Third POV

Y/N taps the tip of his pen on his paper as he waits for lunchtime to approach, Ozpin sent him a message that since he was transferred later than expected he has to take his own initiation unlike the other students who got put into teams for their initiation. "Time is slower when you're looking at the clock." A voice tells him as he looks over to the redhead girl Jaune was speaking to, he smiles at her statement and nods. "Apparently so, but I have something important to do, much more uh, fun than school work." He admits to her as she giggles and nods, she glances over at Nora poking a focusing Ren. "You're the new transfer student, right? I'm Pyrrha Nikos." She lends her hand out as he takes it and shakes in return. "I heard of you, names Y/N Direson." Her eyes widen in surprise before she smiles softly. "And I heard of you as well, or your name to be specific, but I'm sure you're a good person Y/N." This makes him grow warm inside as he hasn't heard much from Ruby for three days, maybe she doesn't want to hang out with him anymore or she's just busy. "I appreciate that, it is hard sometimes to go around with this name I was given." He admits to his new friend as she grabs a hold of his hand, providing him needed support. "I'm here if you need to talk, always up to help my classmates."

Once the bell rings he makes his way towards his room to change into his regular outfit for the initiation, sighing as he looks at himself in the mirror before he heads out towards Beacon Cliff.

In the cafeteria team RWBY take their seats with team NPR who greet them, except Nora who's gobbling down some pancakes Ren made for her earlier. "Mr. Port is having us clean up his study room after Ruby let out a Boarbatusk during lecture." Weiss sighs as Ruby tries to explain to her friends that she was trying to the exact opposite, since their teacher didn't lock the cage fully. "So Ruby I heard you have some history with Direson." Pyrrha says as the young girl turns to her with her eyes widened. "Oh yeah! We met as kids and our parents just let us hang out on Patch." She says as Jaune runs up to the group, catching their attention as he struggles to catch his breath. "Have you guys heard!? Y/N is being sent into Emerald Forest alone for his own initiation, everyone is gathering to see what he can do!" He spits out as Ruby and Yang both get up, running towards Beacon Cliff as JNPR follows after them with Weiss and Blake tagging along last. "I guess if everyone else is going." She says as she brings along an apple to snack on, while Blake steals some cooked fish from Ren's tray.

"Woah, more people here than I expected sir." Y/N admits as Ozpin chuckles as Glynda grows impatient with the crowd that has formed on what was supposed to be a private initiation. "Please make this fast Mr. Direson." The wolf boy nods as he looks out into the crowd one more time, spotting Ruby with her friends who pushed their way to the front, pulling down his goggles as he gives her a confident smile. "We'll be watching closely Y/N, good luck son." Ozpin launches him into Emerald Forest as the wolf boy pulls up his headphones, playing his song as he shoots through the air.

"Time to give them a show." He mutters as once he's close to some trees he reaches out his hand and grabs ahold of a branch, shifting his body upwards as he makes a hard landing with a loud thunderous crack. The ground around him smouldering as he turns towards the direction he's supposed to retrieve a relic at, he stretches before activating his semblance Lightning Step. In a blink of an eye he's gone as he zooms past trees with a streak of blue lightning following behind him, suddenly he comes face to face with an Ursa which he immediately elbows in the chin, sending a strong lightning bolt right through its head. Its body dissolving once it hits the ground, however the loud sound attracts more Grimm towards his location as he sighs. "Guess I could've handled that more quietly, but this is more fun." He says as he rushes a Beowolf, lightning trailing up the arm of the beast and right past its back, a strong kick sending its armored head through a tree, Direson jumps to knee another Beowolf under its jaw, sending it backwards as he backflips onto his feet. He rolls out of the way of an Ursa's giant paw as he kicks a lightning bolt at, cleanly severing the other arm as he closes in and slashes through its muscled torso with his claws that are enhanced by the electricity he's generating, cutting it into two.

"That's enough, let's grab the relic." He says as he rushes up the cliff, avoiding any sudden drops with quick reflexes until he comes to the top. Admiring the ruins as he moves to the center of what was a meeting room, grabbing the relic as he smiles, putting it in his pocket as he turns and looks towards Beacon Cliff, holding up three fingers as he prepares for his mad dash back home. "If I get there earlier I earned myself a drink." He charges his body until his H/C hair is standing high as his eyes glow brightly before he takes off with a loud boom that sends a pillar from the ruins tumbling down, a bright streak of blue zooms past the Grimm attracted by the deafening noise. The smaller ones have many of their limbs cut off in an instant as they were merely in the way of the lightning wolf, some unluckier ones got severed through the middle. "101." He mutters to himself as he picks up the pace as his hair turns slightly to a bright white.

Beacon Cliff

"167." Jaune reads the timer he put on when Y/N showed them how long he was predicting he'll be back, Pyrrha watches knowing the wolf boy would make it. "Oh god-!" With another loud boom and a cloud of dust Direson stops himself in front of Ozpin who smiles at the show is confidence, holding his hand out for the relic. "Not bad sir." The student replies as he tosses it to the headmaster as he pulls his headphones down, lifting up his goggles as his hair changes back to its normal color. "Your semblance is much more devastating than I thought." Glynda says as he looks over at her and smiles. "Yeah, took me a while to learn to use my aura correctly against g-forces, but well worth it." Suddenly a flash of red slams into his chest as he smiles, looking down at Ruby hugging him tightly. "You were so cool out there! Like when you took out that Ursa's arm just by kicking to when you wrecked those ruins even more." She starts mimicking the fighting sounds as he laughs at her cute personality, just like when they were kids. "I appreciate that Red, anyways I'm starving and really need to fill up, my aura isn't the only thing that went empty after that show." He says as Jaune joins the two's side as they head towards the cafeteria, the blonde showing him the footage captured by some drones, some of it only catching his trail of lightning.
