"This is fucking bullshit and you know it!" Calvin yelled as he paced the room. O sat behind his desk and watched his son cry like he always did when he didn't get his way. It was always everyone else's fault except his own.

"I'm just as entitled to this business as you are. You've had three chances and now it's my turn, you wanna be childish then let's be childish. You act like this business is strictly O's business when it's not, my father's blood line deserves a chance too" I said calmly and Calvin glared at me before turning to face his father.

"And you really considering this shit?" Calvin questioned as he stopped pacing. O glanced down at Knox who occupied his lap licking a lollipop and my uncle got this evil smile on his face as he looked up at Calvin and I.

"Lowercase O since you're my assistant now. Who do you think I should give my business over to ? The fate of everyone is in your hands little one" O said as he tickled Knox and Calvin rolled his eyes and folded his arms.

"Momo!" Knox shouted pointing his lollipop at me and O nodded his head while Cal punched a hole in the wall and pressed his forehead against it.

"He's fucking biased! Da' don't do this, I'm better and I'm trying so hard. Q will be punished for what he did but he's my son and I can't let anyone kill him. This business gives me purpose and I can't loose it" Calvin said as he slumped down into his chair.

"I'll tell you what. You be a man about this and support your cousin. One of Jade's kids should have a chance. You still work for the business but you and Moriah will trade places and I'll buy you whatever you want" O said rolling his eyes as he sighed.

"I want a yacht or an island" Cal said simply and I shook my head growing agitated. O agreed and Calvin looked over at me before extending his hand wanting to shake with me.

"All that's cool or whatever but nobody is going to be kissing Q's ass. Either he leaves the game or gets caught up eventually. That's your son and you wanna protect him or whatever but that has nothing to do with me, when he snitched is when he proved that family meant nothing to him. So you have to make a choice" I said and Calvin clenched his jaw.

"I'll handle it" he said and I stared at O and shook my head knowing what that meant. Ohaji sighed and rubbed his forehead

"Maybe Q should leave the game and go to school or something, I care about his wellbeing too and I don't think the game is for him" O tried to explain.

"Q is a natural born leader and you know it. He should have the business if or when Mo decided to step down" Calvin said and I raised an eyebrow.

"He's no Ajani and you know that. I wouldn't let anyone harm Q that's to much drama but he'd never be able to hold his own in this drug world. I've watched you struggle since I was a little boy and it's really nothing personal but he'll get dogged out and we'll be back in this situation" I said attempting to be as nice as possible.

"Look my word is final, it's in Moriah's hands. You can continue to be bitter or you can join lowercase O and and I while we go and get massages. It's time to relax and you know this is for the greater good. You should be spending more time with Selena and O'Shea, Selena will be out of the house in a few years anyway and you'll regret not spending more time at home" O said and Calvin nodded taking in his words.

My cousin looked at me before he extended his hand again and we shook signaling there was no hard feelings and he was cool with it. There was a gentle knock on the office door and everyone calmed down.

"Come in!" O called and the door pushed open revealing my mother who was caught off guard when she saw Calvin. He stood up and walked over hugging her and kissing her cheek.

"Do you need some help Auntie? I'm in New York for a few days and I know how they are" he said nodding towards us and O scoffed.

"We help her all of the time" I mumbled and my mother laughed like what I said was hilarious. Cal draped his arm over his shoulder as he glanced over her shoulder and glared at me on the low like it was suppose to be intimidating.

"Nana! Lunch peas!" Knox yelled and my mom preceded to laugh as she asked him what he wanted to eat.

"He wants peas for lunch I think" Calvin said and I shook my head as Knox continued licking his lollipop.

"No that's just how he says please" I responded as my mother agreed to make Knox a sandwich. I stood up and followed them out into the hallway where I went a separate way and headed out the front door.

I scratched the back of my head and jogged down the steps and headed across the street to my house. I opened the door just as Nandy was about to open the door and when she saw me she extended her hand giving me my cellphone.

Looking at the caller ID I realized it was Zaire and quickly put the phone to my ear thinking something must've happened.

