cafeteria to have our food. As it is, it is already late. Siya and Kriti won't get food in their hostel now. Siya, why don't you feed Akash and meanwhile me and Kriti can have our dinner and we'll bring you food as well" Sid said turning to me.

"Me?" I asked pointing at me.

"Why is there a problem if you feed me?" I heard Akash saying.

Akash saved my life today. If not for him, I don't know what would've happened to me. The least I could do for him is help him recover and feed him.

I thought for a while and nodded my head "yeah sure not a problem. I'll feed him. You guys go and have food. If I require anything, I'll call you Kriti" I said to them.

They both nodded and went away and nurse came with the food for Akash. She kept it on the table and went away.

He scrunched his nose at the sight of food and made puppy eyes to me, clearly making me aware that he didn't want to eat it.

"there's no other option. This is what you've been asked to eat at least for this week. It help you recover faster and don't make those puppy eyes, it won't work on me" I said sternly and he sighed heavily.

I brought the bowl of soup close to his mouth and he opened it and gulped it down his throat. I made him drink the whole soup and like a good kid, he obeyed and without complaining, he finished his whole dinner.

When I was about to go to the washroom to bring a towel to clean his mouth, he caught my wrist and said "where are you going".

My heartbeat instantly accelerated at his mere touch. Composing myself, I replied "to the washroom, to get you a towel."

"No need for that. Sit here, in front of me" he said, more like ordered me.

I sat on the stool in front of him with my head lowered, looking at the floor. There was complete silence in the room. Only our breathing could be heard. I could feel his intense gaze on me, as if burning holes on my skull.

"Are you fine" he asked, breaking the silence.

"Yes I am" I replied instantly.

"Siya, at least look at me when you talk to me. It would make me feel good" he said.

I looked at him and he gave me a breathtaking smile. Oh god, he looks so good when he smiles, he should do that more often.

"You should smile more often, you look so good when you smile" I said, without thinking. Realizing what I just said, I instantly covered my mouth with my palms. My cheeks started warming up and I could feel blood rushing through them.

His smile became wide listening to me and he said "so you really like it when I smile."

Well there was no looking back now as the words had already left my mouth so I nodded, looking on the floor.

"Well then I should take your suggestion seriously and smile more often" he said, teasing me.

"You know about the best thing that happened today?" He asked.

I shook my head.

"You took my name for the first time since we met" he said, looking at me with so much emotions in his eyes.

I looked into his eyes and answered "how can this be a good thing when you got injured and you are in this hospital because of me" I said, feeling guilty.

"It wasn't your fault Siya. Stop blaming yourself for something which isn't in your control and not your fault" he said to me.

"But still I will never be able to forgive myself. You are here, injured because of me. You shouldn't have risked your life for saving me. God forbid, if something would've happened to you, I would've never been able to forgive myself" I said to him with tears in my eyes.

He was looking at me intently the whole time and then he took my hands in his and wiped my tears with his thumb.

"You should know this Siya, I could risk my life a thousand times without thinking twice, if it save your's just once" he said looking at me with so much emotions.

I was speechless at his words. We suddenly heard a throat clearing voice from our back and I took my hands back instantly from his grip.

"Did we interrupt something" Sid asked entering the ward with Kriti behind him.

"Yes you did" Akash said to him boringly.

"How mean" he said.

"That I am" Akash said, playing along.

Kriti also hugged him and asked about his well being. Turing to me she said " Siya, I think we must go now otherwise the warden wouldn't let us enter the hostel. I already informed her that we would be late today but since Bhaiya has gain consciousness now and Sid is already here, I think we should go now."

I know she was right, but I wanted to stay with Akash.

As if sensing my thoughts, Akash said to me " I think Kriti is right. You both should leave now. it is already late."

I turned around reluctantly to leave when he called me and said " Siya, if you really want to say sorry to me, you'll have to call me by my name. Treat me as your friend, that is enough for me" he said.

I smiled at him and said "yes I will but you promise me that you'll take care of yourself" I said to him.

He nodded with a smile and suddenly I realized, what if he needs to call someone in this condition. He already has Kriti's no. but what if he needs something urgently and Kriti in case doesn't answer his calls.

I instantly moved to him and asked for his mobile phone. He looked at me suspiciously but then gave it to me. I saved my no. in his phone and handed it back to him.

"I've saved my no. on your phone. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to call me anytime" I said.

I saw him smiling at me widely and nodding.

With a last glance at him and bidding my goodbye to Sid, we went to our hostel.

I've got one thing cleared in my mind. I won't back off this time when it comes to showing my care for my friends, especially when they've nothing but supportive and good to me. With this thought to stay determined and stand by my friends no matter what, I went to sleep.

Hi my lovely readers.

So did you all like it? If yes then please don't forget to vote, comment and shower your love on your author.

So did you all like Siya's outburst on her mother? Well it was much needed because Siya had all these bottled up emotions since I don't know how long and someday or the other, it had to come out of her.

Guys, please note I don't at all support misbehaving with parents or anybody elder or even younger. Also, I don't support suicide and taking up our own lives, whatever may be the reason.

Siya wanted to fight for it and in the upcoming chapters she will. She just said those words to her mother in heat of the moment as she was getting on her nerves and she couldn't take it anymore. Don't take any offence and please don't try to recreate the situation with anybody. I strongly condemn these activity.

Also, all the suggestions are wholeheartedly welcome.

Till next update, tk cr bbyee
