I watched Nandy carry Kieran around and hug and kiss on him. He looked like he'd just woken up being only in a white onesie with sleep in his eyes. Everyone had gone to sleep the night before without hearing back from O, Silas or Kaine and since I didn't know where they'd gone I had no idea where to find them.

"Knowing Ohaji he probably got Kaine to think about what he was about to do. They're probably in some motel or something thinking over a plan. He's alright, he's in good hands" my father commented as he scrolled through his MacBook to read the news while wearing glasses.

"What's Kieran and Knox's middle name? I'm still deciding on if I'll give our possible son a middle name" Nandy said and I raised an eyebrow.

"Our possible son is having a middle name. Our daughter doesn't have to have one though, if she gets married her last name can become her middle name" I stated and Nandy looked over at me.

"What if she doesn't want to get married? Then she'll have no middle name and her brother might have a middle name" Nandy commented and I coughed wondering what she was talking about.

"Brother? I thought it was either a boy or a girl and then it'd be it. No more children" I said and Nandy shrugged her shoulders.

"I'd like to adopt in a few years, if that's okay with you. I just can't imagine having one single child. Now what's his middle name?" Nandy questioned again.

"Kieran's middle name is Dru and Knox's middle name is Bodhi" I responded dryly and Nandy made a face at me as if she could sense my annoyance. She kissed Kieran's cheek again and he preceded to cry as if he was telling her that's enough.

I got up and took him from her arms and gently bounced him which seized his crying. Nandy folded her arms and looked at me as I placed my hand on the back of his head and he rested into my chest.

"Well aren't you the baby whisperer" She responded as Knox came walking into the living room in his pajamas signaling he'd just woken up. Nandy squatted down wanting to hug him and he seemed suspicious of her.

"No kisses" Knox pouted as he walked over to her slowly and placed his hand over her mouth allowing her to hug and squeeze him. When she let go Knox looked at his hand before he wiped if on her shirt and my father and I busted out laughing.

"He has never reminded me as much of Kaine until that moment. I swear that is something his daddy would do" Nandy said laughing it off. She was right, Knox was much nicer than his father but every now and then some of the Kaine in him would slip out.

"I'll bet Kieran would let me give him kisses" Nandy pointed out and Kieran side eyed her as he sucked on his pacifier. Knox covered his brothers face and squinted his eyes at Nandy.

"No" he said sternly as Ajani came into the living room. She looked at what was going on before growing a look of confusion.

"Your son is being mean to me. He's usually the nice one" Nandy pointed out as Ajani sat down and pulled Knox onto his lap.

"He's in a bad mood because Kaine didn't come home last night and wasn't here this morning. He sent me a text stating that he was alive but didn't say anything else" Ajani pointed out.

"Let me see your phone?" I questioned and she pulled it out and unlocked it before handing it over. I looked at the time of the message from Kaine seeing that it came nearly thirty minutes ago so it was fairly recent.

"I'm a go and try and find them. I feel like they got into some shit" I said standing up just as the doorbell rung. My father moved his computer to the side before he grabbed the remote on the coffee table and changed the channel showing a police officer at the door.

"Ajani go upstairs into my office. Take Kieran and Knox with you" my father ordered and Ajani stood up and picked up Kieran doing as told taking a hold of Knox's hand. My father then sighed and stood up walking to the front while Nandy looked at me.

"I wonder what this is about? You think this is about Ajani?" Nandy questioned and I silenced her moving towards the foyer. I could hear my father speaking with the police at the door and he seemed calm.

I couldn't exactly make out what they were saying and of course Nandy was breathing down my neck like usual. I slowly turned and looked at my wife who slowly backed away when she saw how seriously my gaze was.

"I wanna know what's going on too" she complained as she walked away. I peeked around the corner as my father finished up the conversation and closed the door back.

"They're looking for Kaine" he said when he noticed I was watching him. I nodded my head figuring they had something on him or caught wind he was looking for Harlem and they were trying to protect their witness.

I reached to get my jacket off the rack and my father stopped me and ushered me away from the front door.

