"So let me get this straight. You are in an arranged marriage with Tobias Landon who has a girlfriend?" Kelsey questioned.

"Yes. Lauren James."

She reminded me of my mother. Her tall beautiful, stature, and dark melanated skin. I understood why Tobias was in love with her.

We went to the same private school. We were close along with Kelsey. Our families hosted dinner at each other house every Sunday night. But then there was bad blood and we split. Kelsey stayed with me and Lauren made a new group of friends.

That didn't stop her from liking shady tweets about me on Twitter or throwing direct shots.

The door opened and Kelsey quickly exited from her page. Tobias stood with his briefcase and a steel cup.

"Hi, I'm Kelsey." She quickly stood and stuck out her hand.

Tobias motioned towards the items in his hand. He gave her a quick smile before disappearing off into his office.

"You're right, he does remind me of your father." Kelsey shuttered. "But tonight, we'll get our minds off that asshole. We need to get hot as fuck and go party. Like the old times."

"Hell yeah!" I stood up while dancing around. "Can we please get drunk! And high too."

"Hell yeah. What's an Athena and Kelsey outing without one of those?"

The best friends did what they planned. Kelsey sported a short, silk black dress with diamond stilettos. Her blonde hair cascaded around her face in wand curls.

Athena wore a rhinestone dress. She had her curly hair up in a bun with Chablé earrings dangling from her ears.

The girls were on their second shot.

"You have to stop me if try to dance with anyone," Athena yelled over the music while showing Kelsey the ring. "Can't get caught lacking."

"Of course. Stick with me throughout the night."

"You got the lime?" Athena questioned while holding the shot glass in her hand. Kelsey nodded. "Alright, one, two, three."

The girls tapped the glass on the table before quickly drinking the Tequila. Kelsey rushed the lime in her mouth and shook her head.

"Woo!" Athena yelled. "I don't know about you, but the dance floor is yelling for me to come."

Kelsey dragged Athena to the dance floor and smiled.

"Show me what you got!" Kelsey yelled. "But don't twerk on me, they're gonna think we're gay again."

"Oh my God. Kelsey, you won't believe who's here." Athena pulled her best friend close. She turned to Kelsey facing her direction.

"No way. We were just talking about her."

"Lauren doesn't party. She must've known I was here."

Athena wasn't big on confrontation. Things like that made her extremely anxious and nervous. She panicked before hurrying towards the bar.

"Four shots of tequila, please!" Athena yelled to the bartender.

He nodded while laying out four shot glasses and filling them to the brim. Kelsey stood next to her and nodded.

"Oh, so we're getting fucked up, fucked up?" Kelsey grabbed the glass. "No lime, let's take it like a champ."

Athena nodded. They took the shots back to back before screaming.

"I feel it! Please let's go up to the VIP section." Kelsey grabbed Athena's hand and took the two up.

They danced along to the music.

"Fergalicious, definition make them boys go loco.

They want my treasure, so they get their pleasures from my photo" Athena yelled while swirling her hips.

"You could see me, you can't squeeze me. I ain't easy, I ain't sleazy. I got reasons why I tease 'em. Boys just come and go like seasons." Kelsey song along.

"Fergalicious!" They yelled in unison.

"Excuse me, Mrs. Solana. The club has provided you a bottle, on the house." The bartender smiled while holding the champagne bottle.

"I'm gonna chug this shit." Athena slurred while grabbing the bottle.

"Wait! Let me get my timer." Kelsey scrambled in her purse.

The bottle service walked away leaving the two best friends excited to drink the wine. Athena popped it open and the VIP section cheered.

"Alright, three, two one!" Kelsey started, soon the whole VIP sections joined.

Athena raised the bottle and began chugging the wine. When she was done, she wiped her mouth and held it up.

"Twenty seconds! A new record!" Kelsey yelled while jumping around. She hugged her best friend before dancing to the music.

Athena bowed before placing the bottle on a random table. She felt the room begin to spin before grabbing Kelsey's arm.

"You're so pretty!" Athena yelled.

"Oh no, don't you start. You always say this when you can't handle the liquor." Kelsey huffed.

"I'm fine! I promise!" Athena giggled.

She walked closer towards the balcony and gazed out amongst the people.

"No fucking way! Kels, it's Asher Jean!" Athena yelled while pointing down at the famous singer.

"Thena, don't point at people." Kelsey shook her head.

"Why not- oh my god!" Athena yelled as she tripped almost falling over the balcony causing the entire club to gasp. Kelsey quickly grabbed her and pulled her back.

"Athena! You're gonna get us kicked out!" Kelsey yelled. "Do I need to get you water?"

