I wake up to the feeling of tapping on my face. "Jasper no!" I open my eyes to a fluffy dog tapping my nose with his paw. "Sorry, that means he likes you."

"Layla?" The memory of last night floods my brain. I had a few shots and then Katie told me she was going home with Jack.

Layla asked if I wanted to stay at her place. "You fell asleep pretty soon after you changed." I look down at my clothes, I'm wearing a white tank top that looks cropped on me because we are not the same size. The shorts fit but are very short. "You can keep those clothes, you fill them out more than me anyway. I wasn't expecting someone to look better in my clothes than me."

I look around the room, it's absolutely huge. With expensive stuff everywhere, I'm afraid to touch anything in case I break it. "Um, where is my dress?"

"Ty is getting it dry cleaned. He should be back any minute. Come on." She grabs my hand and pulls me out of bed. We go down the stairs where she presses a few buttons on a very nice coffee maker. "Latte?" She asks.

I pull my phone out and quickly text Katie to see if she's doing okay. I don't miss that Shawn still hasn't responded to any of my messages. I'll have to go by today and talk to him. "Thanks." I say as I take the cup that Layla offers me. I neve expected for any of this to happen but I'm glad it did. "You and your brother are very nice."

She laughs, short and curt. "Did you think just because we have money we're terrible?" When I don't respond she looks down at her coffee. "I know we're very weird and blunt. Back before we were loaded we went through a lot. We made a pact that when our inheritance came in we wouldn't turn into the cliche rich people."

"I guess I was pretty prejudiced about it. I'm sorry." I'm from a small town in Colorado, I can't even fathom the amount of money these people have. It's a little intimidating.

She shrugs, "Don't be, I get it. You should ease up on Jack too. He's had it rough just like the rest of us. His dad died in a fire and he remembers it eighteen years later, that has to be rough."

"Layla!" Ty calls as he walks in. She covers her mouth, as if she could take back what she just said. "That was not your place to tell anyone." He sets my dry cleaned dress on the table and walks over to the stool beside me.

Layla shakes her head, "I know, I'm sorry."

Ty gets close, looking at me exactly how he did last night. "What did I tell you? Gossip." He smiles and moves my hair behind my ear. "How did you sleep?"

"Um, good thank you."

"Great, now she's flustered. Don't worry Livia, the more time you spend with him the quicker it'll pass." I look away from the both of them and drink my coffee.

I didn't even have time to process what she just told me about Jack. How many fires happen in New York? "Oh, that reminds me." Ty says walking out of the room and returning with a white box. "This is for you."

I hesitantly take it from his hands and open in. "They're shoes." Very expensive and very name brand sneakers to be accurate. "Ty thank you but I can't accept this." I hand the box back to him. It's a very sweet gesture because all I had were the heels that I complained about.

He looks sadly at me, "I don't understand."

Layla grins, "She doesn't want your gift."

"No, no it's not that it's..it's too much."

Ty sets the box down and grabs my shoulders, "They're shoes."

"Yes."

"I'm a multimillionaire."

I nod, "Yes."

"And you're not accepting the shoes as a gift?"

I smile awkwardly, "No."

He drops his arms to his side and shakes his head, "Unbelievable. Livia, you are unbelievable." Ty tells me in amusement.

"I'm sorry but in the past twenty-four hours, I've had some kind of pretty woman makeover. I've met two of the most wonderful people, and they let me sleep in their massive house, wear their expensive clothes that I've most definitely stretched out, and they dry cleaned my dress, made me a latte, and bought me way out of my price range shoes." I take a second to breathe. "You two are amazing, everything is amazing, but I can't accept anymore things."

"I think you broke her, Ty."

Ty takes the shoes and hands them to me, "Did you ever think we're being so nice because we like you?" They've known me less than a day and they like me?

I guess it's not so crazy since, "I like you guys too."

Ty hands me back the box, "Then take the shoes, please." He gives me a look that says I don't have a choice.

So I grab the box and take the shoes out, slipping them on. "These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn in my life." I admit.

"Good, they're yours and I'll find you some clothes that you can actually be seen in public in." He takes my hand and leads me back upstairs.

