Sara awoke to the strange and unfamiliar feeling of hard rocks pressing into her skin as a chilly breeze wafted over her nightdress clad body.

Her eyes opened to see a strange man in front of her with a bowl of some sort of liquid or food.

"Morning your highness, I hope your new living conditions are not a problem," he said with a definitely evil smirk.

Sara looked around taking in her surroundings and seeing nothing more than the inside of a cave with a warm fire going.

Her eyes went wide in horror as she looked down and saw her wrists and ankles were bound by rope.

"Who are you and why on Earth am I tied up? By the way I can you please untie me, the ropes are a little tight?" She demanded.

"You've just noticed you're restrained and already you're trying to trick me into letting you go," he laughed.

"Well it's the least you can do after rudely kidnapping me," she muttered.

"Don't forget poisoning you as well," he admitted proudly.

"You were the one that poisoned me?!"

"Guilty as charged, my queen," he said.

"Why are you calling me a queen and would you just let me go?! I have nothing to do with any feud or rivalry you may have," she said as she tried to untie her ropes, with a lot of difficulty.

"And what's the point of letting you go when I have worked so hard to capture you, the King's long awaited beloved. The King is so worked up about finding you a cure that I doubt he has noticed your absence yet. I've already given you the antidote to the poison that I've crafted, as soon as I got you here," he said.

She really just wanted to get back into bed and not deal with a crazy kidnapper, who just seemed weird. He was like some comic book supervillain, kidnapping a girl just to draw out the hero whilst manically giving away his entire plan. He had not given away his plan entirely but he had given away everything he had done. It was kind off boring for her.

"Do you have a phone for me to play on if you're not planning on releasing me? I'm feeling rather bored and also do you maybe have a bed or some pillows because these rocks are hard," she asked.

"What is a phone?"

"Are you seriously that backward?"

"How dare you-"

"I just want a phone to play on. I'm bored and as my captor is it not your responsibility to entertain me?" She asked.

"Look here little queen, that's not how it works-"

"Would you stop calling me a queen? I am not royalty. I just want a phone to play on or something to do. I mean what else am I supposed to do when I am tied up like a damsel in distress. You put me in this situation, you have to entertain me," she said.

"No I don't. I kidnapped you. Understand that. You are my hostage. I get to do what I want with you," he said.

"Well someone did not read Kindapping someome 101," she muttered.

"And what's that?"

"A book that tells you precisely how to kidnap someone and the rules of kidnapping. If you kidnap someone you have to entertain them or else they will annoy you until your head explodes. Rule 55," she said.

"Head explodes?"

"Mhm. I wouldn't think too much of it," she replied sweetly.

"Look I do not have a phone or whatever thingy. I don't know what that is and I'venever seen one in my life. So would you please-"

"You're annoying me," she said.

"How does the King put up with you?! Can't you just be well behaved like any other kidnapped she-wolf!" He said enraged.

"Hey! You know that's really offensive. You are so sexist. Calling women wolves. Also it's more like, how do I put up with him. He is usually controlling and just like you, sexist. He believes I can't do anything myself and that it is okay to lock me up in a room for two weeks alone," Sara said.

"I would not mind doing that right now," her kidnapper muttered, very much annoyed.

"So where can I find this book on kidnapping rules? Maybe you can read it silently like a good quiet girl if I get it?" He said rubbing his head in frustration.

"Can you untie me so I can draw a map. I don't do well with directions," she said.

"Fine just don't escape," he said untying her wrists.

She then began to draw a map in the sand.

"It's not too good and I could not include this place because I don't know where I am but I'll run you through the map. See you need to journey right through the forest until you reach the town. When you get there you must go to Church Street. There is a bookshop there and you can ask the sales attendant where the book is," she said.

"What is a sales attendant?"

"Stop acting like an idiot. It's a long trip," she said.

He rolled his eyes and walked out the cave, feeling very confused by the girl's strange words such as phone and sales attendant.

"Finally," Sara muttered once the kidnapper had left the cave.

Her hands immediately began to untie the ropes binding her ankles together and she winced as the rope pulled against her rope burnt skin.

She stretched as she stood up and she snuck out the unguarded cave.

Maybe someone needed to write a real Kidnapping someone 101 book for kidnappers who were stupid enough to leave their hostages unguarded and untied although it had worked well in her favour that he was so negligent.

The sound of a loud howl echoed through the forest the second she left the cave. The sound had her trembling for an unknown reason, probably because it was so strong and it made her shake in fear and also anticipation.

She began to climb down the rocky cliff, praying hard not to fall as she looked down.

The last time she escaped from a high place it had not seemed as terrifying. Maybe the rain had prevented her seeing how high she was or the adrenaline had just kept her going.

It was likely the theory of adrenaline because normally she was terrified of heights.

"Sara!"

She looked down shaking as she heard her name called and she strangely saw Adam right below her.

"Sara what are you doing up ther-"

"A-Adam help. I'm afraid of heights," she said.

The confused King did not know what to think of that statement when he had found her on a high cliff.

"It's okay Sara. Jump and I'll catch you. I promise," he assured her.

She glanced down and felt really unsure of the validity of that statement.

"Trust me Sara," he said.

The rocks held by her one hand began to crumble and the fright had her letting go.

She screamed as she plummeted down through the air before she felt a pair of strong arms surrounding her.

"See I caught you," he said as she leaned into him.

"Now come we are going back to the castle, fromwhere you will not be escaping again," he said.

"But I-"

"Sara poisoning is serious. You poisoned yourself just to escape me. I was so worried about you and you just disregarded that in a bid to escape," he said.

"But I was-"

"No buts Sara. You'll be coronated as my queen tonight. I tried my best for you. I tried to be accommodating and I'll admit I had a few slip ups because I am not perfect but you refused to even think of seeing things my way," he said.

"Adam please listen to me," she cried out.

"Fine then let me hear it," he said.

"I was kidnapped Adam. I was kidnapped and the same person was the one that poisoned me," she said.

"If you were kidnapped then why did you not wait for me to come and rescue you?"

"Adam aren't you at least somewhat proud that I saved myself?" She asked.

"Saved? You endangered your life on the side of a cliff. If I had not found you when I did you could- no would have died. It was inevitable that the rocks by your hand would have slipped whether or not I was there. They would have slipped, you would have fallen and you would be dead right now. Sara I would have found you and rescued you," he said.

"And what if you never came?! I understand that there is something weird up with you and your people but you don't have the nose of a dog or anything. What if you did not find me? What if I got seriously hurt because I did not escape?" She asked annoyed.

"Fine then you've made your point. Let's just go back to the castle," he sighed.

"There is another dinner tonight and tomorrow night there will be a ball to announce you to the nation as their future queen," he said.

"But I said I was giving you a second chance and only that. I never agreed to be your queen-"

"Well my apologies Sara but the truth is that I can only have you as my queen,  you have no idea how long my people have waited for a queen. You'll be the first queen in centuries. At the dinner you will have to act properly. As in allow me to feed you-"

"The first queen in centuries?! What about the other queens? Was your mother not a queen?-" Sara asked confused.

"Oh she was a queen," he said.

"By title? You said centuries?"

"I can't spoil all the surprises for later kitten," he said.

"Don't call me that," she said blushing slightly at the nickname.

"Then suggest another cute nickname," he said.
