"I feel good." Anteros smiled. "Stop worrying about me losers, a man needs his space."

"You loser. Why did you freak us out like that."
Oliver rolled his eyes.

"I totally chose to get shot." Anteros playfully said.

"Where's my bestie?" Valeria asked me while sitting down.

"Athena is with Bia grabbing some things from my apartment, I told them to get food too," Anteros said. I nodded along. "He's been sad without wifey."

"Whatever." I stood up. The small box fell out of my pocket.

"What's this." Valeria picked it up. She slowly opened it. "Wow, this is a huge ring."

"Val." I rolled my eyes.

"A ring?" Oliver questioned. "For who?"

"You dummies. He's planning to propose to her. Duh." Eros shook his head.

"But you guys are already engaged." Jacob furrowed his eyebrows.

"He never proposed though. She's been wearing a ring from Beverly. I think this is so sweet." Valeria smiled while looking at the ring. "So how are we gonna do this?"

"We?" I questioned.

She nodded. "I have to make sure it's magical."

"I was going to do it at Bia's birthday party."

"Thank God. That would've been so tacky." Valeria shook her head.

"Which is why I was going to fly her to Paris and propose. Right before the lights turned come on, on the tower. But then I realized that she had a lot of trauma from there and I didn't want her to be on edge."

"True." Anteros nodded.

"So I've been stumped. The wedding is two weeks away and I wanna propose before then."

"Well duh," Oliver said.

"This is beautiful." Valeria inspected it.

"Yeah? Her favorite color is emerald and I was nervous to do that because most girls want the traditional way, but Athena isn't traditional. So I did the big emerald right there." I rambled. "And this top row, right here. It's kinda shaped like a crown with the tiny pearls in between. And then the bottom, a row of diamonds."

"Oh wow."

"Yeah. When we watched the princess and the frog, she gawked over that pearl ring and I wanted to add that in."

"Bro. You are so in love." Oliver smiled. "I love it."

"She's going to love this Tobi. You put in so many intricate details." Valeria smiled. "And I have an idea of what you can do."

"Oh, I know!" Anteros said.

"Go Ant."

"Okay, there's a song in the princess and the frog-"

"You watch princess movies?" Jacob questioned.

"I just watched that one. She was the first black princess. Anyways! It's called Evangeline. Well, there's a lantern fest tonight and when the lanterns are released they play that song. You can rent a boat out onto the river and when you release the lights, pop the question. She'll love it."

"Good idea." I nodded. Valeria handed me the ring back and I placed it in my pocket.

"I got food!" Athena walked in carrying two trays of drinks. Bia came in afterward with a bag. "I got us food from the diner by our penthouse."

Our penthouse. She said ours. I smiled.

"I love that diner." I wiggled in my seat.

"Pulled pork on Texas toast." Bia handed me the sandwich.

"Did you get me something?" Anteros questioned.

"A salad." Bia handed him the box.

"I got shot! I can still eat burgers."

We all laughed.

"I've never been on a small boat like this." She nervously looked around. "I'm afraid if I move, it'll flip."

I began wiggling a bit causing the boat to jerk. She gasped before holding tight onto the side.

"Tobi!"

"I can swim, I'll save you."

"I don't want to get my hair wet. I straightened it and it took so much time." She shook her head. "Ugh. It's so humid I'm surprised my hair hasn't shrunk. Did it shrink?"

"No." I shook my head.

"Okay perfect."

"Are you ready?"

"For?" She questioned.

"Getting married. Starting our lives." I questioned.

"More than ready. You?"

"Eh."

"I hate you." She chuckled. "Seriously."

"Of course. More than ready."

She smiled.

"I've been thinking a lot." She fumbled with the lantern. "How grateful I am to be with you. I know our future was pre-determined and we didn't have a choice, but I'm glad it was."

She grabbed my hand.

"I feel like I spill to you my emotions every day but words can't fill the love in my heart for you." Athena looked at me with those beautiful brown eyes.

Those eyes always made me melt. When we first met my knees went weak when she looked at me.

"Cheesy."

"Cheesier than nacho cheese."

"I was thinking, maybe we should move out of the penthouse. We could start building our home." I questioned.

"Ah! Okay, I was thinking that too and I have so many ideas."

"Tell me."

"I want." She thought to herself. "Big spacious windows so when it rains, I can stare out into it. Or I can paint while listening to the rain. And I want a surround system where when music plays, it feels like I have headphones on."

"What else?"

"My closet. I want it to have an upstairs and downstairs so that it feels like a mall."

"Got it."

"And lastly..."

"Lastly?"

"I want a huge kitchen where I can make my horrible desserts and force you to eat them." She giggled. I smiled. "And where you can teach me your cooking lessons."

"That sounds perfect." I smiled.

"Oh and one more thing!" She laughed.

"Yes, my love?"

"A pool!"

"Noted."

She kissed my hand.

The music began to play and the lanterns began to float all around. Athena excitedly held hers up and I did the same.

"One, two, three." I counted before we both released.

"Isn't this beautiful?" Her head was tilted up at the sky. "I love this song."

She was fixated on the lights. My heart went crazy. I pulled the ring out of my pocket before holding it tightly in my hand.

"You ever seen tangled? It feels like I'm in that scene when they went to see the lanterns." She smiled "It's beautiful."

I opened the box holding it low.

"Look how she lights up the sky." She sang along.

"Athena."

"Huh?" She said while looking around. "Do you see how beautiful this is?"

"Not as beautiful as you."

"Cheesy." She laughed while looking at me. She gasped. "Tobias?"

I smiled while trying to gather my words. I saw the tears welling in her eyes as she held her hands to her mouth.

"Athena." I started. "This is kinda late."

She laughed.

"But I've never felt so sure about someone like I, do you. I love you more than I love myself and anyone else. It's like I've met the better me in you. You inspire me in so many ways with your resilience, your strength, and your overall willingness to love. I love you, Athena Love Solana. I always will." I smiled.

I paused.

"Will you marry me?"

"Ah! Yes! Yes! Yes!" She exclaimed while taking off the old ring.

I slipped the new one on. She jumped on me before kissing me. I smiled while kissing her back. She pulled away before looking at the ring.

"This is so beautiful." She cried. "Thank you. I love you."

"I love you too."

She grabbed my hand before looking at the lights.

"This is perfect." She gasped while trying to wipe away her tears.

"I love you, Evangeline." I sang along to the final lyrics. She chuckled before looking at the ring.

"You sure are my Disney prince."

We eventually got off the boat and went home to clean ourselves up.

"Tobi?" Athena questioned.

"Yes?"

"Wanna take a shower with me?"

"Yes."
