Hey my lovely readers.

How are you all?

Are you all enjoying the book so far?

Please listen to the song above. I literally had tears.

I was feeling Akash's emotions while writing this chapter-Nothing's gonna change my love for you. I think that's what Akash wants to say to Siya so I thought of sharing it with you all.

Although the video is from the movie UP, even this video makes me cry, how in the end, he's left alone.

Why is being in love and fighting for it so difficult?

Also, one of my constant readers asked for my autograph and I couldn't hide my excitement.

Huhh...it feels so good that my work is being appreciated and I am actually feeling like a star.

Thank you my dear reader. You literally made my day (giggling like a little kid).

Chapter dedicated to you my dear. I won't disclose your identity but I hope you know who you're.

Let's begin with the chapter now.

Akash's POV

After having dinner, it was time to finally say goodbye to mom dad.

Even Siya's father had come along to airport to drop her off and I am glad he obliged by my request not to bring her mother along.

I was not at all in a mood to see her, let alone meet her and talk to her.

That woman is a perfect example of toxic parent and I didn't want her to be anywhere around my Siya.

Even in future if Siya forgives her mother for what she did to her, I can never have a good relationship with her mother.

"I'll miss you, papa" she said and hugged her father.

"I'll miss you too, beta" he said in a hoarse voice and tightly hugged her.

Breaking the hug, he wiped her tears and asked "you'll be a good girl right?"

She nodded her head.

"You won't trouble Akash, right?" he asked again and she shook her head.

I was mesmerized by her innocence and the bond the father daughter duo shared.

I always knew daughters were always father's princess but it was such an emotional sight to see them both.

Though her father was wrong he accepted his mistake and I couldn't ignore the fact how well he was trying to take care of her, even though she was causing him a lot of trouble.

"That's like my good girl" he said and kissed her forehead.

Then he turned to my parents and folding his hands said "I know you both are not very fond of what happened and how we behaved with you both but I just want to say, I am sorry."

Dad immediately took his hands in his and shook his head.

"We don't have any grudges against you, Mr. Verma. We were only concerned about Siya because she deserves the world. She has been nothing but a good daughter to you both. I am just slightly disappointed in you because she needed your protection from her mother and this was required since the time she was growing" dad said.

"Our children are like delicate flowers when they grow and we being parents are responsible for guiding them to follow the right path. It's high time you should be a little selfish and think about your child, not about some good for nothing relatives who didn't even check on you or your family once Siya's wedding was cancelled" he said.

"I know, it's somewhere my fault as well. If only I would've supported Siya a little instead of listening to my wife, my daughter would've never been in this situation" he said, looking down.

"It's okay Mr. Verma. What's done is done. We're glad you now realize your mistake but we only expect you to support us now" mom said, smiling at him.

"Of course, I'll do anything for my daughter" he said and turned to me.

"There was a time when you asked me to take care of my daughter but I couldn't. I am so shamed at myself for being such a good for nothing father" he said.

(Readers who don't remember, please refer chapter-112, I'll take her away. In the flashback scene, Akash had asked Siya's father to take care of her while he was finally leaving her flat).

I shook my head and hugged him.

I felt him crying on my shoulder and I felt so bad for lashing out at him when I met him at his house.

Breaking the hug, I said "don't worry, I'll take care of your daughter with my life."

"I know you will" he said.

Turning to mom dad, I hugged them and mom had tears in their eyes.

"Oh mom, it's not like I am going for forever. I'll come back" I said and she nodded.

"Why can't you open your branch in India?" she asked, her voice hoarse by now.

"I'll think about it" I said and went to dad.

Patting my back, he said "take care and take care of Siya as well."

"I will, dad" I said.

"I think we should go now" I said and looked at Siya who was looking at the jet with wide eyes.

I chuckled looking at her big innocent eyes.

"Beta, please take care of her, she's as you know scared of bright lights" her dad said.

"I know uncle. Don't worry, I'll take care of her" I said.

"Shall we" I said, going to her, making her startled.

"You scared me" she said, keeping her hands on her heart.

I chuckled and holding my ears said "sorry."

