"Let me take you out" Anthony said .. I looked over at him and smiled. We were in my room doing homework for our math classes and he just randomly blurted that.

"Okay" I said "for real?" He asked "why're you so shocked?" I asked him "I don't know, I guess I wasn't expecting an okay" he admitted. "Well we're always together and I enjoy your company so why not" I shrugged.

He then smiled at me. "How's tonight?" He asked "I would like that very much" I said. "Bet" Anthony got up and started packing his things "where you going?" I asked him "back to my room, I gotta go plan this out" he said, I laughed at him as he left my room.

I scrolled around on my instagram looking to see if there were any old pictures I should delete off my page. I came across the last picture Keenan and I took in Detroit right before we left for school.

This was just taken three weeks ago and now look where we are. I'm about to text him and I don't even care .. actually I'm gonna call him.

I dialed his number that I knew by heart and it began to ring, at first he declined it which is something he has never done before.

So I dialed it again ... and this time he picked up.

"Hello" he answered "so we're denying my calls now?" I asked him "it's not like it's an emergency Tiara" he said.

I can't believe he's really talking to me like this. "You don't know what it could've been, we don't deny each other's calls Keenan" I said to him. "We use to not do that" he said. "Is this really you speaking right now?" I asked him. "Who else would it be?" He chuckled. Now he's finding the humor in this. "I can't believe you, I'm your best friend Keenan. The person that has always been there for you through literally everything since freshmen year. And you're about to sit here and let this girl come in between us" I freaked out on him.

Lani was now in the room, she looked at me with a questioning look on her face. I wiped my eyes because I already knew tears were coming. "You let Korey come in between us" he said. That's when I went silent.

"I didn't let Korey do anything. I was still with you and never tried to leave you or our friendship for him" I said to him. "If that's what you want to think" he sounds like he doesn't even care.

"What's triggering this Keenan? Is this because I was dancing on Anthony?" I asked him "it doesn't matter Tiara, I have Alexis ... I don't need you ..." he said to me.

My heart dropped and I hung up the phone on him. "Ti...?" Lani called to me.

"I um .. I gotta go" I grabbed my jacket and left out of my dorm. There's this rooftop that overlooks the city of D.C. only a block down from our dormitory.

I texted one of my close friends that I remembered lived in D.C.

"Can you meet me please?" I texted her. She replied right away "of course.. rooftop?" She asked "yes". I said and then clicked my phone off.

It felt really good outside, it was still somewhat summer time so at night it was like 70 almost 75 degrees. I still brought my jacket just in case because this weather can be so unpredictable.

I walked fast to the rooftop and I saw her curly hair already sitting there waiting for me.

"Hey" I said. She turned around and smiled at me. "Hi!" She said excitedly and engulfed me with a big hug.

We then sat down "so what's going on chica?" She asked me "Keenan.." I said to her "what's going on with him?" She asked me.

"I honestly don't know. He cut me off. Like completely" I told her. She gasped "I don't believe you" she said. "Well believe it, Alexis is back so he told me that he doesn't need me when he has her" I said.

"But he needed you when she was the one cheating on him? With his teammate? ... when she tried to force him to do hardcore drugs? Does he not remember her trying to drug him? Does he not remember her trying to get you expelled?? What about the time she crashed his car on purpose because she thought! He was cheating on her? He doesn't remember none of that or you being there to pick up the pieces?" She asked me.

"Skylar ... he's done with me" I said to her "I refuse to believe that, Keenan will never be done with you. He's in love with you for crying out loud" she said

I sighed "he's only doing this because pushing you away will help him get rid of his feelings for you, I know deep down you still probably have feelings for him" Skylar said.

I never really talk about the feelings I had for Keenan at one point because I didn't understand them ... and I don't talk about things I don't understand myself. 

"Y'all just need to have a sit down , face to face and talk it out" she suggested.

"I don't like the fact that I'm really trying my hardest to understand all of this. It's not adding up. I'm so lost and I -... I can't lose him Skylar. Keenan is my everything, he's my other half literally. Just not talking to him for this week has created these wounds that only he can patch up" I explained to her.

She sighed right along with me. "You gotta let him miss you Tiara" she said.

"Once he sees that it's not affecting you, he'll come running back. Or he'll just realize what a dumb mistake he's made. Alexis doesn't love him. But Tiara does, you never tried to change who he is as a person, you never tried to intentionally hurt him .. physically or mentally. You're his person. Not her. But if he wants to go through this petty phase of his. Let him. But do not let it put you down. You have school to focus on right now. Miss nursing major" she smiled.

I knew Skylar could make me feel better. She's also originally from Detroit but she moved to D.C. right after our freshmen year of high school. Me and her have been close since sixth grade. We didn't let the distance come in between our friendship. She was a phone call away and so was I , we took that saying literal. It feels good seeing her again.

"Thanks for meeting with my Skylar" I said to her "you don't have to thank me. What are sisters for" she smiled and gave me another big hug. "You look really great by the way" she complimented "so do you, I'm loving all this hair .. it fits you" I said to her "thanks" she said while playing with it.

"I'm gonna head back now" I said to her "alright. Let me know when you get back to your dorm and keep me updated with everything , plus we gotta go get lunch one day" she mentioned. "Of course, I'll see you later" we hugged again and then went our separate ways.

Skylar's right, I just have to focus on myself and do me. I can't control Keenan and who he chooses to do things with. At the end of the day we all know who his heart is with. And it damn sure isn't Alexis.

I gotta go get ready for my date with Anthony ..