"You did it man, you overthrew Cal and I'm proud as hell" Zaire said as a bottle popped in the background and I smirked.

"You this happy? I thought you and Cal were still cool" I said and Zaire smacked his teeth as I walked down the hallway of my home.

"Calvin is still my brother and I love him to death but business is business. We've always had to spare his feelings and walk on eggshells when we know he's fucking up and then when he fucks up we have to coddle him instead of being real with him and you know it" Zaire said.

"Nah I keep it real all of the time which is why people don't like me very much. I don't like hypocrites and that's why when I takeover this business none of that crying shit matters, if anyone fucks up I'm holding them accountable. It's a new era" I said feeling like I'd been watching to much Game of Thrones recently.

"Hold up Jesse is calling me, let me put it on three way" Zaire said and I sighed and waited on hold for a little while before we were all connected.

"Bwoy you did it. What do you want for Christmas I'll buy you anything" Jesse said and I smacked my teeth wondering who told him.

"I didn't tell him Mo, he said Darius told him over FaceTime. I was gonna tell him though, right after I got off the phone with you" Zaire explained.

"How is everything over there anyway Jesse? Ajani said you banned her and Johan" I explained and he groaned.

"Khan is gone. It's just safer for them to stay there, now I have to come out of retirement and figure some shit out" Jesse said sounding like he was dreading it.

"You done got lazy. All that carpooling and being a stay at home dad got to you" Zaire teased and Jesse went silent for a moment.

"Alijah isn't talking to me. I lied about getting my vasectomy and I got her pregnant but she miscarried two weeks ago and she didn't even know she was pregnant. She confronted me and I told her the truth and now she won't talk to me. She acts like I wanted another baby, it was just an accident" he explained and I raised an eyebrow.

"Y'all have been having sex without condoms for a little while now and she's just now getting knocked up?" Zaire questioned.

"I don't know if y'all know this or not but Jah isn't as young as she was before. The gyal is old now" Jesse said quietly and I heard someone smack him.

"I'm not old! Keep talking shit about me Jesse" she said through gritted teeth and Jesse laughed and cleared his throat.

"Well anyway, I got the vasectomy for real this time and I feel violated but hearing you're taking over California was what I needed to feel better" He continued and I wrinkled my nose.

"That shit sounds painful. How are you holding up?" Zaire questioned him and Jesse sighed dramatically.

"I mean I guess I'm fine. I could use a slice of peach cobbler and some ice cream but you know how mean my wife is to me" He said in a sad time and I laughed.

"Get it yourself" I heard my sister respond and Jesse groaned as he got up from where he was sitting I assumed.

"See I want that shit. I beat cancer and I wanna have maybe like two more kids so I'm going through with my proposal to Melissa" Zaire said and I raised an eyebrow knowing that was the first time I heard him call her by name.

"Good luck with that. I gotta go, someone at my front door" I explained before hanging up on them. I placed my phone into my pocket and opened my door before Kaine could ring the doorbell.

We stared at each other and he waited for me to invite him inside. When he saw that I wasn't going to he pushed his way inside.

"That's not anyway to treat your guests Mo. I would never leave you out in the cold" He said eyeing me as he removed his jacket.

"Well there are two different types of people in the world. I would've left you out in the cold because you do have a house" I said simply and he smacked his teeth.

Kaine ignored me as he walked towards my kitchen and I followed him wondering why he was so comfortable all of a sudden. I'd have to nip this shit in the bud quick, or change my locks - whichever came first.

Nandy was in the kitchen getting her nails done by some woman who had her stuff set up on the counter. I pinched the bridge of my nose as Kaine greeted the woman by name.

"She comes over to do Ajani's nails all the time and I do pay her money so of course I know her name" Kaine said without turning around to see the suspicious look I was giving him.

I nodded towards the hallway and Kaine followed me out of the kitchen before leaning against the wall under a portrait of himself I'd painted a long time ago.

"Do you still want out of your contract? I'm being generous today but I won't be so generous in a week" I said and Kaine pretended to think.

"So O handed it over to you? Calvin won't be involved anymore?" He questioned as he folded his arms and I gave a simple nod.

