             "IT look so nice." Kenzie said. "I can't believe we have our own place."

"Believe it." I said plopping down on our bed. "You chose a couch?"

"No, the ones they had was ugly." she said turning her face up. "Not like we finna have a lot of company anyway."

"I like the black one." I said grabbing my game controller.

"Black is boring."

"I've never heard you say that before." I said making her laugh.

"You're a pig." she said. "I'm about to take a shower, well no, let's go to Walmart right quick."

I smacked my lips. "C'mon babe I'm finna play the game."

"Taj I gotta get something to cook for tonight, please it's right up the street." she said. "Don't look at me like that."

"Damn man." I mumbled getting up and putting my shoes on.

"Stop pouting, would you rather starve?" she asked.

"I would have something to eat regardless." I said smacking her butt as she grabbed her keys and purse.

"Sir, this is a Wendy's." she mumbled as we walked out the apartment and she locked the door.

"You gotta fat ass." I said watching it move as she walked in front of me.

"Homegrown baby." she said. "This that Augusta booty."

"That shit stank." I said covering my face making her chuckle.

"You eat it." she shrugged.

"And do." I said. "That's supposed to be a secret."

"Oh well, cats out the bag." she said turning the radio stations. "He love this fat ass."

"That's all you're good for." I said making her laugh. "God bless the booty."

"Amen." she said.

"Amen." I nodded.

"I'm so happy we live this close to Walmart." she said as I pulled into the driveway. "We could've walked."

"Now you know..." I trailed off making her bust out laughing.

"I do not fuck with you." she said as I found a parking spot. "Like seriously."

"Why is everybody at the damn Walmart?" I asked turning my face up.

"It's Walmart sir, what'd you expect?" she said. "Grab a buggy."

I grabbed a buggy as she walked ahead of me I ran into her ankles with the buggy making her turn around and look at me. "What?"

"Why the fuck would you just do that?" she asked pushing me. "Always doing something damn child."

"Girl shut up before I run your ass down with this buggy." I said laughing

"What do you want to eat?" she asked.

"You." I winked making her turn her face up. "Okay girl fuck you."

"Boy what do you want to eat?" she said picking up a pack of ground beef. "Tacos?"

"No." I said. "I want fried rice."

"You always gotta do too much." she said grabbing a pack of chicken. "You lucky."

"No you lucky it's either make the fried rice cause I'm not paying for shit else but stuff to make it." I said making her look at my blankly. "I don't care."

"Get my name tattooed above your dick like on Tiger King." she said grabbing a bag of shrimp.

"Girl you just be saying shit." I mumbled looking at the old white lady who was staring at us. "Baby look how she looking at us."

"Who?" Kenzie looked up from the freezer.

"Ms. Daisy." I nodded towards her and Kenzie looked over at her. "That's your grandma?"

"You think you funny and you not." Kenzie said as I laughed.

"Bro I had to." I said jumping at the old lady making her flinch and hurriedly walk away. "Damn all in my face."

"But are you gonna get my name tatted like Tiger King?" she asked making me stare at her blankly. "You ain't no fun."

"Get my name tatted about your ass like a tramp stamp and I'll do it." I said.

"The difference between me and you is I'll really do that shit, pussy." she said. "Scary ass."

"Mommyyyyy." I said walking into my mama house seeing Justice sitting in the couch. "Wassup bum?"

"Your mama." she mumbled. "Give me some money."

"Excuse me?" I said. "A nigga just walked through the door, damn, can I get comfortable?"

"Can you give me some money?" she said again.

"Let me think about it." I said walking in the back to my mama room. "Mama your daughter out there begging."

She stared at me blankly making me chuckle. "You are annoying."

"I ain't even did shit." I said turning my face up as Tootie walked out the bathroom. "Get out my house!"

"Stop talking to me." she said pushing me. "Ugly."

"Mama Tootie called me ugly." I said.

"Tootie stop calling him ugly." my mama mumbled rolling her eyes.

I stuck my tongue out at Tootie. "You a kid."

"So." I said grabbing my mama candy.

"Put my shit down." she said making my mouth drop.

"That's crazyyyy." I said.

"I don't know why you sitting there looking stupid, put my shit down." she said and I threw that shit on the ground. "Pick my shit up Tajik!"

"You just said put it down Toya!" I said back. "Which one?"

