FRIEND: You must leave this house.

USHER: How can I? These walls are in my skin. This room is my heart.

Besides, I have a sister.

To feel lonely is to feel invisible. Who else can understand loneliness if not someone who sits in solitude all their own?

Nolan's life was seemingly perfect. California born. Golden boy. Popular boy. Star baseball player. College bound. He had everything until he almost had nothing. All of a sudden he starts feeling a sharp pain in his ear. He gets dizzy a lot. He feels nauseous. But he ignored it all to get through the day. He couldn't miss school. Baseball practice.

    He hit the ball.

He ran to first base. Then to second.

He began to feel dizzy again. (There was that's stupid ringing in his ear!)

     That's when the seizure happened.

Ménière's Disease. A disorder that effects the inner ear and causes episodes of vertigo. His great grandfather had it. Guess it skipped a generation and landed on me. His perfect life became not so perfect. No more baseball. He lost his scholarship. He was forced to wear hearing aids to school (He couldn't go a day without feeling like he would pass out). And he was forced to leave California with his family after his mom remarried. Suddenly, he's stuck with a step brother who's hated him since they were in tenth grade. Billy was trouble. Nolan was careful. The pair didn't mix.

At least he still had his sister.

Nolan was angry that he had to spend his senior year with people he didn't know. A new school. A new home. A completely didn't life. It wasn't fair. He didn't even have baseball to take the anger away.

What he didn't know was that Hawkins, Indiana was basically cursed. Crazy, huh? Cursed? What do you mean cursed? Besides the kids going missing, a supernatural creature from a different world, and Russian spies lurking around. How was Nolan expected to believe any of this?

That's until him and Max are thrown into the mix when they meet Lucas Sinclair and Steve Harrington. Two people who for some reason they couldn't stay away from. Love always shows up in the strangest of situations.

I wrote this after coming to the conclusion that Steve is a raging bisexual (I'm delulu) and Nolan and Steve are so close to my heart, they're one of my favorite underrated couples.
