Wednesday, June 9th...

We hold hands on the plane but don't make much small talk. He doesn't seem nervous, then again why should he be? Ty is always so calm and collected, meeting my friends and family should be nothing.

When we land he lets go of me but stays close to me. I wait until we're on our way to my parents house to speak. "Have you ever been to Colorado?" I ask, needing to break the silence.

He looks away from the window, to me. "Colorado yes, Brookview, no." I nod and keep my eyes on the road. "Your parents designed the wedding, right?"

I laugh, "They design almost everything in town, so yeah. Pro bono too, since Jenny and Jake are some of my closest friends."

"I'm excited to meet them." I am too. For once I won't have to hide my boyfriend from anyone. Ty's here, out in the open and ready to meet my closest family and friends. He's in his early twenties and runs charities and a bar back in New York. He's handsome and kind, he's any parents dream boyfriend for their daughter. As for my friends, I've already told them about Ty. Jenny invited him but made it clear she was still rooting for Shawn. It doesn't make a difference, Shawn and I have been over for months. "You're nervous." Ty says to me as we get closer to my parents house.

    Bingo. "Maybe a little bit."

Ty smirks, "Don't be Livia, parents love me."

Playfully, I reply, "Oh really? How many parents have you had to meet?"

"Only a few, and they loved me." He reiterates.

I pull into the driveway after that, a tad bit calmer than a moment ago. My parents are already outside waiting for us. I step out of the car and go up to hug them.

"Hi, honey!" Mom shouts in my ear. She pats my back twice before letting me go.

I hug my dad next before remembering Ty is right behind me. "Oh! Uh, this is Ty. Ty this is my mom, Olivia."

My mom smiles at him and hugs him. "It's so good to finally meet you!"

Ty doesn't falter for a second, "The pleasure is mine, Olivia."

Mom giggles like a girl and waves him off. I move on to my father, "This is my dad-"

Dad holds his hand out immediately to introduce himself, "Danny." They shake hands quickly.

"Why don't we get your bags inside so you can settle in before lunch?"

Ty goes back to the car with my dad to get our bags while I talk to my mom, "Actually we can't stay for lunch. I promised Jenny I would head over to catch up before the wedding tomorrow." Not to mention I'm the co-maid of honor and I haven't been able to help her until today.

"Oh." Mom replies sardonically. "Fine." She decides.

I kiss her cheek, "We'll be back for dinner, I promise."

After we get the bags inside, Ty and I leave again to Jenny's house.

The drive is short and uneventful, but the second we pull up to Jenny's she's already outside waiting for me. I rush out of the car and run up to her, forgetting all about my boyfriend and my car. "Jenny!" I scream as we hug each other. She still smells like her cotton candy perfume.

"So I guess I'm not here." Bee says, walking up to the two of us.

I let go of Jenny to embrace my other friend. We were all able to hang out more the last time I came down. For once I didn't have a boyfriend to stop me or a secret double life to keep up with. "We missed you." She says as we pull away. Her eyes dart behind me, "And who is this?"

Ty meets us and waves at my friends. "This is Ty, he's my boyfriend."

He smiles his beautiful smile at them. They seem memorized just like my parents. I've come to understand that he has that effect on people. "You must be Jenny-" He points to Jenny and then Bee, "-and you must be-"

"Becca, hi. You can call me Bee. All of my friends call me Bee anyway." She giggles before snapping herself out of whatever trance Ty put her in. I almost laugh too, she's never acted this way around a guy before.

    "Alright then." Ty says.

Jenny snatches my hand to guide me, "Come on let's get upstairs, we still have so much to do."

Jake and Luke are sitting on the couch when we walk in. The second I see Noelle in his arms I rush over to her. "Hi beautiful!" I coo. She smiles and lifts her arms so that I can take her. Becca and I baby sat her on the weekends so Jake and Jenny could go out and have fun.

Jake sighs in relief, "Thanks, my arm fell asleep fifteen minutes ago."

Luke sets down the napkins he's been attempting to fold. "Hey, how are you?"

"I'm good, you?" I lean in to whisper. "Any luck with Becca?"

"I heard that." Bee reveals as she walks into the living room with Ty and Jenny not far behind. She points to my boyfriend. "This is Ty, Ty this is Jake and Luke."

Before anyone can say anything, Jenny interrupts, "Why don't you stay in here and chat while I show Livia my wedding dress?"

Her excitement is contagious and I find myself wanting to follow her. "Are you going to be okay out here?" I whisper to Ty.

Ty nods confidently, "Don't worry about me."

