Tyler

"Tyler..." Someone shakes me out of my sleep.

When I don't reply, they do it again.

"Tyler..." This time they sound more annoyed.

Can I ever just get one good nights rest without someone waking me?

With a groan, I sit up to be face to face with an angry Naomi.

"What?" I ask annoyed and tired.

"What is this?" She motions towards a sleeping Amari laying beside me.

A small smile spread across my face as I stare down at her. How can someone be so perfect for me? It was like she was tailored made for me, yet I couldn't even have her.

"It's..." I thought about it. "A sleepover."

"This entire cabin is a sleepover." Naomi rolled her eyes. "Why're you laying down here with her instead of in your bed with me? What? You didn't think I was serious about telling Jake?"

I knew she was serious. I was just contemplating how likely Jake was to actually believe her.

"We're just sleeping, Naomi." I rolled my eyes and held onto my head.

She was giving me a headache and not in a good way.

"Just the two of you. In front of the fake fireplace. On a blow up mattress." Naomi said with a dull tone in her voice. "Do you not see how romantic this scene is?"

"Would it make you feel better if Hunter also sleeps on here?" I asked with a fake smile that I knew she could see through.

"It'll make me feel better if you just came upstairs." She copied my fake smile.

"I'm not so...." I shrugged.

"Fine." Naomi nodded. "I've got something for you."

And just as quickly had she came, she disappeared back upstairs.

Amari

Waking up wrapped in Tyler's arms on Christmas morning was all I asked Santa for and he delivered. I didn't want to move and have him flip over. I didn't want to breath to deeply and wake him. I just wanted to lay here on the blow up mattress in the living room with Tyler.

Of course the moment was a little less romantic because halfway through the night Hunter decided to lay with us, but that didn't stop my heart from pounding whenever Tyler would breath onto my neck. I turned in his arms and snuggled closer to his chest taking in the scent I had been smelling all my life. It never made me feel like this before...

A sigh escaped my lips and I look up at his face only to have my eyes fall on his sketch pad sitting beneath his pillow. I gently pull it from it's hiding spot and stare at the sketches on the page.

How cute was this? It's private and I know that, but I couldn't help myself.

"I hope you enjoy staring at my wonderful artwork before I publish it." Tyler's raspy voice spoke.

"Don't flatter yourself. I'm staring at the most important person in this drawing. Me!" I said dragging a finger over the sketch.

"Well, real life you have bad breath. You should deal with that." Tyler covered his nose and laughed.

"The only reason I'm not going to blow my breath in your face is because I know my breath stinks." I laughed.

We laid there and joked around for a little while longer before finally getting up and going to brush our teeth and wash our faces. When Hunter finally woke up, we all helped to put away the mattress and covers before sitting around in the kitchen until everyone was ready to open gifts.

Tyler

We all sat around the tree and prepared to open our gifts. Hunter sat closest to the tree, Amari and Jake sat together in front of the couch, Naomi and I sat in the big chair, and our parents sat on the couch. We were waiting for Mom to come downstairs, but she had to grab some last minute gifts she forgot to sit under the tree.

"I'm coming!" Mom said as she rushed downstairs with her arms full.

Hunter stood up and helped her with the neatly wrapped gifts.

"Wait!" Mom said. "I need a picture!"

"Now?" Hunter asked looking at everyone. "This isn't the look I chose for this moment! My future wife will see this, Mom. Do you not want grandkids?"

"If she doesn't love you in your Christmas pajamas, she isn't the one." Mom patted his cheek. "Come on!"

We all stood together and smiled as Mom snapped the picture and Mrs. Rose smiled at us like a proud parent watching their child graduate from Harvard.

"Okay! Now everyone open your presents!" Mrs. Rose clapped as we all walked back over to the tree.

The room filled with gasps, laughs, and excited squeals as gifts were opened. Even our parents had gifts from us and each other! It was like we were still kids, but with the added presence of Naomi and Jake.

"Okay one last gift." Dad said walking over to the closet. "It's my favorite and the most expensive."

"Whose it for?" Amari asked sitting up.

"It's for..." He read the names on the small package. "Hunter."

He smiled and handed it to Hunter.

"Hurry and open it!" Mom smiled sitting on the floor to watch him.

"What is it?" I asked looking over to Hunter who was shaking it near his ear.

"You clearly see it isn't open." Hunter gave me a 'duh' face and I rolled my eyes.

Amari

"Hurry up!" I laughed as Hunter took deep breaths.

"Hush. I'm pacing myself." He said.

He took a deep breath and removed the wrapping paper to reveal a small black velvet box.

"I know what it is." Naomi whispered as she clung onto Tyler's arm.

"I think I know too." Tyler laughed.

Did they have to be that close?

"Wait!" Mrs. Brooks screamed pulling her phone out. "I want to record your reaction."

All of our parents had their phones out and pointed at Hunter who wore a big smile. He loved gifts, but there was nothing he loved more than attention.

"Ready?" Hunter laughed glancing up at everyone and we all nodded.

He pulled the lid off of the small box and his already big smile grew as he jumped up and hugged his mother. Mrs. Brooks dropped her phone and held onto Hunter as she laughed.

"What was it?" Mom laughed.

Mr. Brooks picked up the gift and waved a set of car keys at everyone.

"We bought Tyler his first car when he was 15 and now we bought you yours. It's paid in full and we've been putting aside money for it since you were a baby!" Mr. Brooks said.

"What type of car is it?" I asked.

"A Jeep. It's what he wanted." Mrs. Brooks smiled as she rubbed Hunter's back.

He was red in the face and, although he tried to hide it, crying.

"I can't even drive yet!" Hunter laughed.

"As long as you don't let Amari teach you, you'll be fine." Tyler said and I threw a pillow at him.

"I'm a good driver!" I scoffed. "And I'll even teach you, Hunter!"

"Just to be on the safe side, I think I'll read the book." Hunter held his hands up and everyone laughed.

Was I really that bad at driving?
