It was the dawn of a new day in the Clover kingdom. Most citizens were already up and about their day while the magic knights equally prepared to leave their bases and carry out their daily tasks. In the Golden Dawn headquarters, most members were already wide awake with some of them already going out to do their assignments for the day while others relaxed for a bit in the dining hall or outside in the courtyard. However, inside one of the many rooms in the upper halls, (Y/N) could still be seen comfortably sleeping in his bed, although that wouldn't last long as the sun's rays began to filter through the small gaps in the window's curtains, one of them already hitting him in the face and forcing him to open his eyes.

(Y/N): (Ugh, are we really going to do this today, sun?) I thought as I rubbed my right eye.

Getting out of my drowsiness and groggily opening both of my eyes, I let out a deep sigh and briefly stared at the ceiling of my room before eventually deciding to get up and start my day. However, as I tried to sit up, I felt a sudden weight on top of me pinning me down on the bed and preventing me from moving at all. Looking down and lifting the covers, I noticed Mimosa peacefully snuggling right next to me with her head resting on my chest and a happy expression on her face; Memories of the night before began to flood my head as I realized that we were both naked as well. I faintly smiled and rested my head back on the pillow; I still couldn't believe we actually ended up doing it, it seemed so surreal since it was also the first time I'd ever done something like that.

Feeling a bit of movement, my eyes then shifted downwards again and noticed that Mimosa was also starting to wake up. She soon lifted her head and began rubbing one of her eyes as an adorable yawn escaped her lips before finally opening both eyes. Now mostly awake, she then proceeded to scan her surroundings until her gaze finally settled on me, a smile immediately appearing on her face after noticing that I was also awake.

Mimosa: *yawn* "Good morning (Y/N)." She smiled.

(Y/N): "Good morning you, slept well I take it?" I asked as I smiled back at her.

Mimosa: "Mhm~! What about you?"

(Y/N): "Yeah, me too. Well.... from what little sleep we had, that is." I remarked with a playful smirk.

Mimosa: *blush* "Eh.... y-yeah, I guess that's true." She responded as she averted her eyes with an embarrassed smile.

slightly laughing at her reaction, I cupped her cheek with my hand, prompting her to lean in closer and lock her lips with mine. After a few minutes of sharing a passionate morning kiss, we separated to catch our breath while also gazing into each other's eyes. Later, I began to gently caress her hair, something which she thoroughly enjoyed, and she simply rested her head back on my chest as I did so. Shortly thereafter Mimosa then let out another small yawn as she sat up on the bed and began to stretch, giving me a great view of her...."assets"....in all their glory which I couldn't help but to stare at mesmerized.

Mimosa: "Hmm? Something wrong?" She tilted her head after noticing that I was staring at her.

(Y/N): "Ah......it's nothing, just enjoying the view."

Mimosa looked down as she followed my eyes, her face then flushed after she realized what I was talking about. She simply averted her gaze in embarrassment, and yet despite this she made no attempt to cover herself up.

Mimosa: "D-Don't stare for too long (Y/N), it's embarrassing." She said in a shy tone.

(Y/N): "I just can't help it, you look so amazing...." I admitted, making her expression change to one of delight.

Mimosa: "R-Really...?!.. Umm, well, as long as we're alone I guess-"

*KNOCK* *KNOCK*

Mimosa: "Eep!"

Grabbing the blanket and covering herself, Mimosa looked over to me in a panic not knowing what to do while I simply just chuckled and told her to hide beneath it while I spoke to whoever was at the door.

(Y/N): "Give me a moment!"

After getting out of bed and putting on some shorts, I walked over to the door while rubbing the back of my head, wondering who the hell could be looking for me this early in the morning. When I opened the door, I was greeted by David, who immediately smiled upon seeing me.

David: "Hey! Good morning (Y/N), did you have a good night's sleep?"

(Y/N): "Morning David, and yeah, I feel way better now." I smiled back.

David: "I'm glad to hear that. Anyway, I won't be taking too much of your time, I just came here to tell you that the captain was looking for you."

(Y/N): "Looking for me? What for?" I questioned with a curious tone.

David: "No clue, didn't ask. He just said to tell you to visit his office around noon today."

