"Robin?"

Robin glances up from his current activity—video games, which is just about the only thing he'd be doing on a Saturday afternoon, considering Jude is at the gym. He takes his headset off when he spots his sister peeking her head in his room.

"Yeah?" He asks the thirteen year old girl. She has dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes, which she gets from their father. She's wearing a t-shirt and leggings, as well as some flip flops. She also appears a bit nervous.

Katherine Rose starts picking at her hangnails. "Can you take me to the store?"

Wow, Robin hasn't driven his truck in a minute. Usually Jude drives them places, or he walks just to get some fresh air. Half the time he forgets he even has a car at all, to be honest.

Robin nods. "Yeah, just let me finish my game."

After he finishes said game, which he ends up losing anyway, Robin loads Kat up in his black truck. It was given to him by his dad, and the truck really doesn't suit him at all. He thinks it was one of his father's last attempts at making him more manly—even though Robin really isn't all that feminine. He paints his nails black when he's bored and is an omega, but that's about it.

The ride to the store is somewhat silent, Robin listening to his music while Kat fidgets. The way she's sitting looks a bit uncomfortable, but Robin ignores it. Once they arrive, Robin's curiosity gets the best of him.

"So what are we getting?" He asks as the girl unbuckles her seatbelt. She glances over at him, and he notices that she very obviously does not want to tell him. Uh, okay.

"Just, uh. Necessities." Kat responds.

Robin raises an eyebrow, but doesn't push the subject. He respects the girl's privacy and lets her lead the way inside. Once they are in, Robin makes a pit stop to grab some energy drinks and chips. This is because he plans on playing video games all day, and he needs fuel.

Once they reach the feminine products aisle, Robin starts to get a... suspicion.

No, that's dumb. If she were here to get pads or something then she definitely would have asked Mom to take her. Robin, chill out.

Robin tries not to make the girl feel uncomfortable and avoids looking at whatever she ends up picking out, but after the cashier checks them out and hands Robin the bag, he can't help but look.

He almost drops the bag when he lays eyes on exactly what he was hoping wouldn't be there.

He was right.

Once they're back in his truck, Robin starts it to get the air conditioning going. However, he doesn't go anywhere.

"Kat." How should he approach this? Ignoring it isn't an option, because this is a big deal.

"I don't want to talk about it."

It's starting to add up. The way she was sitting on the way here—her leg under her, presumably so she can avoid staining the car seat. How nervous she'd been. There's no way their parents know, and Robin has so many questions.

Hitting puberty is nothing to take lightly, which is exactly what Kat getting her period means. She has hit puberty, and that means she will present soon. This is a really big deal.

"Kat, you need to at least tell Mom." Robin says, turning to face the girl. She won't look at him. She seems very deep in thought, and she's shaking a bit. This is concerning.

"No. I don't... I can't deal with that right now."

"What do you mean?" Robin asks. He knows their parents aren't really... the best, but this is a lot. For as long as Robin can remember, Charlie Rose has been pretty distant. Especially since Robin presented, the man has wanted almost nothing to do with the eldest child. Mary Rose is by far the most involved, but that isn't really saying much. Robin can't remember the last time either of them smiled at him.

He always thought Katherine had a somewhat decent relationship with them, though.

"When you presented, there was so much drama. I just want to avoid that as long as I can."

So, there are only three people aside from Robin who know his secondary gender. His mom, his dad, and now Miles. Well, unless you include his doctors.

That's it. They never told Kat, at the request of Robin—despite her curiosity. He didn't trust her to keep a secret at the time. Don't get him wrong, Robin doesn't want her to be stressed, especially because the only reason there was so much outrage was because of what Robin's presentation actually was. Still, the less people that know, the better.

"Whatever you present as, nobody will care. Promise."

"But they cared with you," Kat replies. She's frowning, and staring at the dashboard. Robin sighs.

"Trust me. They won't be upset."

Robin starts to pull out of the parking lot. After a few minutes, Kat speaks again. "But... I don't know, it's scary."

"Don't be scared." Robin says. "You need to tell them, don't worry about what happened with me."