"If you're going to leave you have to wait. They're going to be watching this house and wherever you go they'll follow you and you'll take them right to where Kaine is. We need to warn them first" He scolded causing me to lower my head and nod.

Usually I was able to think rationally but right now I just couldn't. The stakes were to high for me to be bugging out right now. I ran a hand down my face before walking away from my father and heading towards the staircase.

I jogged up the staircase and walked towards my father's office to let Ajani know the coast was clear. I paused when I went passed the guest bedroom growing caught off guard as Aaron sat on the bed with a female friend of his who massaged his shoulders.

I went to question it before shaking my head and ignoring the scene. I opened the door to my father's office and Ajani was walking back and forth as if she was in deep thought. She looked up at me expectedly and I shut the door behind me.

"They aren't here for you, they're looking for Kaine" I explained going over to the window. I looked out noticing two police cars out in the front.

I looked at Ajani when I realized she was staring at me and I figured I'd must of worried her. I looked from her to Knox who was playing with a truck completely unaware of what was going on.

"Don't stress about it. We've been through worse, this is nothing and knowing Kaine he'll flee before anything happens. He's not dumb" I state and Ajani nodded.

"I'm gonna call his lawyer and have him on standby just incase it gets to that point" Ajani explained and I nodded my head.

"I'm gonna sneak out of here in a little while. Would you do me a favor and look after Nandy?" I questioned catching her off guard.

"Why do you want me to look after your wife uncle Mo?" She asked as I scratched the back of my head trying to avoid answering.

"You know Nandy, she's a bit delayed" I mumbled and Ajani started to laugh before she seemed to come to a realization.

"Wait my parents are visiting Johan at the hospital. Maybe my fadda can go and find Kaine and everyone, it's going to be hard for you to sneak past these cops" Ajani pointed out as she gestured to the window.

"Call Jesse" I said and she agreed pulling out her phone leaving out of the office with Kieran. I lifted Knox up carrying him out of the office as well knowing his sneaky ass was going to get into shit.

I went to walk passed Aaron's room again when I noticed he was now getting a back massage from a guy. He looked up at me and we stared at each other for awhile like he was waiting for me to say something.

"What are you doing? Wasn't there just a girl in here?" I questioned and he nudged the guy making him stop massaging his back.

"Yeah that was Erin she left because she had dance rehearsal. This is my friend Ashton" he introduced and I nodded.

"Wellget dressed incase Ajani has to leave. He should probably go too, there's a lot of police around and he doesn't need to be mixed up in this shit" I explained watching Ashton stand up and gather his stuff.

"He's right, I have drugs in my car. See you later Ron" he said walking passed me. Aaron stood up and pulled a shirt on before retaking his seat on the bed. The bandage on his neck had been changed and he just seemed weirder than usual.

Feeling something wet on my hand I looked down at Knox who was sticking his tough out and licking my hand. I frowned and lowered him to the ground wiping my hand off on his shirt while he smiled evilly.

"Watch him, don't let him wander" I said pushing Knox into the guest bedroom. Aaron remained silent and nodded as I walked away not having time to ask him about his weird behavior.

As I was going downstairs I noticed my father was discreetly glancing out of the window and my mother stood next to him.

"Something doesn't feel right. They came to the door looking for Kaine and I said he wasn't here, yet police cars keep pulling up. There's like six outside right now" my father said to my mother.

"Do you think they're going to kick the door in?" She questioned and he nodded. I walked away before they noticed I was there and joined Ajani who was in the living room with a phone pressed to her ear and staring at the TV screen in shock.

I did a double take and raised my eyebrow seeing a familiar white man being put in handcuffs. He wore glasses and looked like he was crying as the police made him lower his head and get into the backseat of their police car.

"Oh my god that's Clintus! He's Kaine's assistant!" Ajani pointed out showing a level of concern and I realized why the man looked so familiar.

"Yeah they're about to kick the door in. Who knows what he told them to save his ass, I don't blame him but Kaine is in some deep shit" I said rubbing my chin.

