"Hye, I'm starting to get tired. Take off your contacts now so you won't have to worry about them later."

I look at the sea green color the lens gives her, and think of all the compliments she's gotten because of it. They seem to just pierce at you from behind her brown bangs.

"Mkay. When I'm done I'll go in your room."

I nod and we head upstairs.

+++

That night I thought of beating a group of people up. In the end I was standing in the middle of a pile of fallen men in black.

That's what you get for sending me that letter.

Suddenly I feel a stabbing pain. I look down and see blood spreading everywhere, a knife implanted in me.

There was another group of goons hiding behind me.

The pain blinds me, and I slowly fall...

+++

I wake up panting heavily and get up for a glass of water.

What was that? If it was Ha Joon that sent the letter, why did I dream otherwise?

I pour the water from the jug into a glass. When I finish, though, I hear footsteps from the front door.

Coming towards me.

The water splashes my foot as it hits the ground. I'm running.

I reach my room panting, tears streaming down my face-

-And I wake up.

"Ugh, am I actually awake now?!" I exclaim.

"Ow." I look and see Hye's arm falling down, a grin on her face and her eyes closed.

"You asked if you were awake, so I pinched you to let you know that you are."

Sweat covers my forehead and I try not to think of scary things as I lay my head down and fall back asleep.

+++

"Where should we go today?" I ask Hye as I take out a shirt from my closet.

"Hmm, I've been wanting to get some new clothes."

I snap my fingers and point at her. "The mall it is then!"

As we wait for our food we spot a bunch of cute guys and start doing what girls do.

Hye giggles. "No, dummy, I get the brunette and you can have the one with dyed hair!"

"But that one's cuter!"

"Exactly." She smirks. "They seem like surfers with those bodies, don't you think? Maybe we'll end up buying beach houses."

"And we'll be next-door neighbors." I smile.

"Of course. And then your boy will get injured on rock while surfing, and then you're going to have to sacrifice yourself to save him-"

I give her a look.

"Too much?" I nod, and we both laugh at the fantasy we've just created.

"In all seriousness, though, Kyung Mi, do you ever think you'd be willing to sacrifice yourself for the guy you love?"

I snort at the thought. "Never. I don't need a man in my life, silly. And I sure as hell won't ever give up my life for one."

After a few hours of going around shops and buying useless junk we don't need (as always) we decide to take a rest at a bench and try on the makeup we just got.

"Wait, this color is really good on me!" Hye exclaims, puckering her now darker lips.

I chuckle. "Try not to be too beautiful, Hye."

I suddenly feel a constant tapping on my back and turn around to see a little boy with a lollipop in his hand.

"Annyeong*!" I smile brightly at him.

"I know that 254 divided by 13 is about 19.5 but I'm having a little difficulty cube rooting that in my head. Do you know the answer?"

I look at him with my mouth open. This kid couldn't be older than eight years old and rooting is taught when you're in middle school!

I blink a few times before a voice says, "Oh, I'm sorry!" A woman comes up and scoops the boy up into her arms. She nods to me. "I apologize if he bothered you."

I shake my head and say "n-no...", still confused at the knowledge of this little kid.

She nods to me again before walking off.

Hye slaps my arm. "Don't be too surprised. As the generations go by, kids are getting smarter and smarter."

I look at her. "I mean sure but still..."

"Then again, there are more idiots in this world than before, too."

I laugh. "True. Should we go look at clothes now?"

"Call*!" She exclaims.

"Ooh, how's this one?" She tugs at a knee length royal blue dress with holes at the top of the sleeves.

I nod. "It's cute. Try it on." She smiles and goes to the changing rooms.

Suddenly someone shoves me and I see a man in a black hat with a black mask on-
-And I instantly jab him in his torso.

He springs back and groans, touching the affected area before glaring at me. "Yah*, what was that for?!" His voice is high.

My eyes go wide. "Oh, I'm sorry, are you okay?"

He takes off his cap and pulls down his mask and looks at me. My jaw drops. He's beautiful: deep black eyes like shimmering black holes and fluffy matching colored hair.

"I don't need you your apology. I just want to know why you elbowed me."

Suddenly my phone rings and I see Hye's name. I answer. "Yes?"

"Where are you? I thought you were outside the stall!"

I heave a sigh. "Hye I'm talking to someone right now. Just send a picture and meet me where we where before."

"Fine." She ends the call and I face the man again.

"I'm sorry for hurting you. It was on instinct and only because you shoved me."

He bows his head in apology. "Please forgive me."

Without thinking, I blurt out, "your voice is as cute as you." I internally facepalm myself. Thoughts to yourself, Kyung Mi!

Suddenly his head snaps up and he smirks. "Well, I've heard that a lot but not from a pretty girl like you."

I scoff. "If you're gonna flirt then at least make it good."

He takes a step closer, then another. There is little distance between us now.

"Better?" He breathes. I push him back and he laughs. "What's your name by the way?"

I look at him. "Why do you care?"

"So I know who to sue for hurting me." I give him a look. "I'm just curious." He shrugs.

"I'm Lee Kyung Mi, Mr. Bad at Flirting. What's your name?"

"Park Jimin." He replies, voice suddenly husky.
