''The day we were training her for has finally come,'' Davut Pasha said to his mother, Sadiye Hanim, as he looked at me with the corner of his eyes.

''I started loving her as my own daughter, why are you doing this to her?'' Sadiye Hanim said looking at me again. I couldn't even act like I heard them while I was cleaning and helping the maids.

''And my brave mother, you trained her well to be well-mannered and a great woman which every man will wish for,'' Davut Pasha said as he took his mother's hands into his, looking her in the eyes trying to soften her.

''Poor girl, she will pay for what you couldn't do alone,'' Sadiye said finally giving him the approval to take me into Imperial Harem, to do what he and his beloved wife Dilruba Sultan couldn't do, or they didn't dare to.

My real name is Valeria, but for last ten years I don't remember anyone calling me like that. I was captured from my birth place Venice when I was only seven years old. I was sold off on Istanbul slavery market, but luck was on my side that woman with pure heart took me with herself. Her name is Sadiye, she already had a son who was much elder than me, but she raised us as siblings. She made sure that I am well-mannered, she learnt me about lot of things and gave me the best possible education. They changed the way I dress, the way I act, they even changed my name. They named me Bezmialem, my name meant feast of the world.

I loved Sadiye Hanim as my own mother, she saved me from the slavery and gave me the best possible opportunities in my life. Her son Davut was also very good person, but everything changed the last year when he became Ottoman son-in-law. He married Sultan Ahmed's sister Dilruba Sultan and moved together with her in Palace Sultan gave to them. But immediatley after the marriage they started making plans how Dilruba's brother Mustafa should ascend the throne.

"Bezmialem, we need to talk," Davut Pasha said seriously and I bowed him as I did for the all time. I respected him a lot even though I never could guess what he would put me into.

"We will send you in Topkapi. You have very important mission to do there, I hope you won't disappoint us," Davut said as he was proud on his idea, which was actually his wife Dilruba Sultan's idea.

"I know what I have to do, you will send me to Sultan to be your spy there," I said already knowing how they wanted me to work for them here. And they knew I could say no to them because Sadiye Hanim saved my life and raised me and I owe it to her forever. I could never say no to that woman no matter what it was.

"Not that you will just spy, you will kill him," Davut said and my eyes widened. I could never imagine even hurt someone's feelings, I couldn't kill a person.

"But..." I wanted to say something but Davut already stopped me in that.

"Nothing bad will happen to you after that, we will make sure no one knows it's you. I would never let them punish or hurt my sister Bezmialem," Davut said as he took my hands into his, kinda manipulative trying to get my yes, even though I had no choice.

"You want me to kill him to put Sehzade Mustafa on the throne?" I asked him just to get the answer I already knew. That's why he married Dilruba and I knew they would forever work on that.

"Yes, but listen to me. You will go in Harem, you are well mannered and beautiful and very soon you will highlight from all the girls there. You will probably see Sultan Iskender somewhere around, but if you don't, we have a loyal kalfa Miran in Harem which will do anything to get you to him. Safiye Sultan will be problem there but you must show her your loyality," Davut started to explain.

"When you get Iskender's attention and Safiye's trust, you will kill him when they least expect it. When the time comes you will get the poison to kill him, but that needs to be when they trust you hundred percent," Davut continued.

I just sighed as I didn't want to go in Harem and fake something for Sultan and Valide Sultan everyone was afraid of. I knew Safiye wouldn't even trust me and with one wrong move she could order them to throw me at the deep end of Bosphorus because of Davut and Dilruba's plan. I knew she couldn't trust me especially when she knew Davut Pasha's mother raised me and I had no idea how they thought this would work.

I didn't want to kill Sultan no matter if I didn't know him, for me as a normal citizen it wasn't important who rules. I wasn't like Davut or other people who cared who was the Sultan, when Davut million times talked how Mustafa is in critic mood because he has been locked half of his life in Kafes.

"And only thing that is important is that there is no heirs from Iskender, not from other concubines nor from you. You will drink pills to stop you from getting pregnant because we don't want to get rid of more people," Davut said.

"Fine," I said as I couldn't even say no to a family who raised me. If I would even wish to say no, they would force me to say yes. My approval wasn't even important to them because this was plan of someone who was lot higher positioned than all of us, from Dilruba and Halime Sultan.

"Every time Sultan comes to the throne influential women and Pashas who have maids send them to Palace. My mother will also send three girls I found together with you so we won't make it that much obvious, but you can never even say there you are in good relationship with me. You will lie I don't visit you or mother after I married, there shouldn't be any connection between us," Davut said seriously.

"I understand," I said.
