The wedding preparations had begun in earnest. Cassie had finally worked up the nerve to meet Calvin's family and surprisingly they welcomed her wholeheartedly. His mother had complimented nearly every move she made. She later found out that she was the first woman Calvin had ever chosen to get married to and somehow, she wasn't surprised.

Calvin and Cassie's mother's had become best friends and together with Mrs. Flora, they made preparations for a wedding they wanted to be recorded in the sand of history.

•••••••••••••••••••••••
Cassie had had enough. She was tired of pretending to be getting married to Mr. Carter for love. Sure she had fallen hard for him although she would never tell him that, she felt guilty for leading her mother and every damed well wished on. It was painful to think that after all these preparations, when her boss got what he wanted, he would immediately end the marriage. "This had to end now!" And with that thought, she walked into Mr. Carter's office.

••••••••••••••••••
Calvin had just decided to tell Cassie that he was getting married to her for love and that his intentions had changed when she walked into his office looking sad.

"Sir, I have decided to inform my mother about the conditions for our marriage. I want her to know the truth. It's not in my nature to lie to my mother. If you don't mind sir, I'd really want to go home and inform her now. It's already past my closing time, so, um..... goodnight sir." Cassie said and walked out of his office without even waiting to hear his response.

Calvin was dumbstruck. He didn't know what to do. Should she do what she just said, the wedding would be off and he just couldn't let that happen. He called out to Cassie just as she reached the road to call a taxi. As she turned to look at him, a black car parked behind her and three men all on black with masks on, jumped out of the car and caught her hand and mouth quickly binding her as she struggled. Calvin was running when one of the men pulled out a gun and pointed to him daring him to come any closer. They tied Cassie's hands, legs and mouth, deprived her of oxygen until she fell unconscious, and they bundled her into the car and drove away leaving Calvin who immediately phoned the police and ran to the garage for his car.

As he entered the car his phone began to ring. He looked at the caller ID. It showed Cassie's mum. He looked down the road, the car had zoomed out of sight. He sighed and answered the call. Evelyn's lively voice came bursting through the phone.

"Calvin, where's Cassie? She's not picking up her phone ."  Calvin thought of an excuse and came up with the first one that entered his mind.

"She's still working and I think her phone went off just now." After a pause, he added.

"Um, ma'm I just wanted to inform you that Cassie will be staying at my house for the night and maybe the next."

"Aww" Evelyn cooed. "But just make sure you both make it in time for the cake tasting. It's two days from now at 7pm."

"Okay, we'll be there." Calvin said and hung up. He had no idea of what to do. He had two days to find Cassie or her mother would find out. Then the idea struck him - probably Claire could help. She was Cassie's friend, wasn't she?
