The next day, I promise Bee a tour of the school. I was supposed to tutor today but she promises to be quiet. Other than that, We meet up for lunch at the cafeteria. It's not the normal time I go but I'm almost done with my classes for the day anyway. "This school is huge. I might have to apply here." She says as she picks at her apple. It's always been a weird tick of hers.

I ignore it and respond to her. "What about Luke? Has he figured out what he wants to do yet?"

Becca hesitates before eventually shrugging. "Not that I'm aware of." Her tone is almost sad. I want to comment on it and ask if she's okay. However something else catches her eye. "Holy shit." She says. "Is that Mr. Morgan?"

I turn my head to see Shawn walking into the cafeteria. He doesn't notice us. I turn back to Bee, "Yeah...his new teaching job is here."

She smiles in amusement. "How funny would it be if he was your teacher again?"

I press my lips into a thin line and say, "Actually, he is."

Her eyes jet out in shock. "Wait really?" Then she looks back at my teacher. "Hey Mr. Morgan!"

His head snaps to the two of us but I slouch down as if it would make me invisible. Before I can stop her, she waves him over. Soon Shawn is at our table, looking down at the two of us. "Hey, Becca." My friend waves. "What brings you to New York?" He sounds so nice. Like the fact that we're broken up and I'm right here doesn't phase him at all. Maybe it doesn't.

"I just thought I'd come visit my bestie here." She points to me.

I force myself to smile in an attempt to look as cool as he does. "Hi, Mr. Morgan."

"Livia." The way he says my name makes me want to scream. He hasn't talked to me since the breakup and I feel the need to cry. "Well, enjoy your visit. If you'll excuse me."

"Bye, Mr. Morgan." Becca says as he walks off. Then she turns her attention to me. "I almost forgot how fine he is."

She has no idea. "Yeah." I mumble.

"Why haven't you tried to fuck him yet? He's sexy, you're out of high school, and you becoming his student again is like fate or something." Her words surprise me. I could come clean and tell her everything. I could tell her he was my first and quite possibly the love of my life. If I do, I need to talk to Shawn about it first. For that, there would have to be a relationship to tell her about.

I settle for the obvious. "He's my teacher, Bee. That's it."

Soon she lets it go and we move on. I go to my last class of the day and tell her I'll meet her for my interning. She hangs out in the library until then.

After a very boring class I head to the library, stopping when my phone rings. "Hey Jen, what's up?"

I haven't talked to them much since school started. "I was hoping you could tell me. Luke showed up without Becca. He's staying here but there's something off."

I shrug despite the fact that she can't see me. "She got here last night but now that you mention it, she hasn't talked much about Luke either."

"Will you talk to her?"

"I'm headed that way now." I confirm.

We get off the phone at the same time I reach the library. Becca is sitting at the lounge area with a book in her hand.

"I just got off of the phone with Jenny." Bee looks up at me questionably. I sit down beside her. "So do you want to tell me what's going on with you and Luke?"

My friend sighs as she closes the book and sets it down on her lap. "Do you remember last year? When the six of us went to RAVE. Before Jenny was pregnant and you and Dean still thought you two loved each other. Everything was so simple back then." She talks as if everything was perfect, maybe for her it was.

"Becca things weren't simple, even then." A small tear falls down her cheek. That's the first time I've seen her cry in a really long time. I wrap my arm around her shoulder. "Luke and I were so good back then. So happy and in love. Then suddenly, we were travelling and we couldn't stop fighting. Then we-we broke up and I came here." The thought of the two of them breaking up confuses and hurts me. They were the power couple, the ones who wouldn't be held down or go through what Jenny and I have.

The thought of them being apart is hard to wrap my head around..."Becca I'm so sorry."

My friend sniffles and forces out a small laugh. "Yeah well who were we kidding? We were never really a part of your story. Or Jenny's for that matter." I don't understand where she's coming from.

"Becca you've always been a part of our lives. I also think that you and Luke need to sit down and talk about everything. Put it all out in the open. Until then stay here with me. Think about what you really want in life." I move Bee's hair out of her face and try to smile. She needs me right now but she also needs to figure out herself. Things like what her next step is and whether or not she wants to take it with Luke.