His room is dark from the curtains being closed but the light draws in to show his king sized bed and desk area. His bedroom is twice the size of my dorm. "You know, you're probably the only women who's seen my room in the daylight and didn't have sex with me first." I laugh. "Except for Layla but she doesn't count." He winks at me and squeezes my hand bringing me to his huge walk in closet. This is the size of my dorm. He has me take a seat on his bench while he searches his closet for clothes. He decides on a blue collar shirt and gray joggers. "This will be big on you but it's better than my sisters clothes."

I take them from me while he turns around so I can change. "I really can't thank you enough for everything." I finish changing and let him know he can turn around.

When he does, he leans in and fixes my collar. "Most girls don't thank me either. Well, not for the gifts anyway." He's a natural flirt, that's for sure.

"I should get going, I have a relationship to complicate even more." I don't even know if Shawn wants a relationship with me anymore.

I wouldn't exactly blame him but I can't give up that easily. "Is he still your teacher?"

I nod, "He went from being my teacher in Colorado to my professor in New York."

Ty's eyebrows raise in surprise. "Wow, that's commitment."

"Wait, it is?"

"Oh yeah, he followed you across the country. Even though he has to lie about being with you. Although it is a shame he has to hide you." Funny, I always thought the same about him. I hate lying to my friends, family, and anyone within a ten mile radius of the school.

If I think about it, he accepted the job from New York after knowing I've always wanted to go there. Maybe he did this for me, and I was too blind to see that. "Ty, I've had a revelation and now I need to go talk to him."

"Say no more, I'll take you now."

After I say goodbye to Ty, I rush to Shawn's apartment and let myself in. "Shawn!"

I run upstairs to look in his office, he's sitting at his desk with papers all around him. The white light from his computer shines brightly on his face. "Livia? Are those men's clothes?"

I walk in further, "No, well yes, but it's not what you think. Listen I-"

"Did you stay at a guys house last night?"

God, maybe I didn't think this through. "Not exactly. Look, it's a really long story but I wanted to tell you something."

He walks up to me, his face stoic and breathing heavy. "Did you cheat on me last night?"

"I-what? Shawn, I would never do that to you!"

His hands go up in the air, "You did it to Dean!" Shawn yells back.

I take a step back, "Is that what you think of me?"

Shawn sighs, "No, I'm sorry."

Regardless of his apology, tears start to fall down my face. I wipe them away but he sees them. "I was just coming to tell you that I think we should tell people. Now I just want to be left alone."

"Livia, wait." I walk out, he catches up to me and turns me around.

"No!" I yell. "You won't talk to me! You know everything about me but you won't talk to me. You can't ask me to move in with you and risk both of our careers and then freak out on me when I'm trying to be smart about it."

Shawn rubs the back of his neck, looking anywhere but me. "I can't talk about it, Livia. You make all of my pain and all of my past go away. So I asked you to stay here with me and you shot me down. Then you show back up here with some other guy's clothes on." I look down at my clothes and then look back up at him. Without saying a word I grab his arm and lead him to the bathroom. "What are you...?"

I press my finger against his lips to shush him. He stares at me, watching my hands fumble over my buttons and undo each one. I move it off of my shoulders and let it slide to the floor. My bra is the next to go, I undo it and take that off too. Then I untie the jaw string of the joggers, all while watching his reaction. I pull it down and step out of it but not before my shoes and socks. I'm down to my panties, but it only takes me a few seconds to take them off too. Completely bare in front of him, I walk over and turn the shower on. "I'm sorry that I showed up in mens clothes but I will tell you everything." I open the shower curtain and get inside. The water hits me, running down my whole body. "You need to talk to me too. Because the way that you felt when I walked into your office, is how I felt when I saw you scared on the bathroom floor. I make assumptions and lose the bigger picture."

"What's the bigger picture?" He asks.

"That we're in love with each other." I hold out my hand for him. "Come in here, so I can show you how much I love you."

Shawn stares at my hand. Meanwhile my heart is beating so fast, I've never done anything like this before.

Thankfully, he takes off his clothes and grabs my hand.
