Finally made it to his apartment.

The car ride there was very silent. It was just both him and me in the backseat. I wasn't aware of who the driver was, but I assumed it was someone who worked at UA as a chauffeur. Given that Aizawa was bandaged up from head to toe, I'm sure he couldn't drive or do his nightly patrols for awhile until he was fully mobile, or at least recovered enough to hold his own.

I looked at the building and then him as the car drove off behind us.

"This seems nice." I said quietly, trying to seem positive.

"Let's get inside. It's been a long day." he said, ignoring my comment, and proceeding into the building.

I quickly followed him in and walked down the hallway, meeting him to his door. As he tried to fumble for his keys in his pocket, I could tell he was struggling. With both of his arms broken, it seemed impossible for him to grab or hold anything.

Poor guy.

"Here, I can help you with that." I said as I slowly reached for his pocket.

"No thanks." he said, as he flinched away from my hand, "I don't need your help."

I scrunched my face in disapproval.

"That's not a very rational thing to say," I said with a smirk, "I'm not trying to bruise your ego. I just wanna help."

"Of all the things that are bruised, my ego is not." he argued as he fished out his keys and tried balancing them between his two, round casts on his hands into the lock, only for them to fall to the floor with a thud.

I snorted at the perfect comedic timing, and bent down to snatch the keys before he could.

"You sure about that?" I said, still smirking, "Don't worry, I won't think less of you. It'd take a lot more than this for me to look at you differently."

I put the key into the door lock and turned it, hearing it click and then turned the doorknob to let us both in.

"After you." I said, letting him lead me.

He hummed and went inside, turning the lights on as I closed the door behind us and locked it. He then took off his boots and put on slippers.

'Oh, right.' I thought, 'Japanese customs.'

I slipped off my shoes and slipped on a pair by the door.

'Did he put out an extra pair just for me? That was sweet and thoughtful.'

I looked around the place as he walked off. The place was pretty...plain. I shouldn't been surprised. Aizawa didn't strike me as the eccentric or exciting type. Everything was very minimal, and clean. Blinds shut, nothing out of place besides a few papers, and a laptop on a counter.

I felt something rub up against my leg.

"Hi!" I said happily after I gasped in surprise, seeing a grey cat purring and rubbing up against both my legs. I bent down and began to pet the cat, as it mewed for attention.

"I see you've met Cloud." said Aizawa as he leaned against the wall.

My heart tugged as I heard the name.

Cloud.

He named the cat after-

"Yes, they're very affectionate." I said, clearing my throat, trying not to think about what I just realized.

"He." he corrected, "and yes, he is." he watched as I continued to pet Cloud, "I'm surprised you didn't expect him, since you seem to know everything about our world."

I looked up at him, and smiled before standing back up.

"I figured you had a cat, but it was never really confirmed." I said, "We only got hints."

He hummed at my response, and I continued to look at him and then around the apartment. My thoughts were briefly interrupted by my growling stomach.

"Have you not eaten?" he asked.

"Technically, no." I said as I held my stomach, trying to muffle the growls, "They had to sedate me yesterday afternoon and I was out until the next day. I technically skipped breakfast, lunch, and dinner."

Without missing a beat, Aizawa walked into the kitchen and looked in his refrigerator.

"I don't have much. I usually graze throughout the day, but I do have some applesauce if that'd be enough to hold you over." he said to me.

Of course he grazed.

"That'd be fine. Thank you." I said with a smile.

He really did act like a father figure, even to strangers.

He grabbed the applesauce container and handed it off to me before sitting down on his grey couch, letting out a sigh as he leaned back and relaxed.

"There's a place for you to rest down the hall and to the right. My room is across from yours. Should you need anything, I'm only a holler away." he said.

My cheeks couldn't help but flush a little as I paused from slurping down the applesauce. One minute, he's so stubborn and sarcastic. The next, so prepared and generous. I mean, I know he's sweet, but it's another thing to actually see it with my own eyes.

I walked towards the hallway, snack in hand, but stopped and looked back at the exhausted man on the couch.

"Aizawa?" I said.

He lifted his head and looked at me.

"Thank you." I said softly as I smiled and turned around before walking into the other room.

Aizawa nodded and hummed in response, before letting his head lean back on the couch again.
