You got the window seat. You had won. You sat next to Dalton, who was stuck in the middle, and behind Carly who had decided she didn't want to drive. It was nice to know you had won something against Wade, watching as he was drove when he had wanted to sit passenger instead.

He turned the radio on, and turned up the volume on it so everyone could hear.

"Record crowds are expected for college football's biggest game of the year," the announcer on the radio... announced.

"It's gonna be packed tomorrow," Wade huffed, seemingly not liking the thought of driving and the thought of having to go out to some football game.
    "Really?" Carly asked.

"What sort of person even likes college football that mu... never mind. The answer is Blake," you said as you put your head against the window. It was sadly not a cold window.

"Dude, speaking of packed, my legs are killing me back here, man," Dalton whined, shifting around constantly to try and get into a better position. By doing so he was making you a lot more uncomfortable than you already were.

"Don't worry, man. It's not Wade's fault his little Hot Wheels car only fits two." Nick responded, his head propped up by hand as he stared at Wade's seat.

"It's more like a Shot Wheels car, isn't it, Wade?" Dalton paused for a second before carrying on, "Wade, what did you do, go to the barber and ask for a He-Man haircut, or what?"

He laughed at his own joke while Nick told him to shut up. Dalton hit Nick a few times and you could see he was laughing too. After a couple more hits Nick hit his pal back.

"Ow dude, you hurt me," Dalton said as he continued to laugh.

"What the hell is this?" Nick asked as he looked out the window to the car that Paige and Blake were in ahead of you.

There was a detour sign, and you were all now following the truck onto an unknown road. A grumble of disagreement came out of everyone as Wade followed the others.

"So much for his little shortcut. I hope he's not gonna get us lost," Wade sighed as he maneuvered the car to be next to the truck.

"Well if he does at least we won't have to sit through some game," you retorted. You'd much rather go to some cutesy diner in a small town than you would having to sit through a game of men tackling each other. Although Stephen kings 'you know they got a hell of a band' story did make a good point as to why maybe actually making it to the football game was a better outcome. (If you don't know what that story is I will tell you it if you want)

"Damn, yo!" Dalton called out as he began to hit Nick, "wake up wake up wake up."

He was looking across you out the window, you looked out as well to see what he was looking at. It was Paige. Doing... doing typical Paige things. Almost immediately Dalton took out his camera to record.

"Oh. My. God," Carly gasped as she looked up at the truck.

Dalton continued to make a bunch of comments about it while filming, meanwhile Wade began to honk the cars horn to alert the two over in the truck.

Paige looked up, and Blake smiled at the lot of you stuck in the tiny car.

"What are you doing- god look at his face," Carly's phone began to ring, "she's calling me."

Carly picked up the phone and immediately started with, "you are so busted."

Paige held up a small tiny tube to the window while saying something into her phone.

"Lip balm. She dropped her lip balm."

You cracked up at this one, "dude there's no way-"

"Yeah right you dropped your lip balm!" Dalton shouted to a closed window.

You all took a bit of time to stop laughing, Dalton wouldn't, before Carly asked Paige what was up.

She paused for a bit to give Paige time to reply before asking, "why don't we just camp out? I mean we're close enough, right?"

A bit more time.

    "Alright."

Blake honked his trunk horn as he started to drive ahead of the car again. Wade continued to drive behind him like you guys had been doing earlier.

"Hey, wax museum!" Wade pointed out a sign on the side of the road that announced 'Trudy's house of wax'. Now that was the type of tourist attraction that you could get into.

"You like that kind of stuff Wade?" Nick asked.

"Yeah, I don't know. Sometimes." He responses giving a slight shrug in response.

"Yeah, I guess if you like things pretending to be other things, which you obviously do. Right, sis?" He asked, looking at Carly's direction. She looked back at him, with something on her face that made her look both annoyed and offended.

She didn't say anything in response though, so there was that.

It was only about two minutes before Blake finally pulled into some abandoned lot surrounded by trees. You slid out of the car quickly and ran into the grass before falling on the ground and just laying there for a second. You liked every second that you were stuck in that small car, especially now that it was night and you could feel the cool breeze around you.

"[Name]! Get over here real quick and help us out!" Carly called out to you.

