Livia's P.O.V.

As we look around the shop I hear my phone going off and pull it out. "Who's calling you?" Becca asks, walking up to look at my phone.

I quickly notice Shawn's contact and turn it away, "No one." I dismissed it.

"Well that was sketchy, do you have a secret lover that no one knows about?" Becca questions just as Jenny walks up to the two of us.

She's holding two different paint swabs. "Lavender or sunlight yellow?" Our attempt at finding a theme for her baby shower has turned into what theme her nursery will be.

"Lavender." I tell her, trying to deter the conversation away from me.

Becca doesn't let it go, "Livia has a lover."

    "What?" Jenny asks, clearly confused.

I turn to Bee, "First of all, stop saying lover it's gross." I turn back to Jenny, "Second of all, I do NOT have a secret boyfriend." Not anymore anyway, he doesn't feel the same way as I do. Or maybe he does but he doesn't want to risk it. I understand but it doesn't hurt any less.

Becca puts her hands on her hips, "Oh yeah? Then what's with the secrecy?"

    "Secrecy?" Jenny adds.

"She turned her phone away when she got a call."

"It's not like that." I laugh lightly, trying to ease the situation. What if I did tell them the truth? About Shawn and I, or at least about me cheating on Dean. I don't want to take the chance that they would look at me any differently. Honestly I don't know how I would handle that. So I deflect the questions and scrutiny, " I promise, it's nothing."

I try to keep my tone light and confident. They give me an odd look but temporarily forget about the situation to pay for the paint. My mind wanders to why Shawn would call me. He hasn't made any attempts in contacting me since that day but maybe he wants to talk.

Once the paint and other supplies are paid for we begin to exit the building. It's now night time and I know that I won't be able to do anything until tomorrow.

Shawn's P.O.V.

I keep looking back at her while she sleeps. Katherine didn't want me to leave her until she was asleep so I stayed, sitting on the recliner beside the couch. It has to be around nine o'clock by now. Her body has stopped shaking but she's still sweating in her sleep. Her black hair is sticking to her face so I move it away to make her more comfortable.

Normally I would've told her to leave and never come back. Normally I wouldn't have cared what happened to her. Things have changed. For example the fact that she has a son. I think a part of me feels for Matthew. My mom used to come home high and drunk because she couldn't deal with the past let alone deal with me. If I can help Katherine then maybe I can spare some unnecessary heartache.

Katherine stirs and opens her eyes slowly, when she sees me she smiles. "What?" I ask.

She shakes her head. "Nothing I just, I haven't woken up to you in a really long time." This time is different, she has to know that. Katherine must sense my unease so she changes the subject, "What time is it?"

I look at my phone, "9:26."

"Damn." She curses, "I have a feeling it's going to be a long night." Katherine sits up and stretches. "Can I use your shower? I feel like I'm melting."

I nod and give her instructions for where it is and where the towels are. Once she leaves the room I relax, it really is going to be a long night.

I wake up to the sound of knocking on the door, Katherine is still passed out on the couch. I stand up and make my way over to open it. "Livia." I say, surprised that she's here.

"Hey." She greets me nervously. I can tell she's not sure if she should be here but I'm not sure why. "I just figured you wanted to talk since you called me last night." Livia crosses her arms over her chest and waits patiently for me to answer.

Meanwhile, the only thing I can think about is Katherine waking up and coming to the door. "I never called you." I say.

Livia frowns, pulling out her phone and showing the missed call with my contact. I pull mine out and realize that I did, in fact, call her. I sigh and pinch the bridge of my nose, "I'm sorry, I must've pocket dialed you."

"So, you don't want to talk?" Livia looks defeated, in a way that pains me.

I hold out my hand, "I do, I do it's just...not a good time." Even when we do talk what would I say? 'It's complicated' sure as hell didn't do the trick.

"It's not a good time?" She questions almost angrily.

I try not to argue back and resolve this, "I'm sorry, Livia. We'll talk later okay? I promise."

Livia drops her arms and takes a step back, "Yeah...sure." I watch her walk back to her car without turning to look back at me once. I know everything is confusing and I have a lot of clearing up to do, but for now I need to focus on getting Katherine the help she needs.

I close the door and turn to see Katherine standing right there. I don't know how much she saw. "You didn't tell her I was here."

"It doesn't matter, we're leaving." I grab my coat and put my shoes on. "The sooner I get this over with, the sooner I can talk to Livia."

Katherine doesn't respond, she just goes back to the living room to get her stuff before meeting me back at the door. "Fine, but can we grab some breakfast? I haven't eaten in a while..." She trails off.

"Yeah." I agree, opening the door and gesturing for her to leave first.

We pull up to the closest diner in town. Most of the ride so far has been silent but we quickly make it inside and to a table. A brunette waitress walks over with coffee and two mugs. "Good morning guys, what can I get started for you?"

I look at her name tag and see that her name is Sophia. "The special, for the both of us please." Sophia nods and walks away.

"Why are you in such a rush?" Katherine pulls her hair back into a ponytail. I don't respond so she continues, "Does it have anything to do with Livia?"

I look up at her as I drink my coffee. If we're going to make small talk then it's not going to be about Livia. "There's a rehab in the city that I'm going to take you to. It's only a couple of hours from here and once you contact your parents they can move you to a better one." I was up most of the night researching places.

"Okay." She says softly.

After about ten minutes, Sophia brings our food and fills up our mugs. I try to eat quickly so we can hurry up and leave.

Katherine finishes about half before saying she's done.

We stand to leave while I put money on the table. "Kevin, wait." She says, holding out her hand to stop my movements. I look down at her just before she reaches up and wraps her arms around me in a hug. I'm confused and caught off guard so I stay still, in place. "Thank you." Is all she tells me. After an awkward moment, I wrap my arm around her waist and hug her back. It's weird and uncomfortable but I don't think she notices.

We pull away and so I continue to walk out with Katherine following behind me. Just as we make it to the door I see Hunter Simmons with a man staring at us. I quickly look away, choosing not to comment on what he might've seen. It wouldn't matter anyway, nothing happened with Katherine and I. The real question is whether or not he plans on telling Livia.

The drive down is again filled with silence. Katherine just listened to the radio and looked out the window until we finally pulled up to the rehab center in the city. That's when she turns to look at me, slightly frightened. "I don't want to go in." She whispers.

I press my lips into a firm line, "You have to get help, for Matthew." For herself too. She doesn't want to regret losing time with her son because of drugs.

Katherine nods and looks back to the building. "I guess this is goodbye."

She opens the car door and grabs her bag, "Goodbye, Katherine." I say as she shuts the door and walks towards the entrance. I wait for her to be inside for a few minutes before finally putting my car into drive, and leaving.
