That evening after school I was chasing after Mason because he had a notebook of mine, that was actually my diary.

"Reid give me my book back!" I yelled, chasing after him in the courtyard.

"You have to catch me, first slowpoke." He laughed.

To be honest, I was enjoying myself, it has been a while since the two of us really goofed off like they were kids again.

I got lost in thought and somehow managed to trip and start rolling.

"Ahhhh!" I screamed as I came to a stop.

Mason rushed over to help me up, "you ok." He tried to hide his laugh but couldn't.

"Yea." I took his hand but immediately let go, I felt shivers running through my body and had to wonder if he felt it too.

"What happened?" Mason looked me over for any injures.

"I tripped," I told him then looked away, the way the sunlight caught his eyes was almost mesmerizing

He burst out laughing at that, "over nothing."

"I'm just that talented." I huffed, pretending to be upset then walked away.

Mason ran after me, as he tried to contain his laughter, "just remember that you have to come to my game later Forbes."

He finally handed me my book. "By the way, it's i-m-m-e-d-i-a-t-e-l-y, not e-m-m-e-d-a-t-l-y.''

I froze, ''you read it?''

Mason gave me a sheepish look, ''some parts.'' He looked away.

My heart skipped a beat, what part did he read? I didn't know what to say or do, I just stood there shocked while Mason leered at me.

I have never left so awkward before with Mason until now.

"See you later,'' he kicked his feet, not looking my way.

"Yeah,'' I nod then head for my car.

I sat in my car for a while, still stunned. What if Mason had read my last entry, about me putting pen to paper and expressing how I felt about him. About how my feelings for him as grown over the years, maybe about how I think I might like Romaine.

I felt like going back there and ask him what he read but that might only make things even more awkward, besides he already said it, he doesn't like good girls.

I took my time driving home, glad that my three-month ban on my car has been lifted. Never will I ever listen to Mason about doing street racing again.

I hurried up to her room the moment I got home, not wanting to talk to my mother, I just want to leave the house again as soon as possible.

Cady loved her mom but she has done and forced me to do things she didn't like, for the sake of my father.

When I got up to my room, I was surprised to see a package on the bed with Mason's handwriting.

'For you to wear.' It said.

When I ripped open the package I was surprised to see a black and red dress in the school colours.

I showered and slipped the dress on away, then paired it with black and red checked Allstars sneakers.

I looked myself over in the mirror, noticing a pimple in the center of my forehead, my oval-shaped face and olive skin were normally blemish-free but not today.

My hair was still perfect, deeply curled down to my shoulders from this morning, surprised that the humidity didn't cause it to frizz out.

The red and black dress hugged my small frame fitting her well and it was uncanny as to how Mason knew my size.

The only thing I hated was the fact that the dress wasn't long enough to hide the scabs on my knees, which was caused by cliff jumping with Mason.

I dug around my make-up bag which I hardly ever use to apply red lipstick to my pale pink thin lips, black eyeshadow and a little blush. I looked in the mirror and scrunched my nose up then wiped it off, I did a full face of make-up instead and pulled my hair up in a high ponytail.

I gave myself another once over, after feeling satisfied with my look I hurried downstairs and out of the house.

I had to keep pulling down the dress every now and then, still not believing that I'm wearing this. Well, it's not like I had to but knowing Mason he would send me back home to change.

He was a bad influence in some ways but I just can't say no to him, especially when he pouts.

The school's parking lot was buzzing with life, with students, teachers and adults alike, all excited for the game tonight, the game that will push Clermont high to the semi-finals.

I walked around the field looking for Mason, it didn't take long for me to spot him. Which he was there talking with Aubery.

"Reid." I only greeted him.

"Forbes, you made it." He smiled, his tone was overly happy.

We hugged each other and I felt strange when he pulled away.

"You smell nice, I see that you can clean up well Forbes," Mason teased.

I rolled my eyes but played along, "what can I say, I only do it for cute guys that buy me nice things. Reid." I did a little twirl.

There was a huff, causing me to look over at Aubery, she had a look on her diamond shaped-face and her blue eyes held hate. I could tell that she was trying her hardest to impress Mason, with her blonde hair up in pigtails, with red and black ribbons. Black lipstick on her thin lips, and dressed in a red and black jersey, which wasn't holding up her flat chest.

I almost felt bad for ignoring her but I could see that Mason was glad I came along to rescue him from her.

"Oh, hey Aubery," I gave a small wave.

The other girl gave a forced smile, "why do you guys always act like this. Always call each other by the last name, buying gifts for each other, act so loving?"

"We're friends and because we can, I care for her as well." Mason kissed me on the forehead. "Glad you came Forbes."

I don't know why but it seemed as if Mason was acting strange as if he was putting extra effort into his actions

"After the game, there is an after-party." Mason cheered but I shook her head.

"Oh no, Mister, I am grounded remember?" I poked him in the chest, I could see Aubery rolling her eyes. Again I wondered why Mason was acting like this, ignoring Aubrey, who seemed ready to jump him even if they were on the field.

"Live a little Forbes!" Mason shook me by the shoulders.

"Right, every time I do or listen to you, something bad happens." I folded my arms, narrowing my eyes.

"Have I ever told you how cute you look when angry?" Mason smiled.

"Several times,'' I nod. "Anyway, good luck out there.''

I walked away after that, feeling weird with Mason's behaviour Aubery's chilling looks.