"It's okay" she said and proceeded to the jet while I bid my final goodbyes to mom dad.

Once inside the jet, she sat on the recliner while I sat on the recliner opposite to her.

I was just gazing at her and she was looking outside the window like a child was travelling in plane for the first time.

Since it was already night, I thought of asking her if she's sleepy.

"Do you...do you want to sleep?" I asked her.

"Yes I think it would be better if I sleep" she said, looking at me.

"Okay, you can go to the bedroom if you want. Do you want me to take you there?" I asked.

She nodded.

Pulling her up with me and grabbing her hands, I took her to the bedroom and made her lie on the bed.

I sat beside her and gently caressed her hair.

"Akash, can I ask you something?" she asked after a few minutes of silence.

"Yes Siya, anything" I said.

"Sid and Kriti...are they still together?" she asked.

"Yes, they're" I said.

"They're actually in a live-in relationship and are going strong as ever" I said.

"Oh" she said.

I saw her deep in thoughts so I asked her "what're you thinking?"

"Nothing" she said and I saw a lone tear escape her eyes.

"What happened, baby, please tell me" I asked, wiping her tears.

"I always wanted them to be together. I am so glad that if not us, at least they had the chance to be together" she said in a hoarse voice.

I was dumbfounded at what she said but it was rather true.

Even though Sid and Kriti had their share of ups and downs before they got committed but once they were together, they never broke apart and are going stronger than before but when I look at Siya and me, we've had many hurdles and we had spent so much less time together.

If only I wouldn't have listen to her mother back then and would've taken her with me, we would've been together and happy, if not married.

Though we had spent less time with each other as compared to Sid and Kriti but I know, we were stronger than before.

Also, I know for a fact that we both could go to any extent to be together and I am glad I found someone like her.

"I am happy for them too, Siya" I said.

"Where's she?" she asked looking at me.

"Sid and Kriti are in Canada" I said.

"Oh" she said.

"You missed her, right?" I asked, still stroking her hair.

"I missed her, a lot and still miss her" she said.

"When she was leaving me and going to her parent's house, I had the urge to stop her, hug her and cry but she had already made up her mind. You were already gone from my life but I was expecting her to stay. I know she had her reasons and I can never blame her for cutting all ties with me but if only..." she trailed off.

I know we've all hurt her a lot knowingly or unknowingly.

Even though we had our reasons but she was closest to me and Kriti.

I don't know how she managed without us but, she did.

"You had a friend in your office who helped you in taking sabbatical leave, right?" I asked.

"Yes, Rashmi. She suggested papa to take sabbatical leave" she said, emotionlessly.

(Readers who don't remember, please refer chapter 39-Are you for real? While introductions of interns, Rashmi was the one with whom the introductions started. Also, she reported to Akash as per the name initial)

"As far as I remember, she reported to me" I said.

"Yeah, she reported to you" she said.

"Then why didn't she contact me to let me know about you when everything about you and me was already known to everyone in the project?" I asked.

When I looked down, I saw Siya was already in deep sleep.

Kissing her forehead I was contemplating whether to stay here or leave her alone.

I don't know if she would be comfortable with me sleeping beside her.

I decided to sleep in the other bedroom and I would check her every 2-3 hours.

Yeah, that would be fine.

I made my way to the other bedroom while thinking about to talk to Rashmi because she is the only one who could tell me what exactly happened at the office after Siya's marriage was cancelled.

My eyes jerked opened when I heard sounds of faint whimpers from Siya's room.

Quickly making my way to her room, I saw her face covered in sweat and she was mumbling something very incoherent.

"Siya" I touched her shoulder and shook her lightly so as to wake her up but she was thrashing and shaking her head from one side to the other.

"Siya" I said and shook her again, this time a little harshly and she jerked open her eyes.

"I...I didn't do anything. I am not characterless...I am pure" I heard her mumbling and I immediately hugged her.

Tears were making it's way to my eyes looking at her state.

She was having a nightmare.

"Shhh...shhh. I am here, baby. I am here" I cooed in her ears.

"I didn't do anything, please believe me" she cried in my arms and my hold on her tightened.

"Shhh..Shhh I believe you, Siya. You didn't do anything" I said.