Ajani was silent for a moment before she grabbed the remote and turned the volume down some. She took a seat on the couch and looked like she was going into deep thought before she glanced at me.

"If they kick the door in what are you going to do? You have to have a plan uncle Mo, you always have a plan. Don't tell me nows the time where you don't know what to do" She said and I shrugged.

"Usually things just come to me. I mean technically I could go onto the roof and by us some time but-" I began until I realized my mother was standing in the opening.

"You aren't going to do that. They can kick the door in all they want but there's no drugs or weapons in this house. We are a normal family as far as they're concerned" she said and I smiled.

"I know you don't believe that. Dad may be done with the game but come on ma, you really think he has no protection?" I questioned and she folded her arms.

"So? Doesn't mean they'll find it. I need to know who's all here, Knox and Kieran are both here and Aaron's upstairs. What about Ainsley and Seven?" She questioned.

"Ainsley is in the kitchen with Seven. Nandy is around here somewhere and Nate is across the street at my place" I explained just as Kieran started to cry from his bouncer.

Ajani quickly picked him up and gently bounced him to sooth his cries as she waited for instructions but everyone seemed stumped.

"Well the police are after Kaine and not Ajani or anyone else and Kaine is with Ohaji and Silas which means that as long as he stays away from here he's good. What I think is going to happen is since you're his wife they'll probably take you in and question you but it's nothing to be concerned about" my mother attempted to explain.

Ajani opened her mouth to speak when there was a loud crashing noise that sounded like glass breaking. Ainsley stumbled into the living room holding Seven's hand and coughing as smoke followed them.

"What the fuck was that?" I questioned not smelling any normal smoke. Ainsley coughed again as my mother grabbed their arm.

"Somethin' came through the window" he struggled out just as another crash came from upstairs and I jogged into the hallway where Aaron was coming downstairs with Knox.

"I can't wait to go to college. I don't see how you people do this shit" he mumbled adjusting Knox on his hip as he shielded his eyes and Nandy eventually came down after him.

"You'd think they'd just kick the door in but no they gotta break my fucking windows" my father responded seeming like he didn't care. He opened the front door and motioned for Aaron and Nandy to go out with Knox, Ainsley and Seven.

My mother appeared eventually holding Kieran who's head was covered with his blanket as she went passed. They made it to the lawn and a few police officers rushed over and checked them for anything.

I glanced over my shoulder expecting Ajani to be there but she wasn't. The house was covered in smoke and my father started to go and get her but I stopped him.

"I got it just don't get shot when you go outside" I warn and he smiled and turned going out the door as if to say he wasn't making any promises. I went toward the back where Ajani was on her phone doing something.

She looked up at me and squinted through all the smoke not being able to see me well. After awhile she preceded to type until she finished what she was doing.

"They're about to come and here and arrest you. Go outside and make it easier" I said nodding towards the front door.

"Too late" she responded and I could hear voices from the hallway along with the loud noise of boots running down the hallway.

"Freeze! Hands where I can see them" the first cop yelled and Ajani dropped her phone onto the floor and raised her hands seeming unbothered.

I sighed and copied her seeing the police come into the room. I tilted my head some and watched as they asked Ajani her name and she told them without hesitating.

They handcuffed her and read her right before leading her out of the house while I was patted down.

Through the smoke I could see Ajani turn her head and look at me before she turned straight ahead and continued walking. I knew she was only being brought in for questioning but I hoped she was smart about this and didn't need help that I couldn't give her right away.

Kaine just needed to hurry up and do what he was supposed to do. I couldn't run to his aid either so if he fucked up he might really get himself killed, there was no do overs.

"Pacing back and forth isn't going to get them to return our phone calls" Nandy pointed out. I glanced at her and she gave a sheepish smile before looking down like she was expecting me to verbally assault her or something.

"It won't but it'll calm my nerves" I responded and she nodded her head and sighed. The white walls of the hospital made me want to break something, it became a setting I really despised. If my kid ended up breaking a bone or something playing a sport I'm a just snap it back and place and give them ice to hold while walking it off.