You sighed as you got up from the cushiony green and walked over to the two of them.

"What's up you guys?" You asked, leaning against the car as Carly opened the trunk and began to grab stuff from it.

"The thing. So... Paige, did you?" She asked carefully. You pondered this for a minute before realizing it was pregnancy thing. Paige had been scared that she was pregnant for a while now and was scared to tell Blake about it.

"Well... I couldn't. There's no point in freaking him out right now," she answered, looking down at the floor.

Carly put the stuff she was holding back in the trunk and walked to the other side, further away from everyone. You and Paige followed after her.

"As opposed to when you find out you are pregnant?" Carly asked, her eyebrow raised.

"Guys I'm not sure, okay?" Paige sighed, avoiding making eye contact with either of you.

"I just think you should have a conversation with him," Carly suggested. You put your hand on Paige's shoulder and awkwardly patted it.

"He's been looking forward to this stupid football game for months, and I don't want to ruin it for him by starting a fight."

"Paige, if he starts s fight over this then he's not really that great of a guy. Especially when it will have more or less been his fault for giving you a kid," you chipped in, removing your hand from the girls shoulder.

"Plus, he's not going to marry you. His parents won't let him," Carly told her gently. She looked up and made direct eye contact with Carly as she was told this. Instead of looking worried, she now just looked more or less offended.

"Who says I want to get married? Besides, I've been late before," upon seeing the look on Carly's face she added, "I promise to talk to him, okay? Let's go you two."

You began to help Dalton, Wade, and Blake as they began to set stuff up. Carly and Paige were talking about who knows what while sitting on a picnic blanket. Nick, however, was just sitting far away while drinking a beer and smoking. Helpful.

Once you guys had gotten all the tents set up (it was difficult), the three who had been helping set up began to play football. Typical. They were already going to see a football game and now they were here tossing one around.

Since playing wasn't really your sort of thing you went back to lying down on the grass, just enjoying the sounds.

You looked up when everything went quiet and saw that it was because the football had landed next to Nick. From where you were you could see Wade's distasteful look as he stared at his girlfriends brother. Eventually Nick tossed the ball to Dalton, hitting him square in the chest.

The two of them stood there speaking about something you couldn't hear before Carly pushed away Wade so she could talk to Nick. Though you couldn't hear them, you could tell Carly was getting pissed off as Nick just brushed her words off.

Finally she left to go sit with Paige again. You considered getting up to go see what that was all about, but decided against it as you watched the two go back to their light conversation.

You let your body fall back into the grass, almost even letting yourself fall asleep. The vague thought of bugs climbing into and onto you kept that one from happening at least.

The night was comforting, even though you did have to be near people like Nick.

It was nice to see all those stars up there in the sky.

At least until an overwhelming smell filled your nostrils as the wind shifted.

You got up and headed over to the group of them forming at the picnic blanket, you could see them all expressing there disgust.

"Dalton did you crap your pants again!?" Nick called out from the chair he hadn't moved from.

"Huh? No!" Dalton began to sniff his clothing, "I don't know. Maybe? I mean I'm wearing my work clothes so-"

Wade and Carly ventured towards the trees, Wade holding a flashlight so he could look for whatever it was that smelt.

"Something's dead out there," he called out to the rest of you.

"No, something's dead right here. We need to bring it back to life," Blake said, looking over at Nick's direction, "bless me."

Nick tossed him a beer and the mood lightened up almost instantly.

You didn't drink, but you still wandered over to the rest of your friends to hang out.

It took you a few minutes, but you soon regretted it. Soon enough everyone's breath began to reek.
And the two couples of the group started getting way more touchy with each other. Sitting all up in their laps and all of that.

Dalton managed to piss almost everyone off a bit with his filming, comments and questions. At least he was having fun. (A/N: so first semester last year my entire Spanish class was like this. The whole class they would just ask super personal questions to our teacher in an attempt to make him mad)

Despite the fact that he was annoying everyone, you were all still having a bit of fun with it. Probably because the alcohol was loosening up everybody's nerves. You may not have drank anything, but the vibes of the night still got to you.

It was fun to watch Carly attack Dalton and steal his camera, recording him with it. Paige and Carly cornered him into one of the tents, threatening to give him a makeover and make him look pretty.

