Morgan's POV

"Any plans for Thanksgiving today then?" I asked as I rummaged through my clothes.

"Darling I'm not American I do not celebrate Thanksgiving. However I am on a plane to Ibiza as we speak." Elizabeth responded.

We were on a video call so I'll take this chance for her to help me to pick something to wear for the evening. Elizabeth fashion sense is pretty amazing even though our style is a bit different I know she can help me.

"Right, I forgot you are Bri'ish." I joked.

"You are not funny."

I grabbed two shirts and showed them to Elizabeth through the camera—ignoring her comment. "Which one?"

She put her shades up on her head and looked at the both. "The black turtle neck is a bit basic for Thanksgiving isn't it? I like the white turtleneck better, however you would look delightful in both."

"I'm flattered that you think so."

I trew the black turtleneck on the bed and took off my shirt so I could put on the white turtleneck. I already showered an hour ago so all I have left to do is change.

"What a sight for sore eyes." I heard Elizabeth say as her face was now closer to the camera as I stood on my room without a shirt on.

"Kiss ass."

"You know that's no way to respond to a compliment, bitch."

"Oh, Miss Manners called me a bitch that's new." I chuckled as I put the shirt over my head.

"You are my bitch so might as well start addressing you properly."

I grabbed my phone and put my face in front of the camera and narrowed my eyes. "Do you call all your employees your bitch?"

"Again with what I do to the rest of my employees?"

"Oh I know what you do to them... you invite them to a threesome." I smirked and laughed at the glare on Elizabeth's face.

"I'll make sure not to include you in the next one."

"So you are planning a next one?"

Elizabeth rolled her brown eyes.

"Morgan get over it—" She was cut off by my mom yelling from downstairs.

"Morgan can you help your brother tie his shoes!" My mom yelled way too loud even though she was all the way downstairs.

"Coming!" I responded and looked back at the gorgeous woman on my phone. "I gotta go, sisterly duty calls."

She hummed, "You should introduce me to your family one of the these days."

I choked on my own spit when she said that. "I— me— you want me to... huh—" I struggled to say in between coughs.

"Morgan my shoes!" Matty barged into my room running and yelling.

Saved by the toddler!

"Sorry gotta run talk to you later!" I said to her in a single breath.

"Wa—" Elizabeth didn't get to finish as I quickly ended the call.

I sighed and looked at my little brother—who was grabbing one of my comics from my collection. I quickly stood up, took it from him and carried him to my gaming chair so I could tie up his shoes.

"Next time don't be running around with your shoelaces untied bud, you could fall and hurt yourself, okay?" I told him as I finished tying his left shoe.

"Sorry sissy."

I arranged the light blue v neck sweater he had on and ruffled his hair. "All good little man." He then ran off of my room and back to his.

I went back to search for my clothes in now hopes on finding some matching pants to go with the turtleneck, because I don't think wearing these joggers for dinner is a good combination. I settled on some high waste light jeans and white nike air forces along with a black coat over the turtleneck.

When I got downstairs my mom was changed and ready as well as my dad—who was arranging the table with Matty while my mom stood in front of the oven checking it. Then the bell of the door sounded.

"Morgan open it up please, that's probably your aunt and cousins." My dad told me as now searched for a bottle of wine.

I did as my dad asked for and in fact it was my cousins and my aunt. When my aunt saw me she was shocked and started to bombard me with a bunch of questions about my life while my uncle and cousins went with my dad and Matty. I couldn't get out of the grasp of my aunt until the rest of our family arrived.

I sneaked to the kitchen while everybody was in the livingroom and checked my phone to see if I got any messages from Hayley.

I finally asked for her number, it wasn't easy to get her to give it to me but I prevailed at the end.

Just in time somebody knocked on the front door and I dashed to it so I could be the one to open it. And there it was, Hayley stood at the other side of the door in a fitting black long sleeved dress and heels. It wasn't too fancy or nothing, it was perfect. She looked perfect.

"Wow." I let out accidentally checking her out. I looked up to her face to see she had her usual arched brow—I cleared my throat, "I mean— hey."

"Valentine." Hayley then extended her hands showing me some dessert she brought. "It's a cheesecake—I didn't know what else to bring, take it."

"You didn't have to bring anything, but thanks." I grabbed the cake and let her into the house. "Mom!" I yelled as I guided to the kitchen to leave the cake there.

"What Mo— oh Hayley sweetie you made it!" My mom said excitedly once she noticed Hayley and went in to hug her.

"Hello Caitlin." Hayley said with a smile on her face as she hugged my mom back.

"You look beautiful," my mom backed away and looked at the blonde. "Doesn't she look beautiful Morgan?" They both turned to look at me.