Kat's concerns are warranted, as much as Robin hates to admit. When he presented, he was an absolute mess. He drowned his feelings in video games and altering his appearance, and he wasted no time in covering it up. His parents were disappointed, despite it not being his choice. His father was way more upset than his mom, though, but there was quite a bit of fighting for several months. Eventually, they all began to avoid each other.

Robin can understand Kat wanting to put that off, but here's the thing—it won't be that way with her. There is no female presentation that results in the outrage and disgust equivalent of being a male omega. Kat has nothing to worry about. She thinks their parents will freak out no matter what, because she was never told why it was such a problem.

Robin really hopes she won't keep it to herself.

The rest of the car ride is spent in silence, and once they arrive back at the house, Robin goes back to his video games. Kat parts off, presumably to fix her situation. The rest of the weekend goes by pretty uneventfully, but Robin is seriously dreading school. This keeps him from ever fully relaxing, unfortunately.

God, he really does not want to see Miles again. What if the guy changes his mind? What if he decides to just tell Jude anyway? Their little agreement benefits Robin way more than it does Miles, so what's stopping him from breaking it?

Monday comes way too fast, and before he knows it, Robin is sitting passenger in Jude's mustang as they drive to school.

He seriously needs to avoid Miles. If he does so, then there is no chance of conflict. This keeps Robin from getting injured, which is the prime cause of Jude going off. Robin isn't sure how to avoid Miles, though, since he has no idea where the guy will be at any given time.

"Why are you nervous?"

Robin glances over at Jude's voice. The guy is focused on the road, but he does meet Robin's eyes after a moment.

"I'm not nervous." Robin denies, cursing how well this guy can read him. How well this guy has always been able to read him. It's not fair.

"Then why do you look nervous?"

"I don't," Robin insists. "Why do you look like a rat? Oh never mind, that's typical."

Robin can see the amusement on Jude's face. "Ouch."

Robin rolls his eyes, though he's smiling. He stares out the window and listens to the music, and he's surprised that Jude dropped it so easily.

Robin spends the whole time trying to figure out how to avoid Miles, before something occurs to him. If he doesn't want to deal with Miles, then—well, what's a natural Miles repellent?

Okay. So Robin is just going to stick with Jude all day. It may seem a bit suspicious since Robin's always been sort of independent, but they're best friends. So whatever. Their first periods are right next to each other, so it's easy to just stay with Jude the whole way there. The real challenge is going to be before lunch—their classes are nowhere near each other and they usually just meet in the cafeteria. Before lunch and after school are the times where Robin needs to be the most careful, partially because Miles is actually in his final class.

Robin sticks close to Jude the entire day, and even asks the guy to wait for him at his locker before lunch so he doesn't have to risk that either. Robin does see Miles in passing a couple times, but the guy doesn't even look at him, which eases his conscience.

Jude gives Robin more than a few questioning looks, but oh well. He hasn't said anything, so he clearly doesn't mind it that much.

After school Robin asks Jude to wait on him at his car, so he can take him to work. Apparently he should have requested a closer place, because once school lets out, Robin's arm is grabbed roughly before he can speed walk to Jude.

It's by Miles, unfortunately. Robin immediately begins trying to break his arm free of the alpha's grasp. He struggles quite a bit, to nobody's surprise.

"You've been avoiding me."

"I'm always avoiding you," Robin snaps, voice frustrated as Miles begins leading them a random direction. Robin does not stop trying to pull out of his grasp the entire way there.

They eventually arrive outside the arts building, which is somewhat close to the parking lot though it's still pretty far away from anybody. Robin turns to face Miles, feeling irritated. He usually has more patience than this, but being around someone that knows he's an omega—without his permission—has him wanting this conversation to end as soon as possible.

"I need to know something," Miles says, and this new development where Miles isn't constantly talking to Robin like he's the scum of the earth is going to take some getting used to.

"What?" Robin asks.

Miles leans against the brick wall, while Robin just stands there with a raised eyebrow. He has his bag clutched to his chest, because he didn't get a chance to put it on before Miles kidnapped him. It also serves as a shield.

"How long have you been an omega?"

Robin's eyes widen, because Miles did not say that quiet enough for his liking. "Keep your voice down!" He whisper-yells.

Miles glares at him, his previously neutral expression morphing into anger. Oh yeah, this guy doesn't like being told what to do. Especially by Robin.