"I'm finna beat the shout out of you." she said standing up making me pick them up off the floor.

"Mommy I gotta go get my wisdom teeth pulled." I said laying across her lap. "Can you take me?"

"Take yourself." she said.

"I can't drive after getting them pulled out." I said. "It's tomorrow."

"I have to work." she said. "Ask Toot."

"I'm not taking him nowhere but to hell." Tootie spoke.

"I don't want you to take me anyway, fat fuck." I said.

"Stop cussing." my mama said. "Toot take him to the dentist."

"I only need somebody to take me, Kenzie said she'll come get me." I said as Tootie stared at me.

"I'll do it." she said.

"I know you will." I said making her roll her eyes. "Mama go cook."

"Pooter please leave me the fuck alone." she said. "Go home!"

"I am home." I said.

"Your other home with your girlfriend, please. It's been so peaceful here." she said making me gasp.

"Fine, I'll go." I said. "I ain't gotta take this."

"Bye nigga." she said. "I love you though."

"Fuck that Toya!" I shouted moving out the way when she tried to hit me. "I'm leaving, you ain't gotta worry about me no more."

"Taj just sit down!" Kenzie yelled at me.

"I can't feel my tongue." I cried. "It hurts so bad."

"If you would take the damn medicine, you wouldn't be in pain." she said sitting me on the bed.

"You tryna drug me." I said standing back up. "You tryna drug me."

"Boy sit the fuck down!" she said making me sit on the bed. "Just lay down, Taj."

"You look so fucking stupid." Tootie said recording me. "I wish you could see how fucking stupid you look."

"Bitch get out my face." I said smacking her hand. "Kenzie get her!"

"Y'all is like two bad ass six year olds." Kenzie said. "Taj stop!"

"Get her, the spies can see me." I said covering my face.

"Please take this medicine." Kenzie put a pill in my hand. "So you can go to sleep."

"You tryna kill me!" I said making Tootie laugh.

"This is the funniest shit bro." she said. "I've never seen that medicine fuck somebody up like this."

"Tajik, listen to me." Kenzie said. "This medicine is to help with your pain, it's not going to kill you, you're gonna stay in pain if you don't take this."

"It's too big." I said.

"You want me to cut it in half?" she asked and I nodded.

"Makenzie!" I shouted when she walked out the room. "I love you!"

"I love you!" she shouted back.

"I love you!" I said staring at the walls. "I love you so much."

"I love you too." she said and I started crying. "Why are you crying?"

"Because I love you." I said. "Do you love me?"

"I love you, Taj." she said. "Here take this."

She put a half of the pill in my hand. "Now drink."

"I'm not gon die right?" I asked as she gave me the other half.

"No, you're not gonna die." she said holding my cup as I drink out the straw.

"Can you just lay with me?" I asked. "Please."

"I'll let myself out." Tootie said. "Bye Pooter, I love you."

"Bye." I waved. "Love you."

"I'm gonna go lock the door." Kenzie said leaving the room. "Okay, you wanna watch tv?"

I nodded as she climbed in bed and got comfortable, I laid my head on her chest and wrapped my arms around her. "I'm not gon die?"

"Taj no, it's just a Motrin." she said. "You'll he sleep in no time."

And I was.

"Good night sleepy head." Kenzie said when I finally woke up.

"How long I been sleep?" I asked touching my face.

"Since three this afternoon and it's 11 at night." she said. "Your mama brought you some soup, you hungry?"

"No." I shook my head.

"You still hurting?" she asked and I shook my head. "That's good."

"How was I?" I asked grabbing my phone.

"You kept crying and you thought the medicine was gon kill you, then you cried again and told me how much you loved me, then you fell asleep." she said. "Toot has you all over social media."

"She ain't shit." I mumbled clicking on her Instagram story to see me crying in the car.

"My tongue fell out." I said looking down at my chest crying hard as hell.

"Nigga it's gauze." she said laughing.

"I was gone." I said chuckling. "Last thing I remember them sticking me with that iv."

"Well you threw up because you ate that bag of chips after I told your slow ass not to." she said. "Nasty ass."

"That shit hurt so bad." I said as she got in bed.

"Well now you don't have to be in pain anymore about your teeth." she said. "My big baby."

"I'm finna go take a shower." I said standing up.

"Okay, be careful." she said.

"I love you."

"I love you too." she said.
