Jin's POV

I watched Namjoon as he paced around the room, a far away look on his face. His features tightened with thoughtfulness and anxiety, a sharp crease between his eyebrows.

"Namjoon, what is it?" I asked, reaching a hand out for him to take, signaling for him to approach me where I sat on our mattress, in our room.

"I'm just thinking," Namjoon answered sharply, ignoring my outstretched hand and continuing his aimless pacing.

"Well, what are you thinking about?" I pressed further, not letting his tone discourage me from trying to help but letting my hand drop to my side.

"Jin," Namjoon stopped where he stood in the middle of the empty classroom, his back turned to me. His voice was exhausted and frustrated, "just don't, okay? Not now,"

I felt a small pang in my chest and let myself feel offended for a second before pushing it away. I couldn't afford to feel anything at the moment.

"I'll leave," I sighed and stood up, making my way towards Namjoon and putting a hand on his shoulder, "you know where to find me,"

"Jin..." Namjoon's voice softened suddenly as he made eye contact with me, "don't leave, I'm sorry,"

"There's nothing to feel sorry for, I know you're under a lot of pressure," I took his hands into mine and moved closer to him, "I'm only trying to help, Namjoon,"

"I know, I know," Namjoon closed his eyes and leaned his forehead against mine, "I fucked up today,"

"The mission?" I asked, I was never present for any of the missions, I just listened through the walkie-talkie, ready to run out if someone got injured.

Unlike the others, I was deadly afraid of the zombies. The others had accepted the fact that the dangerous creatures were now a part of their daily lives, and they dealt with it accordingly.

I did the opposite; the more accustomed I grew to this new world, the scarier it seemed. The more I saw of those vile things, the more they terrified me.

I'd known this mission hadn't exactly gone well but I couldn't be sure what happened since I wasn't there.

"Yes," Namjoon sighed, "Jimin almost got killed, I should have known Taehyung shouldn't be trusted with the rescue mission alone. Jungkook even tried to tell me, I just ignored him. He could have died, Jin. How can I forgive myself?"

"What made you take the rash decision?" I asked, brushing past the 'how can I forgive myself' part, knowing comfort didn't work with Namjoon, only hard fact and logic, "why force a mission with Hoseok injured? Why change the game plan?"

"Jin," he sighed once more, releasing my hands and turning to face away from me, "we're running dangerously low on supplies. We've exhausted most of this town's resources, Yoongi and I estimate that we can only stay here another month or so,"

My heart tightened for a second. We'd all grown so attached to this town in the last few months, this was the first place we'd found that actually felt like home.

The abandoned high school was a beacon of safety in this world of dangers alone, how could we leave?

"I see," I kept my voice impartial, I still couldn't afford to feel anything at the moment, it was silly to get attached to places while you're living like this, "so we move on, again,"

Jungkook's POV

"What's the issue on the table?" Hoseok questioned before Namjoon could even open his mouth to speak, "you weren't all that clear when you called the meeting,"

"Decisions must be made," Namjoon's leader voice came out and his posture shouted power, "there are two issues we're discussing today,"

The rest of us looked at each other with knowing expressions, always just as amused at Namjoon's 'leader' character that only came out during missions and meetings.

I couldn't help but linger on Jimin's face a split second longer than the others, heart flipping over, just in the slightest.

"Firstly, we have to talk about the mission today," Namjoon began, looking down at the table in stead of at the group, "I want to apologize for the bad plan. Jimin, I put you at risk and I'm so sorry,"

"It's fine, man," Jimin said, a surprised and slightly embarrased look on his face, "there's no point talking about this without Taehyung here,"

"Is there really a point talking about anything with Taehyung here?" Hoseok shot in and we all chuckled.

"Keep going, Namjoon," I say, smiling, "What's the second issue,"

"Secondly, we've almost reached the end of our stay here," Namjoon said seriously, the statement gaining everyone's attention at once.

The silance that followed was deafening, the only sound was a gasp coming from someone at the table. I couldn't be sure that it hadn't been my own gasp.

"What do you mean 'our stay here'?" Jimin shot in, a disbelieving half-smile on his face, as though Namjoon was only joking.

I couldn't believe we were even having this conversation. When we'd found this place, I had assumed this was a permanent settlement, I'd thought this place would be our hideout for the rest of our miserable lives.