"Yeah... sure, very." I smiled nervously as Hayley send me a teasing smirk.

"I was already planning on inviting you for dinner tonight so I was glad when Morgan told she already did so." My mom told her as she dragged Hayley to the livingroom as they spoke.

This is going to be a long night.

-

And it was—so far I've fought with my cousin Tommy twice, even if he's grown he's still a little whiny bitch. It hasn't been that much of an entertaining night... mostly because my mom along with my aunts have held hostage Hayley since after dinner. She's the only person here my age and yet.

So I'm drinking beer in the backyards while everyone else is talking and drinking inside while Matty and my little cousins are distracted playing video games upstairs.

"Why so moody?" I turned to see Hayley slip into the backyard.

"I'm not moody." I responded and took a sip of my beer, "Maybe a bit tipsy but not moody."

She made her way to where I was and sat next to me. "Can I have one?" She pointed at the beers.

I eyed her up, "Are you drunk?"

"Maybe a bit tipsy," she repeated my words and grabbed a beer for herself.

"Had fun with my mom and aunts?"

She nodded while taking a drink for the beer. "Oh yeah, we were tearing you down so bad."

I laughed and so did she.

"I'm not surprised about that, my aunt Maryann loves making fun of my love life."

"It is pretty hilarious. You had a girlfriend who stole your car?" Hayley raised a brow.

"Callie was a bit shady I'll admit... not my fault she was good at playing girlfriend until my car disappeared." I mumbled the last part and took a swig from the bottle.

Hayley however bursted out laughing, "You're unbelievable."

"Yeah? And what about your love life? Tell me about it."

"No thank you, but I can assure you that none of them stole my car." She tilted the bottle once she said that and the continued to drink the rest of it's contents.

We spoke for what it was probably hours even after we were left without more beers to drink. We talked like we had been friends all of our lives — we might do know each other since we were little kids but we obviously have not been friends all our lives-but now it felt like it. It was comforting actually.

I checked the time and saw that it was way pass midnight. My family was still enjoying themselves inside, probably because the kids were long asleep for some hours now.

"It's late I should go home." Hayley said after checking the time on her phone as well.

I nodded and stood up from the chair. Hayley seemed to be having a hard time standing up as she was perhaps a bit more than just tipsy now—so I helped her up by grabbing her hand and gently pulling her up.

"Thanks," she muttered.

"You can't drive like this."

"Well I didn't drive—a uber dropped me here." Hayley giggled.

She's totally drunk.

"Come on I'll drive you home." I pulled her inside the house.

Good thing I'm already sobered up.

Inside Hayley went to say goodbye to my parents and the rest of my parents while I told my mom that I would drive her home. She told me to be careful and then we left.

"Care to tell me your address?" I asked her when we were inside the car.

"You just want to stalk me more," Hayley giggled again.

"Hayley put the address on the GPS, I promise I won't 'stalk you'."

She turned to me with her green eyes drowsy and her head resting against the seat's headboard. "Fine, you are no fun," she leaned close to the car's GPS and put in her adress. "There."

"Thank you." I backed the car away from my house and started to drive our way to her place.

The ride was rather silent as I saw Hayley was on her seat trying to fight off the sleep and stay awake. I drove a bit faster but not too fast as I didn't want risk getting us in an accident or anything.

Soon enough we were in front of Hayley's it was a small building downtown — not that far from my house. I turned to the blonde to see her still awake but barely. I shook her shoulder lightly.

"Hayley come on, we are here." I got out of the car and went around the car to open her door so I could help her get out.

It was really cold so I gave her my coat and she gladly accepted it. "Thanks," she mumbled.

I followed behind her as I intended to walk her all the way to the door of her apartment. The building seemed to have merely four floors and Hayley lived in the in the second floor.

"Need help?" I offered as she fumbled as she tried to get the keys inside the lock.

"Nope... I got it," she said under her breath. After a few more seconds of trying she finally successfully opened the door. "I would invite you to come in, but I don't want to."

"Always so sincere, aren't you?" I let out a short laugh. "I should get going anyway."

"Do whatever you want then." Hayley said with a lopsided smile — her eyes still drowsy.

A thought occurred to me in that moment.

"Why didn't you want to talk to me the first day we met again?" I asked.

Hayley lopsided smile turned in a toothy grin as she got closer to me. "Nice try but drunk or not you are not getting answers out of me, Valentine." She bopped the tip of my nose with her finger before turning back around to the door of her apartment.

"I was not trying to."

She hummed and let out a chuckle after.

"Goodnight Morgan."

I shook my head but still smiled, "Night Hayley."

She looked at me for a second before she softly closed the door.