"No Akash...nobody believes me. Please make them understand that I didn't do anything wrong with you" she said.

"Shhh...shhh baby. Please don't cry" I said and broke the hug.

Looking in her eyes, I said "I believe you. I believe only you."

"You...you believe me?" she said and I nodded.

"I trust you, Siya. Blindly" I said.

"But..but they don't trust me" she said with tears in her eyes.

"Who?" I asked in confusion.

"My...my relatives and colleagues" she mumbled but it was loud enough for me to hear.

My blood boiled at the thought.

Even if the situation isn't that severe, people around us tend to make it severe by simply exaggerating it or reminding the person repeatedly.

This is what has happened with Siya.

Even though her marriage was called off at the altar, it wouldn't have affected her much if her relatives and colleagues hadn't made a fuss about it.

So what if the marriage was called off, that's not the end of life. Sure it could be a very big deal for a girl but I knew it very well that my Siya was strong enough to cope up with it had she not been repeatedly reminded about it by her so called good for nothing relatives and colleagues.

It's not because of the incident she went into depression, it was the constant reminders and taunts by people that acted as a catalyst for her slipping into it.

"Shh...there's none of your relative or colleague present here. You need not prove your innocence to anyone" I cooed and she looked up from my chest.

She looked around and as if realizing something, she backed away from me.

"I...I woke you up, right?" she asked in a low voice.

"No baby, you didn't" I said, caressing her cheeks.

"Your eyes are telling me that you just woke up" she said.

"It doesn't matter" I said, smiling.

"It does, Akash. At home, papa used to wake up because of me and now, you" she said and looked down.

"Hey, hey. You'll always be my priority, Siya. Don't ever think about you bothering or disturbing me. I love you. I always have and always will. I can go to any lengths for you" I said, caressing her cheeks.

She leaned on to my touch and closed her eyes.

"You should sleep now" I whispered and she nodded, opening her eyes.

When she lied down, I covered her with the comforter.

"Sleep, baby" I said and kissed her forehead.

When I was about to get up from the bed, she tugged at my wrist and said "please stay."

I looked back at her and said "are you sure?"

"Yes" she said.

Sighing, I lied beside her and I saw her closing her eyes.

"Good night, my world" I whispered looking at her and slept.

My eyes fluttered open when there was a gentle knock on the door.

Stretching my limbs I opened the door to see the air hostess.

"Yes?" I asked.

"Sir, the jet is about to land in fifteen minutes. Just wanted to let you know" she said.

"Okay. We'll be out in sometime. Thank you for informing" I said.

"Your welcome, sir" she said and walked away.

Making my way to Siya's side, I slightly shook her and she opened her eyes.

"Baby, we're about to reach. Why don't you freshen up?" I said.

"Okay" she said in sleepy voice and woke up.

She made her way to the bathroom while I went to freshen up in the other bedroom.

Once done with the showering, I made my way to Siya's bedroom and saw her wearing her shoes but she was facing difficulty as the she wasn't able to tie the strap of her shoes.

I saw her struggling for a few seconds and then she groaned in frustration.

Chuckling I made my way to her and said "may I?"

She got startled but then said "no it's okay, Akash. I can manage."

"Yes, I saw how you managed. Why don't you let me help you?" I asked.

"Because I don't want you to touch my feet" she said.

"Why?" I asked.

"I don't like you bending for me" she mumbled but I heard it.

"For you, I am ready to bend my whole life, this is just tying your shoes" I said and gestured her to sit down.

She sighed but plopped on the bed anyways.

Bending, I took her feet in my hands and rested it on my knees and did the same with the other.

Once the straps were tied, I looked at her to see that she was already looking at me.

"You're the only woman I'll bend for, gladly" I said and saw her eyes softening.

Standing up from the floor, I placed my hands in front of her which she took in her hands.

Right on cue there was an announcement that the jet has arrived at the airport.

"Welcome to New York, Siya" I said, smiling at her.

She returned the smile and her smile was enough to fill me with the much needed courage.

The courage to bring my old Siya back, without depression, without nightmares, without fear of anybody or anyone, ready to face the world.