(Y/N): "Huh.... I see. Well, I guess I'll pay him a visit once I'm done with today's assignments then."

David: "Oh! Right, about that, apparently all of those who participated in the royal knight's exam will have the next few days off until they announce the results. You lucky bastard." He said with a laugh as he gave me a slight punch on the shoulder.

(Y/N): "Heh, well I guess it's only fair after what we went through." I replied with a laugh.

David: "Hah! You make it sound like it was some sort of life-or-death situation."

(Y/N): (Well....it kinda was at some point....) I thought as I recalled the incident that involved the vice-captain and his brother Finral.

David: "Well anyway, unlike you, I do have lots of assignments to do today, so I'll be on my way." He waved as he turned to walk away.

(Y/N): "Sure thing. See you around David, take care."

David: "Likewise." He smiled as he headed downstairs and out of view.

I stood outside for a few more seconds before turning around and stepping back into my room, closing the door behind me in the process. Having overheard the conversation, Mimosa jumped out of her hiding spot with an expression of pure joy on her face.

Mimosa: "Yay~! I can't believe we have these next few days off!" She exclaimed excited.

(Y/N): *chuckle* "Yeah, so what do you plan on doing?" I asked as I sat back on the edge of the bed. 

Mimosa: "Umm, I don't know. Maybe I'll go visit the Vermillion residence, I'd like to check on how Fuegoleon is doing."

(Y/N): *sigh* "I see, I'd really like to go with you too but it seems I already have my hands full today." 

Mimosa: "Oh, that's right. I'm curious about what the captain wants to talk to you about; it seems important if he was specifically looking for you." She remarked with slight concern on her tone.

(Y/N): "I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, but I guess that's what I'm about to find out later today."

Mimosa: *blush* "Um...you.....you don't have to go anywhere else right now, right?"

(Y/N): "Uh.... why do you ask?" I asked while turning to look at her with a raised eyebrow.

Mimosa: ".... Um...I-I was hoping that we could stay here a little bit longer, you know......just you and me." She stated as she looked at me with hopeful eyes.

(Y/N): *yawn* "Well the captain said to visit him around noon, and I'd be lying if I said I still didn't feel a little tired after last night.... I guess it won't hurt to sleep for a few more hours." I shrugged.

Giggling at my response, Mimosa wrapped her arms around my waist from behind me before pushing me back down onto the bed and happily curling up next to me, making me shake my head in amusement as a smile appear on my face. I then wrapped my arm around her and hugged her tightly while closing my eyes, eventually dozing off back to sleep in her embrace.

TIMESKIP

When we finally awoke around noon, we took a quick shower and grabbed our discarded clothes from the floor before heading out. After ensuring that the coast was clear, we both stepped outside and said our goodbyes before parting ways. Mimosa decided to go to the royal capital to see her family, while I went to the captain's office to see what he wanted to discuss with me.

However, on the way there, now that my mind was clearer, I kept recalling the spontaneous event that occurred with us last night. Of course, I won't deny that the sensation was nothing but divine, but I still couldn't help but wonder how it would affect us in the future, and I even began to debate whether this had been a mistake or not. Was it just something that happened in the heat of the moment, or was there more to it? Right now, I couldn't know for sure, I am still rather new to all this stuff about love anyway. However I couldn't deny that when I was with her, I honestly felt......relieved, as if all my worries had been washed away, perhaps she felt the same way? I suppose we'll have to figure this out together later, so in the meantime... I must concentrate on the present moment and the task at hand.

Reaching the door to the captain's office, I knocked on the door a few times before hearing the captain's voice on the other side granting me permission to enter. When I opened the door and stepped inside, I saw the captain sitting at his desk, doing some paperwork before his attention was drawn to me.

William: *smile* "Good afternoon, (Y/N)."

(Y/N): "Good afternoon, Lord Vangeance." I greeted with a smile.

William: "Seeing that you're here, I'm guessing you got my message from David."

(Y/N): "Yes, I did, and based on how he phrased it, it almost sounded quite urgent." I said jokingly, making the captain chuckle.

William: "Well, I guess it is somewhat urgent depending on how you see it." He said motioning for me to sit down.

(Y/N): "Oh?"

