SIXTEEN
Callie

I stare at Miller and Penelope who look to be in some sort of heated conversation.

"Cal, you look like you're ready to murder someone." Poppy giggles and I blink and look at my best friend.

"I'm in my office if you need me," I tell her and she nods and I begin to make my way down the corridor and towards my office.

Once I slip through the doors, I jump in shock when I'm tackled into a massive bear hug. A squeal escapes my mouth when I'm lifted into a strong pair of arms.

"Sunshine." I look down at Everest in amusement. He grins up at me and I smile, running my fingers through his curly dark brown hair. "Hi." He whispers and places me back down on my feet.

"Hi," I whisper back, and a grin etches on his face.

Then I look at his attire.

Joggers and a hoodie.

"This is a very casual look for work, Everest. I'm pretty sure it's against the uniform policy." I raise my eyebrows at him, and he chuckles lightly before pinching my hip. "Stop doing that." I huff.

"Sorry, can't help it." He smirks and I roll my eyes.

"What are you doing in here?" I question him, and he shrugs his shoulders, keeping his hands sitting comfortably on my waist.

"Missed your face." He mumbles and I raise my eyebrows at him.

"You saw me this morning, Ev." I look at him in amusement, and again he shrugs and pulls me into a tight hug again.

"But I want to see you all the time." He whines like a baby and I can't help but sigh. "Did you have fun last night?" My face falls instantly, and I pull away to look at him with wide eyes. "Sounded like it." He continues, and I can feel my body heat up in embarrassment.

"What?" I whisper.

Was I that loud?

"Honestly, sunshine, your sweet moans were doing something to me, had me going fucking crazy." Everest continues to tease me and I have to turn away from him. He then reaches forward and strokes my cheeks. "Would you do that for me one day, baby?" He whispers seductively and I gulp.

His thumb runs along my bottom lip and my mouth opens a little in shock.

"You're not upset?" I question, tilting my head.

His eyes furrow and he shakes his head.

"Why would I be jealous, sunshine? You're ours, aren't you?" I nod. "I have no reason to be upset, cause unless it was someone other than myself and the other two, then I'd be pissed off."

"Right." I nod. "Okay." I place my hands onto my burning hot cheeks and go to say something but jump when my office door flies open again.

Phoenix walks in with a rose in his hands, I raise my eyebrows as the tattooed man makes his way over to and holds the flower out towards me.

"For me?" I whisper and he nods his head. A huge smile etches onto my face and I take the rose from his hands and then throw my arms around him. "That's so sweet of you, Nix." I beam, and he responds by tightening his arms around me.

"I was going to do that, you know, but I couldn't find a flower shop," Everest speaks out and I playfully roll my eyes.

There's one right next to our office building.

"Okay, Ev." I nod my head and he copies my actions.

"I'm gonna be away for a couple of days," Everest speaks out and my face drops.

"What?" I whisper in disappointment.

"I'm sorry, sunshine. I'll try and make it back for you as early as I can." He reassures me, holding my face gently in between his warm hands. "Plus, I know I'm your favourite, so I don't want you to miss me too much." He winks, and I decide to lightly hit him round the head.

"I don't have favourites, I like you all equally." I huff.

"Come on, there has to be one of us you like a little more." He squints his eyes but I shake my head.

"No, but if you keep annoying me, you'll be my least favourite." I point, and his eyes widen before he does a zip lock motion against his lips and throws away a pretend key.

"Where are you going?" I question Everest, curious as to why he has to go away for a couple of days.

"Meeting with another business. We're thinking about merging." My eyebrows raise at the newfound information.

"Merging with who? Do I know them?" I tilt my head and jump a little when I feel Phoenix step behind me and wrap an arm around my waist.

"You don't, princess." He whispers and I slowly nod my head.

"So it's your illegal business?" His body tenses and I step out of his hold and turn to look at him with raised eyebrows.

"What are you talking about? What illegal business?" I look at Phoenix in disbelief.

Is he joking me right now?!

"I'm not fucking stupid. I know you do illegal shit on top of this!" I hiss and watch as his face hardens.

"Watch your words, Callie. You don't know what you're saying." Phoenix says in a low voice.

"Or what?" I put my hands on my waist.

Miller then walks in with a smile on his face, but it soon falls when he sees the tense atmosphere that we're in.

"What's happened?" He questions straight away, and I scowl at him also.

"Is Penelope part of your illegal business?" He looks taken back by my question and looks at Phoenix and Everest with wide eyes.

"My love, I have no idea —"

"Stop lying to me. You want me to be in a relationship with the three of you, and you're already lying to me." I throw my hands in the air.

"Sunshine, it's compl—"

"Shut the fuck up." Phoenix hisses at him and Everest snaps his mouth closed.

"How can you stand there and lie to me about what you're doing?" I whisper, my voice filled with hurt.

I've had my suspicions since that weird business party we went to a few weeks back. But I know my suspicions are correct when I see people walk around with guns and the fact they hired Luca as a hacker. Since when has the company needed a hacker?

"Please don't be upset, love." Miller walks over to me and grabs hold of my hands.

"What does Penelope do?"

He bites his bottom lip and I watch as he begins to stutter over his words.

I roll my eyes.

Men are shit liars.

"We can't form a relationship that's already being built on lies." This is the last thing I say before walking out of my office.

•••

I've walked past the men's office a few times now, and every time I can feel their eyes on me. I even caught Everest's eyes moving up and down my body and him biting his lip.

Did they not take in the last thing I said to them earlier on?

Of course they didn't.

I bite the insides of my cheeks and decide to storm into their office, dropping my folders in front of Miller.

"Are you okay now, Callie? Should we talk now?" Miller is the first to speak.

"There's nothing to fucking say." Phoenix mumbles and I release a small laugh.

"So you're okay with lying to me?" I ask him.

"Not lying."

"You are."

"We're not."

"Sunshine, let's just forget this conversation even happened." Everest holds his hands up in the air when I throw him a harsh glare.

"Okay. If you want to continue to lie that's fine but I  refuse to be in a relationship that revolves around it." I smile at them and watch as Everest raises his eyebrows as if he doesn't believe me.

"Callie —"

"I'm your assistant, nothing more, nothing less." I give the three men a small smile and pick up the folders from the desk. "So stop eye fucking me every time I walk past your office, or I'll stab you all in the neck"

Phoenix glares.

Everest smirks.

Miller frowns.

With that, I throw them one last warning look before walking out of the room, slamming the door behind me.
