Delaney

I felt my hands shaking by my sides. I built up my courage and looked in the mirror. What I saw made me smile.

My blue eyes popped against the smokey eyeshadow and sharp eyeliner. My freckles were still accented on my nose, not covered by my smooth foundation.

My hair was curled in small pieces. The waves made my honey hair look beautiful. In flower down the sides of my face and sat against my jawline.

My light blue dress hugged my tiny waist and made my boobs look perky. My leg looked sexy showing from the side-slit.

The blue was perfect. It was light enough to pop against my darker blue eyes and make my skin look tanner.

I felt beautiful.

It don't remember the last time I felt this sexy. I would make the most of every moment tonight with my love.

Strapping on my black pumps I made my way downstairs. My heals clicked against the hardwood. The room became silent as soon as I walked in.

"Woah." I heard Xavier mutter. I lifted my gauze from the floor to observe his mesmerized face. My confidence boosted instantly at the way he looked at me.

"You're beautiful, sweetheart," he continued.

I blushed, unused to so many eyes on me. Hopefully my rosy checks were hidden by my makeup.

"You too." I murmured.

"I'm beautiful?" He asked, amused.

I grinned up at him with a wink. Then I walked over and hugged all my boys. Everyone was here. Carter was going as well, since he was also a senior.

Scott got us lined up for pictures. He was acting like a proud mom. The thought made me giggle. He ushered everyone into different positions and took pictures of everyone.

Mikey was here as well. I loved having him around again. Hopefully he wasn't mad at me for getting pregnant. I couldn't stand to lose him. I put a protective hand on my stomach quickly.

Xavier came and wrapped an arm around my waist, laying his hand overtop of mine.

"Okay we should get going." I interrupted Scott's photoshoot that lasted likely and hour. Everyone seemed happy that I ended their misery.

"Okay. Have fun, Delaney. Take care of her, boy." He lectured Xavier and myself before giving me a kiss on top of my head.

We headed to the door and waved goodbyes to everyone who watched us from the porch.

Awkward.

We walked into the gym confidently. I felt high. The feeling of love clouded my brain. Between Xavier, the Thomas family, Mikey, and the baby, I was happy.

I met up with the girls as Xavier found Jacob. He was chasing some girls by the punch.

"Eeek! You're gorgeous!"

"I love your dress!"

The girls twirled me around to look at my dress. I giggled quietly and thanked them, complimenting them in return.

"Shortie!" I heard before I was tackled in a huge hug.

I laughed after regaining my balance, hugging Jacob back. I saw Xavier shaking his head behind him.

"Hey hot stuff," he flirted with Maria beside me. I moved over to Xavier and watched as she shot him down.

"Get away, perv."

"Come on. Let's go dance." I pulled Xavier with me to the floor as I made my way through the crowd of people.

He pulled me closer to his chest and I wrapped my arms around him.

We sway slowly as I sing softly. I don't know how long we danced but it was peaceful and amazing.

The music was a soft harmony in the background. The voices of everyone else drown out by our own little bubble.

Prom was over and we were walking in the park by my house. Xavier had a protective arm around me as we walked.

"Close your eyes," he commanded me.

"Uh...why?"

"It's a surprise."

I closed my eyes and followed his lead silently. My excitement was peaking.

"Open."

My eyes burned with happy tears at the sight.

A huge tree was covered in cute fairy lights. It sparkled perfectly against the night stars.

"You did all this?" I gestured to the tree and blanket that was laid under it neatly.

"Anything for my girl."

He pulled me down onto the blanket and got comfortable. I sat between his legs with my back against his chest. His hand rubbed circles on my tummy.

All that could be heard was our mixed breaths.

"We need to talk, Laney."

My heart rate picked up. Was he going to break up with me? Did I do something wrong?

"Umm...." I stalled, not really wanting to hear it.

I could hear ringing in my ears. My heart thudded in my chest like a steady drum.

I looked up at Xavier trying to read him.

He looked nervous, really nervous. What could scare him like this?

"I really hope you don't leave me over this. I'm sorry," he said quickly. Tears filled his eyes as he peered at me.

My mind went to dark places. I could feel it breaking at his words.

"I-uhh..did you do something bad?" I asked, fearing his answer.

"Depends on how you take it."

I stared at him. My eyes searched his face, memorizing every inch incase this is the last time I'm ever this close to him.

I took a deep, calmly breath. When I got my hands to stop shaking, I focused all of my attention on my boy.