"He'll be around but he won't be making big decisions" I responded and Kaine nodded his head as he looked me in my eyes.

"Then I'll stay, but my word is only good until next year, I'll be leaving the game soon" he said and I raised an eyebrow not knowing he was being serious.

"Oh you were foreal about that? Well that's good, you're so close to doing the legal thing, don't die" I said and he smacked his teeth.

"I came by anyway to invite you and Nandy to this costume party we're having. Do you think you'd wanna come?" Kaine questioned me and I chuckled and looked away.

"Why? Halloween was like two months ago so why are you having a costume party now?" I questioned and Kaine shrugged.

"It's more like a bait party. We invited a bunch of drug dealers we know in hopes of Jenny sending people to shoot it up so we can get Intel. Everyone already knows what might go down but we're trying to bring the bitch out of hiding" Kaine explained.

"She didn't go to her grandmothers funeral?" I questioned and he shook his head no. I sighed before agreeing and I could heard Nandy cheering from the kitchen.

"Cool. Is Knox over here? I went next door to Jade and Ivory and they said he'd probably be over here" Kaine said and I laughed.

"He's next door at Ohaji's place. Calvin's over there and he's in his feelings like he always is so be careful" I warn and Kaine smacked his teeth.

"Calvin and I are cool we just don't acknowledge each other and I'm okay with that. See you tonight" Kaine said as he walked back towards the front. I heard the door open and shut close and I peeked into the kitchen at Nandy.

"We're going to a costume party tonight" I tell her and she continued to smile all goofy and shit as she looked at the woman painting her nails.

"I have to call Ajani and ask her what she's wearing. I need ideas" she said and I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Since when are you and my niece friends? This is weird as hell" I state and she looked up at me and frowned when she saw my face.

"Am I not allowed to be friends with her? We have a lot in common" Nandy tried to explained and I laughed out loud.

"No you don't. Name three things you have in common?" I questioned and she didn't say anything as she thought long and hard.

"She's beautiful and I'm beautiful, she's into fashion and I'm into fashion and she has kids and I like kids" Nandy said and I smirked.

"Yeah whatever" I responded walking away allowing her to win the argument. I imagined her smiling excitedly from behind me and didn't have to turn around to confirm it because I eventually heard her giggle like a child.

I buttoned my shirt as Nandy walked into the room wearing a catsuit. She wore the ear headband and was adding jewelry to her wrists. When Nandy caught on to me watching her she did a turn and smiled.

"Moriah, Zip me up please" she said excitedly and I casually walked over and got her zipper for her. She looked me over in the mirror before folding her arms as I went back to fixing the dress shirt I wore.

"Is that really what you're wearing?" She questioned and I nodded my head unaware of what she was trying to say. "Moriah it's a costume party, why aren't you in costume?" She questioned.

"I am in costume, can't you tell?" I questioned smartly and she turned and walked to her vanity mirror. Her hair was bone straight and hung to the center of her back and swished as she walked.

"You aren't any fun. I bet Kaine is going to dress up, you could at least act like you wanna have fun" she said and I looked her over before tucking my gun on me.

"I'm really in costume" I responded frowning and she looked me over as if she was trying to guess who I was. I pulled on the white suit jacket and Nandy tried to guess who I was and I shook my head.

"James Bond" I replied bluntly and she gasped as it clicked. My eyes went to the heels she was struggling to walk in and I shook my head feeling like she'd fall.

"Why do you wear shoes you can walk in? Why not just wear shoes you know you won't embarrass yourself in?" I questioned as she checked her makeup.

"Beauty hurts" she said attempting to walk away only to fall on the carpet. I hid my laugh as I grabbed her arm and helped her up.

"You do that in public and I'm walking away from your ass" I said and she pushed me as she struggled to walk over to the bed.

"You wouldn't walk away, you'd help me up because that's what husbands do"  she said and I laughed watching her take the heels off. She put on sandals and then carried the shoes in her hands as she walked out of the room.

I followed behind her knowing by the time the night was over I'd be carrying her out of the club and she'd be complaining and asking me why I let her wear the shoes in the first place.