Miles begins repeating, only about ten octaves higher, "HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN–"

Robin doesn't even care. It's crazy what this stupid fucking secret will push him to do. He jumps forward, slamming his hand over Miles' mouth in panic.

"Three years!" He hisses. Thankfully nobody is really around them, so they haven't been heard. Still, Robin's paranoid.

Miles starts contemplating this, surprisingly not doing anything about Robin's hand over his mouth. Robin pulls away after a few seconds, shocked that he hasn't been injured yet.

"Why can't you tell Jude? I thought he was your best friend. That's a long time to keep a secret like this." Miles asks after a moment. Robin is starting to feel uncomfortable. He doesn't like talking about this.

"Yeah. That's why I can't tell him. I can't risk losing our friendship."

"So you're basically just trying to erase your entire secondary gender? Isn't that unhealthy?"

"Yeah." Robin replies, not elaborating.

Miles just stares at Robin. His dark brown hair goes just past his ears, green eyes studying the omega. Robin starts to feel intimidated, so he stares down at the sidewalk.

"Well just keep him on a leash and your secret's safe with me, I guess. Bonus points if you can find a way to get his grades to drop." Wow this guy is desperate to beat Jude in something. What does he even mean by bonus points?

"Uh, okay," Robin says, with no intention to do that. Get Jude's grades to drop? How would he even go about that? This is such a weird situation. Miles' demands for keeping Robin's secret are just so obscure. They don't have anything to do with Robin at all, in fact.

So this guy is really just that obsessed with Jude, huh?

Whatever. At least he hasn't told anybody.

"Can I go now?" Robin asks after a few seconds of silence. Like, dead silence. Miles just stares at him the whole time. This is getting weird.

Miles seems to snap out of it at the question. A scowl takes over his face.

"Yeah, whatever. Don't fuck up." Then he walks away, leaving Robin feeling slightly confused but mostly relieved to be free of that conversation.

Robin throws his bag over his shoulder and makes his way out to the parking lot, finding Jude still standing outside the car, leaned against it with his arms crossed. Jude's attention is caught once he and Robin make eye contact.

"What were you doing?" Jude asks once Robin is a few feet away. He takes note that Jude is leaning against the passenger side door, which inhibits Robin from getting in.

"I had to use the bathroom." Robin replies, and he can tell that Jude doesn't believe him. He doesn't have an actual reason to be suspicious of Robin, though. So, he just stares at the omega inquisitively. Robin begins to feel uncomfortable, though he's doing a pretty good job at maintaining eye contact right now.

"You could have told me you'd be late." Jude says, and it bothers Robin that the guy is acting like Robin kept him waiting a long time. He's like, five minutes late at most.

"Sorry, didn't realize that the five minute difference would be such a big deal." Robin says, raising an eyebrow and feeling annoyed.

Robin knows why Jude is acting more suspicious of him than usual. It's because the guy has made it pretty obvious he's aware of Robin's secret. He knows Robin is keeping something from him, which—according to Jude logic—means everything the omega does will be put under a microscope. This is annoying for a multitude of reasons;

1. Robin will have to keep better track of his lies, and also make them more credible.

2. Robin will have to be much more careful about anything omega related, including most likely hiding his medicine.

Finally, 3. He is going to have to deal with so much questioning.

"You and Miles both came from the same direction."

"So? Maybe he was also in the bathroom." It's starting to make sense. Jude thinks he got into a run in with Miles. Okay, so he did, but he isn't injured so it doesn't matter.

Jude just continues staring at Robin like he's the most suspicious person on earth. Also, he's still blocking the passenger side. "Am I driving or something? Why are you standing there?"

Robin does not like driving Jude's mustang. Due to it being a muscle car, it goes way too fast. Robin will just be driving, glance at the speedometer, and suddenly he's going 20 over the speed limit. It's stressful, and very different from his truck.

Jude just rolls his eyes, pushing off the car and walking to the drivers side. Robin scrunches his face up in dissatisfaction at the rudeness.

He slides into the car, and Jude drives him to work. They listen to music most of the time, until they arrive and Jude tells him bye.

Robin feels tense the rest of the day.