"I'm gonna go say hey." Athena smiled while running down the steps. Kelsey rolled her eyes before chasing after her.

"Athena!"

"I'm sorry Ms. Solana, but you've been asked to leave." The tall man dressed in all-black said.

"I'm not going anywhere, I have to go see Asher Jean! It's important." Athena huffed while trying to get around. He stuck his arm out. "Don't touch me."

"Athena, let's just go. You're gonna see yourself in the tabloids by the morning."

"No! I want to see Asher Jean and you can't stop me. My dad will buy this club and then fire you!" Athena said while trying to push past him.

"I need you to make arrangements for you guys to travel home. I can't give any of you your keys." He said towards Kelsey.

Kelsey nodded before grabbing Athena's hand and dragging them out of the club. Athena shook her head while wiping away her tears. She plopped down on the floor.

"That's so unfair. We were having a good time and boom, we get kicked out." Athena pouted. "Who are you calling?"

"Someone to get us."

"No. I want to go back in!" Athena huffed while running towards the door.

The security guards grabbed her and held her tight.

"Let go of me!"

Within ten minutes, the small grey car appeared. Tobias stepped out with an annoyed look on his face while walking towards the girls.

"Boo!" Athena yelled. "Why'd you call him. Tobias, tell these losers to let me go."

"It's two in the morning," Tobias said.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know who else to call. Athena's dad would be pissed. I know you guys aren't like real fiancé and fiancé, but I had to act quickly before she gets arrested for public intoxication."

Tobias nodded. "Let's go, Athena."

"Make me." Athena quickly stood up attempting to run back into the club.

Tobias sighed before picking up the smaller girl and tossing her over his shoulders. He sat her down in the car and strapped her up.

"Are you coming?" Tobias questioned.

"I have to pay our tab but I'll call the hotel and tell them to send me a driver."

Tobias nodded before getting in the car.

"Tobias. You won't believe who I saw." Athena mumbled while closing her eyes.

Tobias remained quiet while pulling off from the club.

Athena sighed before opening her eyes to look out the window. "You remind me of my father. An asshole who doesn't show that they are a human."

"Who did you see Athena?"

"I saw Asher Jean." She giggled. "And someone else but that's a secret."

Athena groaned before sitting up.

"Tobias?" She questioned softly.

"Yes?"

"Don't hold this against me, okay?" She sighed.

He didn't respond.

"Thank you for getting me." Athena yawned before falling asleep.

Tobias peaked over at her and cracked a small smile. She looks adorable, he thought. Her curly hair was in shambles and her lipstick was slightly smudged. Her mouth was slightly agape as her chest heaved up and down.

She looked innocent and sweet. The pair arrived home. Tobias carefully picked her up and hauled her into the penthouse. He went up the stairs and up into her room before slightly laying her down.

"No, don't go." She grumbled while reaching out her hand.

"I have to go to bed, Athena."

"I know." She whined. "But don't go."

Tobias nodded before sitting at the edge of the bed. He kind of felt bad for the way he had been acting to Athena. She wasn't the stuck-up girl that he had envisioned. She was just a lonely kid. He knew that feeling.

Fuck. My brain was pounding out of my head. I woke up to the sun shining directly on my face. I looked over on the counter to see a glass of water and two pills sitting.

Perfect. Did Kelsey leave these for me?

I grabbed the water and quickly took the pills before standing up out of bed. I followed the smell of bacon to the kitchen.

Tobias stood over the stove in grey sleep pants and a tight white t-shirt. He looked hot.

"Oh shit." I sighed as last night's events started pouring in my head. "Tobias I am so sorry. I really-"

"It's okay." He interrupted. "But your dad called and I don't think he's too happy."

"Great."

"I'm making breakfast. The bacon is almost ready." He motioned towards the incomplete plates.

I poured myself a cup of coffee before sitting down at the end of the table. The eggs looked weirdly beautiful. They were fluffy and had cheese melted on top accompanied with parsley. The grits looked buttery and the toast was...perfectly toasted.

What was his angle and why was Tobias being nice by cooking me breakfast? He came over with the pan in his hand before using the tongs to place bacon on our plates.

"I left you pills and water. Did you take them?" Tobias asked while placing the pan down.

So it was him who got those for me.

"I did. Thank you."

He sat down at the end of the table.

"So about this arrangement." Tobias started.

"No, I get it. We're nothing to each other so it probably wasn't a good idea for Kelsey to call you at two in the morning. I'm sorry."

"I wasn't going to say that. You're right about this being miserable. I'm sorry for the way I was previously acting."

Did he apologize?

I remained quiet while searching for something to say.

"We can be friends." He said before starting on his food.