William: "Lord Julius has requested for your presence in the capital. He said that he needed to talk to you about something important."

(Y/N): "The wizard king?! That's.... unusual...."

William: "I'm sure he has a very good reason. Perhaps he has decided to teach you more about your time magic?" He suggested in an amused tone.

(Y/N): "....... Why do I have a feeling you already know what it's already about.... captain?" I said giving him a quizzical look.

William: *chuckle* "I'm just pointing one of various possibilities. Nevertheless, the only way to know for sure is to visit him as soon as you can."

(Y/N): "Yeah. I'll do that right away, so much for having the day off." I said jokingly, in all reality I was really excited to learn more from the wizard king about either of my attributes.

William: "Of course, good luck (Y/N). On another note, I heard your team ended up coming out on top in the royal knight's tournament. Congratulations on your victory."

(Y/N): "Thank you captain. It was actually a close call between Yuno's team and mine." I said, remembering the intense battle that transpired between our two teams.

William: "So I've heard, I can imagine you two were exhausted beyond belief after fighting your way through to the finals."

(Y/N): "Heh, you can say that. Although, the same could be said for the others too, to some extent."

William: *smile* "Agreed. I'm truly proud of every single one of you for giving it you're all during the exam, that's mainly why I also decided to give you the next few days off as a reward for your hard work."

(Y/N): "I appreciate it Lord Vangeance, I'm sure the others are grateful to you as well."

William: "It's no problem. Anyway, I feel like I've taken enough of your time, you are free to visit the capital. I'll let Lord Julius know you are on your way."

(Y/N): "Thanks, I'll do that right away."

As I rose from my seat, I said my final goodbyes to the captain before leaving his office and heading for the main hall. On the way there, I kept wondering about what the wizard king might want to discuss with me. Is it possible that it has something to do with my time attribute? My plasma attribute? Or perhaps both. In any case, I was already overjoyed at the possibility of learning more about either of my attributes and their capabilities; Julius, after all, had been the one besides Jeo who had assisted me in learning more about them in the past.

Leaving the base in a hurry, I made haste to the royal capital and towards the magic knight's main headquarters where the wizard king resided. After a few minutes of flying in my broom, I eventually reached the city and immediately walked over to the headquarters on the far end of the district. Stepping inside and arriving at the wizard king's office, I was met with a very unexpected sight. Mereoleona had just left Julius' office with a rather amused expression on her face, and I noticed that she was also deep in thought about something......that is, until her gaze landed on me and a terrifying smirk appeared on her face, making me sweatdrop.

Mereoleona: "Oho, I wasn't expecting to see you here (Y/N)." She stated as she approached me.

(Y/N): "Same thing could be said to you 'captain', I thought you hated being in the capital." I said raising an eyebrow.

Mereoleona: "Well you're not wrong, however, that boy Julius insisted that I had to come here since it was important."

(Y/N): "Oh really? And what could that important thing be?" I asked curiously.

Mereoleona: *chuckle* "Wouldn't you like to know? Unfortunately for you you'll have to wait for the results of the royal knight's exam to find out."

(Y/N): "Huh? The royal knights? What could possibly-"

Mereoleona: "You shouldn't dwell on it too much, given how well your team did in the tournament I wouldn't be surprised if you are one of the first ones to be chosen as a royal knight."

(Y/N): "You really think so?"

Mereoleona: "Of course I do, and besides......I've heard that you used a new type of power while fighting the captain of the Aqua Deer, is this true?" She asked as a grin began to slowly form on her face.

(Y/N): "Ah.... y-yeah, that's right. Actually, remember that strange power I was barely able to contain back at the Volcano? I may.... have figured out how to properly use it." I said as I looked away, already knowing what Mereoleona's next word's would be.

Mereoleona: "Hmmm, I see......well, what do you say you show me what that power of yours can do?" She said excited as she cracked her knuckles.

(Y/N): "Heh, you know, I don't think you could actually handle me in that form." I responded with a smirk.

Mereoleona: "I like that spirit! Then let's not waste any more time and get started!" She spoke with a wider grin as her fiery mana began to elevate.

(Y/N)": Haha, I'd love to, buuuut......I'm afraid I have some business with the wizard king, and I unfortunately cannot afford getting sidetracked."