Bee nods. "You're right, I'll think about it. I wasn't trying to keep it from you. It's just that I miss who we all used to be."

I stand up and adjust my bag on my shoulders. "We were naive, Bee. All of us had some serious growing up to do." It's hard to believe that this all happened more than a year ago. Now we still have growing up to do, we're just not as naive anymore. I check the time and realize I'm late for tutoring. "Do you still want to come with me to intern? I can check that book out for you."

"Sure." After we go up to the front and get the book, we head to Sam's. "I hope he's not mad at you for being late." She tells me.

I shake my head, "It's only for a few minutes. Besides he hasn't answered my email on whether or not we have anyone scheduled for today. We might be done for the day if not." Thankfully, his class isn't far away from the library. I open the door for Becca and I mindlessly start talking, "Hey Sam sorry I'm late I- Oh my God!" I watch as Katherine shrieks and hides behind his desk, half naked.

"Livia I can explain." Sam hurries to button his pants. His breathing is erratic and his hair a mess.

Katherine gets her shirt on and stands up. "Don't bother Sammy. She won't say anything." She eyes me, as if she has something to prove. Maybe that she has all of the power in this situation.

"Wait don't I know you?" Bee questions, pointing a finger at my frenemy. All eyes turn to Katherine. "I do! You were Mr. Morgan's date to the New Year's party. What? Do you get your rocks off sleeping with teachers?"

I grab Becca's shoulder, "Leave her alone Bee. It's not worth it."

Sam looks between the both of us. "Hold on, Shawn Morgan? You've slept with him too?" He looks disgusted.

I step back and leave the classroom. Becca follows after me. "Are we really not going to say anything?"

"No. It's not worth it." I repeat.

"If she's a student here then it is. He's a teacher." It's strange to think that just a couple of hours ago she was telling me I should sleep with mine. I guess that means she wasn't serious. Becca stops and turns me to face her. "How old is she?"

    "Nineteen or Twenty."
She starts putting some of the pieces together. "Wait then how did she know Mr. Morgan?"

I don't know what to say. "It doesn't matter Bee let's just go back to my dorm and forget this ever happened."

Her shock is evident but I don't know how else I can deflect her questions. "You know about her and Morgan don't you?"

Becca's eyes are insinuating but her instincts are right. I know all about what really happened between Shawn Morgan and Katherine Dyer. It's not a pretty story. "Look it's complicated I-"

"Tell me." Becca demands. "Who are you protecting...?"

My eyes look past Bee to see Shawn's classroom that is in the same hallway as Sam's. I'm protecting him. "Becca please, just drop it."

I plead with her but to no avail. "Not until you tell me what you know."

I've run out of options. So I lean in and quietly whisper, "Fine just not here okay?"

"Okay."

The second we get back to the dorm Bee tells me to spill. I take a seat on my bed and run my fingers through my hair. This isn't my story to tell, yet if I don't I'm afraid it'll make things worse. Becca will report Katherine and Sam and in retaliation, Shawn and I will be outed as well. "Before Mr. Morgan went to teach at Brookview, he was at her school. She was a senior and eighteen. Katherine hit on him a lot and he tutored her at her house. Eventually she made a move and he didn't stop her. They had a fling for a while and then it was over."

"What about the ball? Why was she his date if they broke things off?" Unfortunately, my friend doesn't miss anything.

"She has a son. For a while there she thought it was Mr. Morgan's. She got a DNA test and promised to tell him the results as long as he took her as his date. It's not his." I add that last part as if it makes the situation any better.

Becca's eyes draw together in confusion. "How do you know all of this?" There it is, the million dollar question and the one thing I can't answer truthfully.

So what do I say? "He told me. Because while I was staying after school she just showed up one day. Just like you I asked questions."

"None of this makes any sense." She decides.

I take her hand and look into her eyes. "I told you the truth so please just drop it now."

"You always do this."

"What?"

"Hide things from me."