"He's awake. You can come back and see him for a little bit" Jesse said snapping me out of my thoughts. I looked up at my brother in law nervous to see Johan wondering if everything was all good with him.

Nandy remained sitting not wanting to go back and see him and so I walked ahead. The door to the room was open and when I walked in Johan was sitting up and his doctor was flashing a flashlight in both of his eyes.

He turned his head slowly and looked at me before glancing back at his doctor as Jesse appeared behind me looking like a weight was off his shoulders.

"Everything is looking good so far, he's a bit disoriented and it took him a little while to tell his left from his right but that's not out of the ordinary. I'll be back in a little while" the doctor said and Jesse nodded and watched him leave.

"Angelo?" Johan questioned and I looked at Jesse who seemed like he was trying to think of the right words to say.

"He's not dead, he's healing from surgery and that's all I really know. It's under the table so I don't know how good the surgery was" I explained.

"Where is everyone else. Mama? Ajani? Even Kaine?" Johan questioned again as I took a seat in a chair furthest away from his bed.

"Ajani is being questioned by the police, they're looking for Kaine. She's with her lawyer and your mother, nobody knows where Kaine is though" Jesse responded. Johan moved his hand to his head and shut his eyes.

I watched him lay back in bed slowly, there was no telling how bad the headache he had was. Jesse adjusted his pillows for him as my phone rung from within my pocket, I pulled it out and they both looked up at me expectantly.

"Hello?" I questioned placing the phone to my ear. The line was silent except for the sound of traffic in the background.

"I haven't been able to call anybody from my phone, I had to get rid of it. What's going on?" Kaine questioned.

"Check the news. The police are looking for you, they took Ajani in for questioning" I explained only to hear him smack his teeth.

"As long as everyone is safe and alive I'm good" Kaine said as Jesse reached for my phone. I sighed and handed it over as he grabbed it from my hand.

"Bwoy what's going on? Where are you at? Put Ohaji or Silas on the phone" Jesse demanded. Johan opened his eyes again as he listened in on the conversation.

"Because you're stupid, that's why" Jesse said and I could picture Kaine smacking his teeth and getting an attitude like usual.

"You hang up this phone if you want to you short fuck and see what happens!" Jesse snapped into the phone.

"Jess give me the phone back. He's going to hang up and then we won't know what the fuck they're up to" I said and my brother in law eyed me briefly before giving the phone back to me.

"Put Silas on the phone. Now isn't the time for you to be annoying" I said listening to Kaine sigh before yelling for Silas to come to the phone.

"He's not going to tell you anything either. We can't say anything, it's complicated" Kaine explained and I smacked my teeth and listened to the phone exchange.

"Mo relax everything is under control. You and Jesse just look after everyone else, we won't let anything happen to your son" Silas said.

"I don't have a son, yet. He's just some annoying kid I kidnapped and he ended up staying around" I mumbled.

"Then stop worrying and let us handle this, alright?" He questioned and I remained silent taking in his words.

"Just let me know if you need anything and I'll help. Take care of him, he has a family" I responded before hanging up the phone. When I looked up at Jesse he was watching me intently and so was Johan.

"Stop denying Kaine, the bwoy is nice, he's weird but nice nonetheless" Johan said with a groan which caught me off guard.

"I thought you couldn't stand Kaine? You nearly die and now you wanna be nice?" I questioned watching my nephew shut his eyes.

"You love him just like my fadda loves me" Johan said simply as Jesse smiled and touched his sons chest causing Johan to open his eyes.

"Daddy am I your favorite child now? Since I almost died?" Johan questioned causing me to shake my head and hide my laughter.

"No. I don't have a favorite child, I love you all equally" Jesse said causing me to stop laughing and stare at him.

"Didn't you say Ajani would always be your favorite because she was born first?" I questioned and he smacked his teeth.

"She was an only child then. It's easy to say stuff like that, it's not like I just flat out told her she was my favorite now. I really don't have a favorite they all annoy the shit out of me but I don't regret any of my kids" Jesse said defensively.