I let out a small laugh after saying this, but I would soon find out that it wasn't the smartest choice as I suddenly felt a heavy pressure be placed on top of my head, making me fall silent as I nervously looked up to Mereoleona, who was staring down at me with a murderous glare as she grabbed my head with her flame paw.

Mereoleona: "(Y/N), are you by any chance......mocking me?" She asked in a unamused tone.

(Y/N): "Eh......no ma'am, I would never dare to do such a thing!"

Mereoleona: "Are you sure? Because right now, I wouldn't mind teaching you a lesson in respect."

(Y/N): "Uh, there will be no need for that! I promise to give you that fight you want later." I said with a small nervous laugh.

Mereoleona: "Hmm......is that right? Because as I recall, this is the second time you promise to make it up to me." She remarked with a devilish smirk.

(Y/N): "What? When did I-......Oh." 

Mereoleona: "Yeah, I hope you're ready by then, because I won't be holding back." She informed as she placed me back on the ground.

(Y/N): "Heh, I'm confident I have grown stronger since last time, you don't need to worry about me."

Mereoleona: "I'll be the judge of that, see you around.... plasma user." She winked as she walked away.

(Y/N): "Yeah, see you around.... captain." I responded before heading back to the wizard king's office.

I took a deep breath and knocked on the office door before entering and spotting the wizard king looking out the window with his arms behind his back and a determined expression on his face. When he heard the door open, he turned around and smiled as soon as his gaze fell on me, most likely pleased that I had made it.

Julius: "Hello (Y/N), I've been expecting you."

(Y/N): "Came here as soon as I could, sorry if I made you wait Lord Julius." I said as I closed the door and walked closer to his desk.

Julius: *laugh* "There is no need for worry, I myself had been busy for most of the morning with paperwork anyway."

(Y/N): "Uh....so what would have happened if I turned out to appear at morning while you were busy?"

Julius: "Hmmm......I probably would have skipped the work." He shrugged.

(Y/N): *deadpan* "I.... see......anyway, back to topic, captain Vangeance said you needed to talk to me about something important?"

Julius: "Indeed. I wanted to talk about that about that cool transformation you displayed back in the tournament!" He said trying to contain his excitement.

(Y/N): "Oh, you mean my Astral projection?"

Julius: "Right, but more specifically, I wanted to focus more on the involvement of your time magic."

(Y/N): "......Heh, can't say I'm surprised that didn't pass your notice."

Julius: *chuckle* "Even though it was faint, I could still feel its mana all around you, and seeing how all of your injuries healed immediately after activation, it wasn't difficult to conclude that your time attribute had something to do with it."

(Y/N): "Well, I guess you have a point."

Julius: "Yeah, but with that being said......do you mind if you can show it to me for a little bit?!" He asked excited as he leaned forward with starry eyes.

(Y/N): "Eh?!...right here?!"

Julius: "Oh! Hehehe, sorry. We can use one of the training arenas if you'd like?" He suggested as he sat back on his chair.

(Y/N): "Yeah! that sounds good."

Julius: "Perfect! Then let's head over there immediately."

The two-time magic users then exited the office and made their way to the magic knight's headquarters' training area. Those passing by would do a quick salute to the wizard king while curiously glancing at (Y/N) before eventually resuming their duties as the two walked through the large halls. Having arrived at the training room, (Y/N) was quickly taken aback by the sheer amount of equipment in a single arena. There were training dummies as well as numerous small targets at various distances all over the place. I could also see how the arena was divided into several sections, each of which was customized to allow for practice in various types of combat.

(Y/N): "Wow......this is so COOL!"

Julius: "I know right?! I come here from time to time to observe the magic knights hone their skills in the various combat drills." He too said excited.

(Y/N): "This really seems like a good place to train your magic; I wonder why my squad's headquarters don't have something like this?"

Julius: *small laugh* "This training facility is typically used by those who are tasked with staying in and defending the royal capital at all times, this is to compensate for their lack of experience in the field. The training they receive here is similar to what you face on a daily basis during your squad assignments."

(Y/N): "Oh, that's smart, I guess. I still think we should be allowed to use this place for when we too