"What he means is; this is a small town," Yoongi cut in, emotionless as ever, "we've been here for almost six months. We've already scavenged the little salvageable food this dump has to offer. Then if you take into account firearms, medical supplies, let alone batteries for our most important form of communication, then we've basically hit the end of the barrel,"

I saw their point and cursed myself for being so foolish and immature. Of course we couldn't stay here forever, it was a microscopic town you couldn't even find on a map. There were about two grocery stores in the entire area.

"Thank you, Yoongi," Namjoon dismissed and Yoongi fell back in his chair, seemingly satisfied with how much he'd said, "He's right, there's nothing left for us here, we'll last about two months before we'll resort to eating the zombies,"

The little joke defused the tense atmosphere slightly, but no one could bring themselves to laugh.

"When do we leave?" Hoseok questioned, looking as though he was trying his best to seem unbothered.

"Yoongi, want to take this one too?" Namjoon said, rubbing his temples in agitation.

This was all very unlike him, Namjoon usually never passed an opportunity to speak to the group, especially when it was something serious like this. We always needed his calm and certain words in order to feel confident in our plans.

Yoongi wasn't as comforting in a time like this.

"Well, we've come down to the conclusion we could, in theory, stay for another month," he paused but resumed quickly when most of the faces lit up in releif, "But, we have to take into account the weather conditions. We've had a dry spell after the snow dried out but rain season is only a moment away. The quicker we start searching for a secure place, the easier the search will be. You all remember last time,"

We all nodded in agreement, remembering the month of October and how they'd struggled for weeks to find this place through the approacing-winter conditions. None of us wanted to re-live that experience.

"So your answer is?" Hoseok pressed, allowing his face and voice to show a glimpse of his anxiety.

"Two days," Namjoon answered firmly, ignoring the gasps of indignation and protest and continuing, "we have no idea how long we'll be out there. We're taking two days to gather ourselves and then we're hitting the road,"

"That's bullshit! How long have you been planning this?" I ask, raising my voice without meaning to, "You could have told us earlier and we'd be more prepared,"

"We didn't decide anything until yesterday, Jungkook sit down," Namjoon's voice was sharp as his face stayed expressionless and calm.

I hadn't realized that I'd stood up from my seat at the table so I lowered myself slowly. I was still fuming from my frustration but I realized I was overreacting.

"Two days," Jin said, speaking for the first time since sitting down at the table. He had his eyes closed and his voice was tentative "We have two days to say goodbye to this place?"

"Yes," Namjoon and Yoongi said at the same time.

Two days

Yoongi's POV

"Did you have fun?" I spoke as soon as I heard the door open and someone walk inside the room, without turning to look who it was.

It was always Taehyung.

"I always have fun, Sugar," Taehyungs deep voice flowed effortlessly and I could hear his smirk through his tone.

I finally flipped over on my mattress to look at him. He wore fresh clothes and was drying his hair with a brown towell.

Clean.

I had expected him to be covered in blood still, from running around all day killing zombies. But he'd cleaned up before coming here.

"I don't want to have sex with you," I said dryly, putting two and two together and figuring out Taehyung's motives.

"Okay," Taehyung answered, continuing to dry is hair, "do you want to play yatsy?"

I snorted and rolled back over, facing the wall now.

"Are you mad?" Taehyung asked casually, "Remember, you have to tell me when you're mad. I can't tell,"

"I know," I said, "I'm not mad, just thinking,"

"About?" Taehyung took a seat on my matress, seeming to be in a great mood despite my obvious discontentment.

"You know the whole group thinks you're stupid?" I ask.

"I thought 'insane' was the word they were going for," Taehyung didn't seemed bothered by the news at all.

"You are insane," I rolled my eyes, "but they think you don't understand the basic concept of following orders,"

"I know," Taehyung laughed, "listen, what sounds less threatening to you; 'dumb psycho who likes to kill zombies' or 'fully functioning, violent man with sociopathic tendencies'?"

"You're saying that you're playing dumb as a defense mechanism? To seem less threatening?" I furrow my eyebrows.

"I didn't expect to be with this group for such a long time," Taehyung said, "I've had this character for too long, I can't drop it now,"

"Okay fine, I don't really care," I said, sitting up and facing him.

"I'll go then," Taehyung smiled without any emotion behind it, "see you tomorrow,"

As he began to stand up I grabbed the back of his shirt and pulled him back towards me, bringing him close enough to hear my whispered words.

"I changed my mind," I said, letting my hand rest on his chest, "stay?"

"Alright,"
