"A genetic death?"

"Yes a genetic mutation, a removal of genes from a specific gene pool, but it seems this is actually hereditary in her family. If she doesn't fight for her life then she'll lose everything to her other half.", the doctor explained.

Hawks was left in a shock after the doctor's briefing of your condition, he wanted to curl up into a ball and cry at the thought of losing you. Miruko wasn't taking it all that well either, the rabbit hero practically grew up with you and knowing that you could die left her heart broken. She knew Hawks wasn't fairing so well either so she gave him some alone time to take it all in and compose his thoughts. The feathery haired hero tried his best to think positively but just the thought of your name brought happy memories to his mind that would never be replaced by new ones if you died. His tears started to drip down his cheeks making his makeup stain his face.

"I just got you back...I-I don't wanna lose you again!", he growled to himself clawing at his face in frustration.

"Umm sir, Mr. Hawks sir?"

Hawks tried to compose himself in front of the nurse and listen to her, she could now allow people in to see you and Hawks immeadiatly dove into your hospital room. Your (e/c) hues were faded and stared off at the ceiling of the hospital as if in search of something. He held you hand softly and called your name trying to get your attention, but nothing happened. No matter how much he called to his gorgeous Star, his beautiful wonderful Sky, to his World, you wouldn't respond. You were just a lifeless doll, no light in your eyes, and barely a heartbeat.

"(Y/n)....*hkkk*...(Y/n), m-my heart and soul, please...p-please don't give up.", Hawks cried his voice breaking with every word, "Please fight...fight with everything...y-you got and come back to me okay."

Hawks cried into your hand, he was so afraid, his feathers fell as his hope did. He was falling into the same endless depression he started off in when you disappeared on him the first time. His cries echoed through the hospital and nurses and patients could recognize the cries, these were the cries of a mourning lover.

Deep in your mind, your soul mind to be more precise, you struggled to hold off Zero's malicious onslaught of attacks. You didn't want to die here but what else could you do? Your brother has always been stronger then you, so why did you find the need to fight.

"Why do you continue to resist your fate? You'll die eventually little sister so why not start now!", Zero growled yanking you up by your hair to face him.

You growled at your hideous brother and spat in his face much to his annoyance. He wiped the spit away with his sleeve before chuckling as he started to knee and punch you in the stomach.

"Fucking die already so I can go back!", he hissed as he tossed you away like garbage.

You started to cough up blood not just in your mind but in the real world too, for a second as you started to give up your heart beat started to drop. While your eyes started to get heavy and close, Doctors were forcing an emotional Hawks out of the room to shock you back into life.

"Why do I fight it? If I live then my children will suffer with this curse...all of our family is dead so no one will be waiting for me back at home. So why would I go back?", you thought as a pool of your blood started forming around your body.

You could hear the faint call of your name, but the voice was so drowned out by your thoughts.

"Who'd miss me if I didn't go back?"

"My Sky!"

"Stop calling to me."

"Please (y/n), I can't lose you again!"

"Who are you?"

"(Y/n), Babe, please don't leave me I just got you back!"

"Babe? Nobody calls me babe...nobody except Hawks."

That's when the realization hit you, you had left Hawks alone as a child in the real world. You disappeared for six months and now you're gonna die? That idea alone was enough to make you stand one more time.

"Why do you stand up?! Just stay in that pool and drown!", Zero growled ripping a sword from his wrist.

He swung his sword down on your head but your arm blocked the attack. Zero gasped as his blade shattered against her now tungsten covered arm. (Y/n) grabbed him by the neck with her other arm and watched as the blood seeped from his throat. He groaned to the pain of each small blade protruding from your hand, Zero knew that he lost and it actually brought a smile to his face.

"L-looks like you finally beat me...little sister.", he wheezed before your blades erupted from his neck severing his spine in the process.

You watched your brother's head rolled off of his body and disappear on the floor into dust. (Y/n) was alone in the little room now, your arms were still grey from the tungsten but you felt at peace. Your chest started hurting and you realized it was time  to go back, you had to see Hawks again. You felt a jolt in your chest and collapsed on the ground as it happened again and again. You have to get back, it's time to get back to the present.

"She's awake!", Voices cheered as (y/n) gasped for air.

Everyone smiled in joy around me as my vitals started to stabilize, she wasn't out of the woods yet but at least she was back. Doctors kept constant watch on her for a few more hours before allowing visitors in, surprisingly Hawks was back to his normal age but boy was he still a cry baby. He pounced on me as his wings wrapped around the bed and held (y/n) tightly as he cried into her chest. He was so afraid he had lost you and of course you understood that but he's totally taking this out of proportion.

Your white haired rabbit friend so ran into the room, but at her speed she couldn't stop properly and ended up knocking Hawks and herself over the bed. (Y/n) broke into a laugh as Hawks' feathers exploded all over the room leaving him with small baby wings. Hawks quickly stood up knocking Miruko off of him and returned to his spot over your body to cry about how thankful he was that you were alright. Miruko smiled as she hugged you softly welcoming you home, with a small subtle kiss to your cheek she excused herself. Hawks got jealous of the kiss and softly caught your lips with his. You missed his sweet lips on yours, his warmth drove you crazy.

"Babe...I-I've missed you so much.", Hawks cried unaware that his makeup was staining you're hospital uniform.

You giggled sweetly and wiped his tears away with your thumbs and kissed his face as sweetly as you could. You had won you're hereditary battle and still kept Hawks as yours. That night Hawks stayed with you in the hospital, he slept peacefully next you as you stared off at the night sky. Was this really what you deserved? Did you really deserve to be happy after everything you had done?

"Go to bed budgie.", Hawks hummed.

"I will nuggets, I will just not right now.", you giggled as his arms began to wrap around your waist.

This feathery haired dork had captured your heart, he saved you from death, and the only way you could repay him is with love.

"I love you (y/n)."

"I love you more Hawks.", you purred and with what little energy you had left you kissed all your feelings into his soft lips before finally resting.

Hawks was so patient, you loved how devoted he was to you. You couldn't be happier knowing that you were his.
