It's the triple update for me.

I blink twice. "Spoils of war?" I repeat, not understand what the hell the irritating Alpha is blathering on about.

"Yes, Katrina, spoils of war," Killian says slowly, like I'm a moron. "It's the compensation someone receives for aiding in a war effort."

"I know what it means," I snap at him, and his grin only widens. "What the fuck am I doing here? Surely you can transfer land without me being here to witness it."

"I don't want land," Killian says simply. "I want you."

No. He couldn't possibly be implying that I'm his prize for fighting in the war over a year ago.

"Are you fucking stupid?" I ask lowly. Alpha Cole inhales sharply.

Killian pretends to think. "I don't believe so, no."

"I am not a fucking piece of land or artillery. You can't just come here and try to claim me as some sort of compensation," I hiss.

"Yes, he can," Alpha Cole says, giving me a warning look. "Iron Claw lost the war to Blood Lake. Blood Lake has confirmed that Crimson Shadow would receive reparations in the form of spoils of Alpha Killian's choosing."

"You can't be serious," I say in disbelief. Collecting spoils of war is an archaic tradition, rarely ever practiced in modern times, and when it is, it's always spoils of land or warriors.

"Deadly," Killian says, flashing his canines at me wickedly.

I lunge at his throat, but before my hands can wrap around his neck and throttle him, he disappears in thin air.

"Boo," I hear him whisper in my ear from behind me.

If it were anyone else, I would know where and when he would be somewhere, knowing exactly what he planned on doing. But since it's Killian, my Sight is an empty void of nothingness.

I twirl around and throw a fist at him, but he catches it easily. "Now, now, Katrina. It's very rude to assault an Alpha," He drawls, still grinning.

"I will kill you," I whisper, though I know the Alpha can hear me anyways.

"Katrina Parker!" Alpha Cole says in shock. "Apologize to Alpha Killian immediately."

Killian smiles at me expectantly, and I resist the urge to spit in his face.

"I'm very sorry, Alpha Killian," I say sweetly.

"Apology accep-"

The words come out of my mouth before I can stop them. "Sorry that it takes so long in the morning for you to get dressed while you try pulling a shirt over your fat head!"

Alpha Cole chokes and Killian lets out a loud laugh. "Oh my, am I going to enjoy having you in Crimson Shadow, darling," Killian says, his sapphire eyes twinkling in amusement.

"Over. My. Dead. Body."

"And what a lovely body that is, my dear," He says, waving his hand dismissively. "Although it would be unfortunate if I had to declare war on Iron Claw for not delivering my spoils."

I narrow my eyes at him. "You wouldn't."

His eyes glow. "Wouldn't I?" He asks softly, and without my Sight, I am completely unsure of what he would or would not do.

"Katrina would be happy to go to Crimson Shadow with you," Alpha Cole quickly says. "After all, it's only temporary, right?"

"Sure," Killian says flippantly, and Sight or no Sight, I know he will never let me leave.

"One month," I say through clenched teeth. "I'll go for a month."

Killian has all of the power here, and we all know it, but he decides to play the game anyways. "Six," He bargains.

"One."

"Twelve."

"I'm not sure you understand how this works," I roll my eyes.

He has a wicked glint in his eyes as he tells me, "No, darling, I don't think you understand how this works. I don't have to bargain at all. I could throw you over my shoulder and pull you into a portal to Crimson Shadow, keep you there forever, and there's nothing you could do about it."

He's right, and I hate him for being right. I hate him for a lot of reasons, but being right is the main one right now.

"Three," I acquiesce.

"Deal."

Alpha Cole exhales in relief. "Katrina, you'll leave with him immediately. Please do not embarrass Iron Claw during your stay."

"Wouldn't dream of it," I mutter sarcastically.

Killian flicks his hand, and a portal of swirling black and purple appears. He offers his hand. "Shall we?"

I ignore his hand and step through the portal, ignoring his chuckle as he follows after me, and I fall through total darkness.

When I finally land, I groan as my feet hits the floor. I feel nauseated, way too nauseated and I run for my bathroom.

Wait.

My bathroom.

After I'm done throwing up in my toilet, I glare at Killian, who followed me.

"You should have taken my hand, darling," He shakes his head in disappointment.

"What the fuck are we doing in my house?" I hiss, going to the sink to brush my teeth.

"Well, since you're going to be coming home with me-" Killian begins salaciously.

"Don't," I warn. "Don't make it sound sexual."

Killian laughs. "It's not my fault you can't control your attraction to me. In your defense, nobody can."

I ignore him as I brush my teeth, and when I turn around, I realize that he's no longer behind me in my bathroom.

"No," I groan, walking into my bedroom, which is also my living room and kitchen.

Killian lays on my bed, flipping through one of my books. "Confortable bed, Katrina. A little stiff though. Feel like breaking it in?"

"I'll punch you so hard you go through it," I say, my voice saccharine.

"Tempting offer, little Seer," He coos. "How'd you know I like it rough?"

I ignore him, pulling a bag out of my closet and stuffing it with clothes. And when I turn around, Killian is no longer sprawled on my bed.

He's standing by my dresser, holding up a lace lingerie set. "These," He states. "I like these, bring these."

I try to stop my face from flushing at his words, and decide to play into his stupid little games that he loves so much.

He looks at me in mild surprise as I cross the small room, and put my hand on his face. "Why, do you have any hot friends?" I ask innocently.

Killian's eyes narrow, and I know I'm treading on thin ice, but I push on anyways. "What's your Beta's name again?" I pretend to try to remember. "Knox, right? I bet he would be really good at-"

Killian grabs me by the wrist, pulling my skin away from his. "You're playing with fire, my dear. Try not to get burnt," He advises, his voice low.

I snatch my wrist away, feeling victorious. I may not have my Sight, but I can always rely on my innate ability to get under someone's skin.

"As you wish, Alpha," I say with a smirk.

Katrina: 1. Aggravating Alpha: 0.

When I finish packing up my bag, I throw it at Killian, who catches it with ease. "Be a dear and hold my luggage, would you?" I request after the fact.

He bows mockingly, my heavy bag still in his arms. "At your service, milady."

I roll my eyes, and he opens another portal, holding out his hand for me. I hesitate.

"Take the hand, Katrina," He orders.

"Why are you doing this?" I ask quietly.

He frowns. "Because if you don't have something tethering you, you'll be floating around between the dimensions and get sick."

"No, I mean why are you doing this?" I clarify. "Couldn't you just have taken land, warriors, anything else? Anyone else?"

"I already have more than enough land and warriors," He responds simply. "The Blood Alpha agreed to let me take what I want from Iron Claw. I already told you. I want you."

"Why?" I snarl, biting back vile words I want to say to him.

"You're a Seer," He states the obvious. "Crimson Shadow hasn't had a decent Seer in years."

I narrow my eyes at him. "Is that all there is to it?"

Killian shrugs. "Do you want there to be something else to it?"

"No," My answer is immediate, fast, too fast. Suspiciously fast, and I get a smirk in response.

"Quit stalling. Let's go," Killian once more offers his hand, and I take it in my gloved one.

And then he pulls me into Crimson Shadow.

Katrina: 1

Killian: 3 months
