So I didn't get too many votes on making this story but I got a lot of requests for part two so here it is....

The group managed to escape and get away from the officers after them. Now they were in the woods, sitting around a campfire.

"This is really happening," Jazmine says quietly. "This is really it."

"It could be worse," Huey says. "We could be dead... Or enslaved."

Everyone gives him a "you're not helping" looking at Huey rolls his eyes.

"Mane, I miss my bed," Riley whines.

"No bullshit," Caesar agrees. Jada looks up at the sky, sighing.

"This was going to come soon," she says. "Society was already starting fall anyways."

"What we gon do?" Cindy asks.

"All we can do is survive at this point," Huey says. That night, there wasn't much chatter like normal. Everyone was still trying to process the fall of their country.

Inside the backpacks Huey gave them were bottles of water, cans of food, coats, and sleeping bags. Everyone got their sleeping bags out, spreading it around the fire. Jada stayed closer to Riley who didn't want nothing happening to his twin while he was sleep. Jazmine and Cindy slept close to each other for comfort and Caesar just put his sleeping bag closer to Huey since there was nowhere else to go.

"You got a plan, man?" Caesar asked his best friend who only sighed.

"Not really. But the main objective is living. We have to survive this," Huey replies. "He looked over at his younger brother and sister who were sleep. "I want them to survive this. I'd rather die than see anything happen to them."

Caesar nodded,

"I gotchu in this. Whatever you wanna do, I'm here."

Huey nods.

Sleeping wasn't as comfortable as everyone wanted it to be but they needed it in order to get through their long journey to come.

It was close to 6 AM when the teens heard barking again. The Freemans were the first to wake up, hearing the sound not too far away from them.

"Shit!" Huey cursed. He, along with his brother and sister, woke up the rest of the group, quickly getting their stuff together.

Everyone was already running, having the stuff back in their book bags. Except for Jazmine who was shaking and fumbling with her things. Jada quickly stuffed her sleeping bag in her book bag.

"We gotta go!" Jada grabbed Jazmine's hand, pulling towards the direction the rest of the group went. The barking got closer until Jada could see the dogs running behind her. "Jazmine, keep running! I'll catch!"

Jazmine looked at Jada as if she was crazy.

"Jada, no-"

"JAZMINE GO!"

Jazmine not wanting to get bit by a dog ran as fast as she could, trying to catch up with her friends. Jada picked up a stick that was on the ground and whistled at the dogs.

"Look what I got!" She taunted. Being dogs, they instantly wanted to play and followed the stick that was in Jada's hand. Jada threw it, making the dogs chase after it. The officers in charge of the dogs showed up not too long after and Jada smirked. "This'll be fun."

Jazmine caught up with the group. Huey and Riley looked at her, confused on why she was alone.

"Where's Jada?" Riley questioned.

"She just told me to keep running," Jazmine huffed, trying to catch her breath. "She... Wanted to fend them off and give us more time."

Riley and Huey cursed, knowing their sister and her heroic ways.

"We gotta go back," Riley tells his brother who was thinking the same thing.

"No!" Cindy grabbed his arm. "Yall leave and get caught, then what? We all going down!"

"Murph, let go!" Riley orders, "That's my sister back there."

"Look!" Caesar points and everyone looks, seeing Jada running towards them. There was one dog happily following behind her. Huey pulled out his gun, getting ready to shoot it.

"Wait!" Jada puts her hand up. "He's okay. He won't hurt us."

The dog goes to Jada's side, rubbing his head against her thigh.

"How did you do that?" Jazmine asks.

"No matter how they're trained, these dogs will always be lovers," Jada says, smiling at the pitbull terrier that was wagging it's tale.

Huey only looks at Jada and the dog before turning around. He motioned for the group to keep moving.

"So," Caesar looks over at Jada who was walking next to him, "You really stayed behind to give everyone more time?"

Jada nods,

"If I would've kept running, me and Jazmine would've got caught for sure. And Jazmine isn't exactly," Jada looks over a Jazmine, "a fighter. So someone had to hold down fort."

Caesar smirked, looking down at the small girl. He had always admired her but that was his best friend's little sister. That wasn't really a good look.

"I don't think Huey was too happy about it, thought," Caesar says. Jada looks over up at Caesar. "He made that face he always makes when he wants to deal with something later."

Jada rolls her eyes, sadly knowing what Caesar was talking about.

"It'll be fine," Jada waves it off. "If he yells, he yells. Not like I haven't been scolded before."

-_-

"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?" Huey whisper yells as everyone on the other side of the forest was setting up camp. "YOU COULD'VE GOTTEN CAPTURED. Or even worse KILLED."

Jada only listened to her brother, rolling her eyes. She expected no less.

"Do you have anything to say for yourself?" Huey questions.

"I'm fine though, right?" She says, "I didn't die and I didn't get captured. I didn't even almost get captured, Huey, I had everything under control."

Huey only looked at his sister and sighed,

"Jada, I know you like to be the hero and save everyone but these are tough times. I need you to listen and check in with me before you do anything rash."

"How was I supposed to check in with you? You left Jazmine like she didn't mean anything. What a leader you are."

Huey's scowl deepened. One side of him was mad that Jada insulted his leadership and brought Jazmine into this and the other was mad that she was right. Huey did leave Jazmine. A leader would never leave a man (or women) behind.

"And here I thought you actually liked her," Jada continues. Huey quickly covers her mouth, looking at the group. He didn't want anyone hearing that part.

"Shut up," He orders. Jada licks his hand, making him quickly remove it and wipe it off.

"It's already been obvious. Well, now it's not because you left her behind. Try and be a better leader Huey. You know Jazmine shakes like hell when she's scared. Instead of running away, maybe try and be the one to stay behind. You're the leader right? Act like it."

Jada walks away, Huey watching as she goes to the group, talking to them like their little chat didn't happen. But she was right, Huey did have to step his game up. Because if he kept his little leadership tactic up, they were bound to get caught.
