Callie

"Nearly done, Callie." Skull informs me as he continues to work on my back tattoo.

I've been laying here for nearly 3 hours but I know it will be worth it.

"Thanks, Skull." I smile.

"No Phoenix today? The grumpy sod usually comes along with you to your appointments." I slightly turn my head to look at him and see the smirk etched on his face. "I'm surprised he didn't do this himself."

"He said he would of." I smile and he playfully rolls his eyes. "I've got to get ready after this for some business party with them all." I huff, knowing I'm going to be a walking zombie by the time it gets to around midnight.

These business parties can last until the early hours of the morning.

"You poor thing." Skull laughs.

After twenty more minutes, Skull is finally finished with my tattoo. I stand up and take a look in the mirror, my eyes widening as I look at his beautiful piece of work. A trail of different sized butterflies trails all along my spine and I grin in excitement!

I can't wait to show Phoenix! We always show each other our new tattoos.

"Skull this is amazing! Thank you so much!" I pull him into a hug and he chuckles, wrapping his arms around me.

"I'm glad you like it, Cal. Tell my brother I said hi." He smirks and I nod my head.

As soon as I get home I get a text message from Miller telling me that he'll pick me up at eight.

That's in an hour!

"Shit!"

I quickly shower and then I begin to find a dress to wear. I rummage through my wardrobe, a frustrated groan escaping my lips. All these dresses and I can't even pick one!

My eyes then fall to a backless satin dress that has a plunge neckline โ€” a smirk etches onto my face as I take it out my wardrobe and lay it out on my bed.

This will do.

I grab some heels and jewellery and throw it all on.

Miller will be here in twenty minutes.

I check myself out in the mirror and smile at myself.

I look hot.

I turn around and admire my new tattoo which can be seen because of the backless dress. I've tied my curly hair up in a bun, with two strands framing the front of my face.

I spray my favourite perfume and then grab my bag, making my way out of my bedroom just in time because I hear a knock at the door.

I make my way over to the front door and open it to reveal Miller stood in an expensive looking tuxedo. His eyes widen when they land on me and a short breath escapes his lips.

"Wow. I-Wow." He pulls at his collar a little and looks away, a blush etching onto his face. "You look beautiful, love." He smiles and I smile back.

"You look very handsome." I adjust his bow tie and look up into his deep brown eyes.

I instantly look away.

Professionalism was about to be thrown out of the window just then.

"You ready?" He smiles, holding his arm out for me.

I nod my head and shut the door before linking my arm with his.

I spot his white jeep and smile because I know it's one of his pride and joys.

"The other two are already there, they had to sort out a few......complications." Miller pauses mid sentence and my eyebrows furrow.

"Is everything okay now?" I question in concern and Miller nods.

"It is now." He smiles down at me before opening up the car door for me.

I thank him and climb into the passenger side. A satisfied sigh escapes my lips when I rest against the heated seats.

"I knew you'd like that." Miller smiles as he climbs into the drivers side.

"It's so comfy." I whisper.

I observe Miller and can still see the light blush on his cheeks and the back of his neck. I tilt my head.

"Is there something on my face?" He questions, keeping his eyes on the road. My own eyes widen and I look back ahead.

"No." I simply answer.

We sit in comfortable silence as Miller drives to the business party.

"You're tense, Callie." Miller points out as we enter the car park.

"Am I?" I question and then notice how tense my shoulders are.

We park up and then Miller turns his body towards me.

"Are you okay?" I give him a tight-lipped smile and nod my head. "Make sure you're with at least one of us at all times tonight, my love. There are some people at this party that can't be trusted. Okay?" He tells me sternly.

"Yes." I whisper.

"Good girl." He smiles and climbs out of the car.

My mouth falls open and my face heats up.

The door to my side opens and Miller holds his hand out for me. I place my hand in his large one, feeling the coolness of his rings.

He doesn't pull away even when he locks the car. He keeps his hand in mine as we walk into the building.

The party is being held in a rooftop bar so we enter a lift together along with a few other people. Miller squeezes my hand and I look up at him to see that he has an anxious look on his face.

He's not good with confined spaces so I squeeze his hand back and when he looks down at me I give him a reassuring smile.

I keep a hold of his hand, especially when more people begin to enter the lift. His body tenses and he ends up pulling me closer to his body. As soon as it is just us two, he releases a huge sigh and his body relaxes.

"Thank you, my love." He whispers and I nod, biting my lip.

I step to the side a little and let go of his hand.

We reach the top floor and step out together. I look around to see that there is already a lot of people here. I jump a little when I feel Miller place his hand on my lower back and lead me through the crowd.

"Lovely tattoo, Callie." He leans down to whisper in my ear and my heart skips a beat.

"Thanks." I whisper but I doubt he can hear me over the sound of everyone's chatter.

As we walk through the crowd I make eye contact with a bald man that is covered in tattoos. An unsettling smirk etches onto his face before he picks up his glass and takes a sip of the alcoholic drink โ€” most likely whiskey.

I look away and my body relaxes when I see the familiar faces of Phoenix and Everest โ€” their mouths are slightly open as we approach them.

"Sunshine, you look beautiful." Everest whispers breathlessly and I smile.

Everest has ditched the suit jacket but has a cream turtle neck on with a pair of light grey suit trousers. I look over at Phoenix who is dressed in an all black suit.

They all look so handsome.

"Look Phoenix!" I say in excitement and turn to show him my tattoo.

I look over my shoulder to see him staring at my back, his jaw clenched.

My smile drops.

"You don't like it?" I whisper in disappointment and turn back round so he can no longer see it.

"It's beautiful, princess." He gives me a stern nod and I slowly nod my head.

"Remember what I told you, love. Please don't go wondering off on your own." Miller looks down at me in concern and I furrow my eyebrows.

I go to speak but look at a man walk past that tucks a gun in the waistband of his trousers.

"What the hell have you three brought me to?!"
