Hayley's POV

"You know I care about you." Dana said while I continued grading homework. "Don't act like you are too busy to hear me, you are grading toddler's homework, not college essays. I'm sure you can multitask."

Putting the pen down with a sigh, I looked up at my friend- it still feels weird to say think of her as that. "How can I help you Dana?"

"By giving me some attention! How about that?" She stood up from my barstool and went to the sofa instead as I watched her from my spot.

"Well you have it right now. So what is it?" I looked at the filipino girl expectantly who patted the seat besides her. Relenting I went and took the seat.

"Perfect. As I was saying-you know I care about you and that's why I want us to go out tonight-"

"Dana I don't think-" she shushed me by putting a finger against my lips.

"It's not up for discussion. Your way of dealing with your heartbreak these past two months has been by drowning yourself with work or anything that might keep you busy-which is not really healthy. So now is time for you to go out there and have some fun."

I rolled my eyes and moved her finger off, "I'm not ready to date again, nor do I want to."

God knows I'm not over Morgan at all.

Speaking of-I haven't spoke with her ever since the day we broke up. I admit there has been times where I wanted to call her, apologize and ask her to get back together. Luckily I restrained myself from doing so. However the main reason why I really haven't called is because I would look stupid. I dumped her so I have no right to be calling her. I would just be looking like an idiot.

It's better this way.

"Listen, I'm not saying that you have to date or marry anyone that you meet tonight. Just that kissing a girl or two could do you some good as the first step for you to move on." Dana put her hands on my shoulders as she oh so carefully explained.

"Kissing strangers is going to help me move on?" I asked sarcastically.

"It does help more than you could imagine-at least at first, like right now for you."

"Did you do it?"

Dana sighed and laid her head on my lap, "I did. My last boyfriend before Andy left me a real mess, I partied and kissed strangers after I was done with the sulking and crying."

"I'm still not sure Dana." I poked her nose making her do a funny face.

"Come on, I'll tell Monique and it can be a girl's night out. We can even check out that new gay bar downtown."

"You? In a gay bar?"

"Yeah! Why not?" She raised a brow as she sat up with her arms crossed.

"No reason." I couldn't contain my laughter at her glare.

Dana groaned, "Doesn't matter. We gotta go out tonight, trust me it'll be fun."

-

"This is not fun." I stood in the middle of the club with my two friends by my side.

Monique chuckled while I saw Dana roll her eyes. "Don't be a party pooper, we just arrived-we haven't even had a drink."

"She's right, we should definitely go get one." Monique commented before walking away to the bar.

"See? Let's go." Dana pulled me by the arm towards the bar-following behind Monique. "Hey!" She called out to the bartender who was shamelessly shaking her out.

Oh god.

"How can I help you beautiful?" The woman tending the bar spoke to Dana causing her to giggle like a high school girl with a crush-ignoring my presence, not that it bothered me.

I rolled my eyes while Monique found this rather amusing, she already had a drink at hand. When did she even get it?

"Yeah, hi- can we get a round of shots." Dana asked ever so sweetly.

"Coming right up cutie." The bartender winked at my friend before moving to make the shots.

"You could make it a bit more obvious that you are a straight girl in a gay bar, D." Monique commented-looking between the now busy bartender and our friend.

"What did I do?" Dana asked with genuine confusion making Monique and I chuckle.

"Nothing, go grab the shots." The taller girl nodded towards the bar. Dana did as told and soon enough was back with them-passing one for each of us.

"Cheers besties." Dana raised her shot glass before downing it. I rolled my eyes playfully but followed her lead and so did Monique.

"Shit, vodka is disgusting." I scrunched my face.

"You say that now-won't be saying that after the third or fourth one." Monique looked at me with a teasing grin.

"Oh I love this song!" Dana exclaimed and pulled us towards the dance floor-I swear she's like a kid with a sugar rush.

We dance for most of the night, preventing us from being wasted... well at least from being absolutely waste. I admit that I am drunk, but not wasted like Dana is. Looks like she's a bit of a lightweight, or Monique and I have a better alcohol tolerance.

However Dana thought this might happen so she had us come in an uber rather than any of us driving here. That was smart of her.

We all settled on going to my place as it was the closest one, I didn't have any problem so I accepted.

"I- I need some... help with her, Monique please." I tried to speak coherently as I failed to get Dana inside the elevator.

"Shit right, let me just... I'll grab her side and you the other." Monique slurred out, she was as drunk as I was. Luckily none of us as bad as our friend.

I pressed the bottom to my floor while trying to manage not to fall to the ground along with Dana, she may be short but she's dead weight right now. "Where's your apartment?"

"Hmm..." it took me a second to focus on where we were and what exactly she was asking. "Last one on the right."

I got my house keys as we got in front of the door. I fumbled a bit with the knob until I finally succeeded in opening it, "Where should we put her?" Monique asked.

"My room." I closed the door and then
stumbled with the coffee table as we headed to my bedroom but was able to regain balance quickly enough somehow.

We managed to put Dana on my bed, leaving her on the dress she was wearing and only taking off her shoes. I was too tired to change her and we were both not comfortable changing her clothes while she was passed out.

"Can you lend me some clothes?" Monique asked me.

Looking at Monique, who was staring back at me, I nodded. "Yeah, sure." I walked pass her and went to grab a shirt and sweatpants from my closet to give to her. I came across one of Morgan's shirts she had forgot here and all I could feel was angry.

For what? I'm not sure.

Fuck you Morgan Valentine, why do I have to love you?

"Hayley are you okay?" I felt a hand on my shoulder before I was turned around by it. I looked at her confused and she just pointed to her face with confusion as well, "You are crying."

Shit, how didn't I even notice, "This is embarrassing."

My tears seemed to have sobered Monique enough to look at me with genuine worry. "No it's not. What happened? Are you okay?"

I nodded as I wiped my tears, but more kept falling. "Yeah... yeah- I... no I'm not." I broke out into a sob then.

Great I'm having a sad drunk night.

Monique came and hugged me, a bit awkwardly at first but it was the thought that mattered. "Hey is okay. Is this about your ex?" I cried harder at that. "Got it." She kept holding me while I cried on her shoulder, never saying a word.

"I'm pathetic." I mumbled.

Monique pulled back so she could look at me, even though I didn't really to see my tear stained face that I'm sure was a mess. "You are not pathetic, Hayley, you are just heartbroken... and drunk." I chuckled with her at that last part. "This is a normal thing to happen so don't beat yourself up about it, okay?"

"I'll try."

"I'm guessing that's best I'll get."

"Yeah... unless you want me to lie."

Monique shook her head, "I'll take it. Why don't you go change. I can sleep in the sofa because I doubt the three of us can fit there." We turned to look at a passed out Dana that was taking almost all the space in the bed. "Or even two of us," I giggled when I heard the sleeping girl start to snore.

"I can take the sofa, you are my guest." I looked at Monique again.

"Yeah, we are not doing this." Monique took the clothes from my hand and walked to the bedroom door. "Goodnight Hayley." She looked back at me with a smile before exiting the room and quietly closing the door behind.

"Goodnight."