"Tonight is about business, stay close to me and don't go wandering off. Be serious" I explained as I locked the house up and enabled the home alarm.

"Yes daddy" she mocked and I cringed as I walked over and pulled the door open for her. She handed me her phone wanting me to take a picture as she sat in the car.

"Okay take a picture of me, this is my good angle" Nandy said turning her head some and I snapped a single picture before tossing her phone back.

I got into the car and she was complaining about the picture and how I didn't even try. I zoned out her complaining like I normally did and pulled out of the driveway.

"Just remember what I said, who give a fuck about a picture" I said and she grew silent and folded her arms like a child. Nandy cut on the radio and looked out the window as I rolled my eyes and focused on the road.

By the time we got to the club where the party was being held she was trying to talk to me again and had changed back into those tall ass heels.

I found a parking space close to the doors so she wouldn't have to walk that long. I got out of the car and helped Nandy out as she clasped onto my shoulder for dear life and we headed inside.

One of the guys working the door was apart of Ajani's cartel and he let us in before turning his attention back to the long line of people trying to get inside.

"You look like you don't get out much and socialize with other people" I mumbled noticing Nandy's mouth was hanging open. She laughed like what I said was funny as her eyes scanned around the huge club.

"Wow..everyone is so...young" She said and I nodded my head not really knowing what she was expecting.

"They're in their early to mid twenties so I'd assume their friends were as well" I explained as I bumped into my nephew.

Johan wore baggy black overalls and a baseball cap turned to the back of his head. I raised an eyebrow as he folded his arms in front of him.

"Who are you suppose to be? One of the members of Jodeci?" I questioned and he smirked and nodded his head.

"Yeah it was either this or Michael Myers but if I couldn't have a real weapon then I wasn't coming as a serial killer" He said as he looked around.

"Where's Ajani and Kaine?" I questioned and he pointed towards VIP before disappearing into the crowed. I helped Nandy up the stairs as she struggled and I continued to shake my head knowing she'd last another half an hour before she started complaining.

When we got into the VIP area Nandy quickly took a seat and I made sure she was okay as Ajani walked over to us wearing a clovers cheerleading uniform from bring it on.

"Do you both want something to drink?" She questioned and I furrowed my eyebrows as I cleared my throat.

"Where are the rest of your clothes?" I questioned and she laughed like I was going to laugh as well.

"Julez, do you mind getting my uncle and his wife Nandy a soft drink?" She questioned one of her guards and he obliged.

"Uncle Mo there's nothing wrong with my outfit, it's a costume party and everyone here is an adult" she explained as Kaine walked over and joined us resting his hand on the small of her back.

He wore a gold tooth in his mouth and a track suit with a black bucket hat placed on top of his head, it wasn't until I saw the big gold chain that I realized he was probably a member of Run DMC.

"Well everyone just went all out" Nandy smiled as I sat down next to her ignoring the look she was giving me.

Julez eventually returned with our drinks and I held both glasses out to Nandy allowing her to pick one and she thought long and hard about it before settling for the ginger ale and I was left with the cranberry juice.

"Awe you let me choose" she smiled and I forced a smile and gave a simple nod as Angelo walked over with a woman wearing the same outfit as Ajani.

"What's up Mo? This is my girlfriend Goddess" Angelo cheesed letting me know that this was the woman he'd been obsessing over for months.

I gave her a simple nod as she extended her hand for Nandy to shake. Goddess excused herself and went over to Ajani hugging her and they both laughed as Nandy frowned.

"Do you think Ajani considers me a friend?" Nandy questioned folding one of her legs over the other and I thought about it before shrugging.

"Why don't you go mingle with them if you want" I said and she slowly stood up nearly falling into Angelo but I caught her hand and watched as she walked over to my niece and Angelo's girlfriend.

"So you took over California? I guess you and I will be partners soon?" He questioned and I gave a simple nod not liking small talk very much.

"Guess so. Just because we know each other doesn't mean I'll go easy on you, you know that right? This is business and not personal" I said and Angelo looked at his jewelry before nodding his head.

"You don't gotta worry about that.