Deciding you wanted to get in on that you followed the three of them into the tent.

Paige had a bag of makeup that she sat between the two of you, Carly sat behind y'all while she filmed. You either don't know anything about makeup, or you know a lot. Either way you took random fancy little things and began to apply them onto his face. Whether or not he looks pretty right now depends on how much you trust your makeup skills.

Once you guys were done Carly backed out of the tent, "you're coming out."

"No, I don't know man, I don't know." Dalton stood hesitantly in the tent, looking as if he were deciding if it was worth coming out (of the closet) or not.

"If you don't I will be so mad," she told him backing up further.

You began to nudge him out of the tent, and Paige helped you by straight shoving him.

    "Damn-"

"Look how good you look!" She called out to him.

"He looks like Elton John. But more gay." Blake said looking at the masterpiece you had created.

"Elton John is gay?" Dalton asked, genuinely confused.

"Who isn't." You said quietly while nodding.

"Isn't yellow his color guys?" Carly asked, making sure to film him from every angle.

The whole lot of you whooped and hollered at that one.

You watched as Carly went over to Wade to sit on his lap. Dalton followed them and took his camera back to he could start filming Paige and Blake who had almost immediately started making out with each other.

Next thing you knew Carly and Wade had their mouths all up on each other too.

You sat on the ground away from everyone.
Watching but not watching because that's weird. At some point Dalton started flirting with Nick, but subtly in the most unsubtle way possible. Maybe he really was some strange version of Elton John.

The exchange they were having was cut off by a truck pulling up with its brights on.

You were blinded by the light before quickly looking away from it.

"Yeah?" Wade called out, his arm around Carly's waist.

"Hey man, you need something?" Blake called out, his arms very much so around Paige's waist.

"What does he want?" Carly asked. You could tell she was growing antsy, probably not liking the fact that some guy with a truck was staring the lot of you down.

"Hey, can you turn off your lights please?!" Wade called out for the second time, the arm that wasn't around Carly being used to shield his eyes from the bright beams.

"I didn't even know a car could be that bright, god..." you muttered to no one in particular, staring down at the ground so that you didn't have to face the light being emitted from the truck.

Paige whispered something to Blake as you all watched the truck in a still silence.

"Hey, come on man. Get out of here! Nothing to see here, let's go!" Blake called out, apparently for the sake of his girlfriend.

Wade put Carly down and got up to get closer to the truck.

"Can we help you?" He asked.

"Maybe we're on his property," Carly suggested to the group.

"No, we didn't pass a gate," Wade told her, getting closer slowly.

"There could be a sign somewhere that we just didn't see," you suggested, Carly nodded in response to your comment but Wade just kept on getting closer.

Blake began to shout at the truck to turn its lights off. The truck did not turn its lights off.

Blake began to approach the truck to, but Wade stopped him from getting closer, "it's alright. It's cool man."

Out of nowhere Nick got up from his chair and threw the glass of beer he had. It made contact with one of the headlights and shattered it almost instantly.

"What the hell dude!" You cried out looking at Nick, who was now approaching the truck. Wade didn't stop him the way he had stopped Blake though.

Slowly the truck began to back up, and eventually the lights faded into the distance.

"That was great dude! My man Nick here is hardcore," Dalton shouted, hyping up his friend.

"What the hell was that about?" Carly asked, grabbing her brothers hoodie. He ignored her as he continued walking on.

"You guys do realize he could come back and just run us over while we're sleeping or something, right?" You told them sheepishly. If mr. Mercedes taught us anything, it's that it is something than can be accomplished.

"Dude," Wade muttered as he entered his tent with Carly.

You shrugged and went into your tent. Instead of sleeping, you just sat there in the dark listening to all the noises outside.

After a few hours you heard footsteps and a crashing noise. Because you aren't stupid, you didn't investigate. Somebody did however, because you could hear somebody unzip their tent and go outside.

It ended up being carly, who screamed right before she and Wade started talking in low voices. Soon enough they went back into their tents and the silence was back for a while.

You heard the footsteps again, but they were walking away from the camp, and not towards.

Now you really couldn't sleep. The fact that they walked away implied that it wasn't someone from your group. The rest of the night was spent in unease.