With his confirmation, I adjust Noelle and walk to Jenny's room. "Sorry about the mess." She apologizes as she moves pieces of fabric out of the way. "I've been working on this dress nonstop, I want it to be perfect."

Because her design studio is her bedroom, this means Jake has seen her dress. Ever since Jenny's pregnancy and she moved in with Jake, she did away with her superstitions and religious habits.

I focus on the detail in her dress. It's sleeveless, with a lace trim around the whole dress. "Underneath is silk." She informs me as the three of us admire the mannequin wearing Jenny's dress.

"I can't believe you're getting married in less than three days." I say as I sit on her bed.

Jenny looks down and smiles, I can practically see the excitement bursting out of her. "I know! I love him so much!"

"Hey! Remember when you two met and he kept following you around everywhere?" We all laugh at the memory. That was so long ago, it feels like decades instead of a few years. We were all so immature and wanted to hang with the boys. "He kissed the ground you walked on." Bee adds.

"Still does." Jenny smirks. "Anyway, I have something to tell you, Livia. Please don't be mad at me but I invited Shawn to the wedding."

I pause, thinking about him being there with us. With me and Ty. "Oh." Is all I can think of to reply. My dreams lately have been all about him. I can't get him out of my head but at least I haven't been face to face with him. At least we haven't had to talk to each other. Now I'll have to be polite, make nice, and pretend that Ty's the one I want by my side.

"I know, okay? Bad move on my part. But in my defense-" She raises her hands in mock surrender. "-It was Bee's idea."

I turn my attention to my other friend. "Sorry but he's a good person and he's always been wonderful to us. To you too." How could I ever forget?

"Guys it's okay. I've moved on."

"You have?" Both Becca and Jenny ask in unison.

Jenny says, "Ty seems like a catch but he's not for you. You don't look at him the way you looked at Shawn." I didn't realize there was a difference. "You can lie to yourself all you want but I know you. Shawn is your Jake."

No, he's not. "We tried and things only get more complicated when we're together. I'm not with him anymore."

"I just feel like you two went through all of that for nothing. No offense to Ty but...I don't know it's not who I pictured you with."

I sigh and open my mouth to speak but come up with nothing. I left Shawn because he was getting Matthew and I didn't think I was ready. I had just lost a baby. I needed time. So I ran to Brookview and got my shit together long enough to be able to go to New York. That's where my life is now.

I don't tell them that I've been thinking about Shawn nonstop. That he runs through my head while I'm awake and asleep. That I look at Ty and wish it was Shawn. That I miss the complicated because it meant I got to be with him.

Jenny stands up and begins playing with the fabric of her wedding dress. Meanwhile, Noelle falls asleep in my arms. I steer the conversation off of me. "What about you Becca? What's up with you and Luke?"

            Becca snorts, "Nothing."

"They're hooking up." Jenny spills.

My mouth opens wide at the news. "Really?" I laugh shortly, "It sounds scandalous, tell me more."

Becca swats at me but misses in order to keep Noelle out of it. "It's nothing!" Bee swears but the smile on her face tells me otherwise. "We still want different things, it changes nothing." Her smile fades slowly into a grimace.

"Hey, Becca, it's okay." Tears well up in her eyes, daring to spill over.

I've only seen Bee cry a handful of times in our friendship. In all of those times, not once was it because of a boy. "She loves him." Jenny reminds me. This is what love does to people.

Bee sniffles and straightens up. "I'm fine. This isn't about me, Jenny, you're getting married!"

Jenny scoffs. "Exactly, which is why the last three months have been all about me. You're allowed to vent to us."

"Yeah, that's why I'm here." I add. I know since last year I haven't exactly been there for them as much as I should've been. I was so caught up in myself and my life that I stayed out of theirs. But they're my best friends, and I love and appreciate them.

As for Shawn, I need to figure my feelings for him out. My feelings for Ty haven't grown like I thought they would. He's sweet and stunning but my feelings for Shawn spread like a wildfire. One that's still burning. Who am I to try and put it out?

I just wish I knew someone who I could talk to. Someone who's been through something similar and could just tell me how I feel. "Here, will you take her please?" I hand Noelle off to Becca, eager with open arms. Once she settles, I jump up. "Alright. Where's this dress I've been hearing so much about?"

Jenny goes over to her closet and pulls out two dresses. They're royal blue and long, but that's as much as I can tell. She sets them on the rack in the corner. Her hand reaches the zipper and pulls it down. The dress is revealed from the garment bag it was inside. "I bought these things from Amazon." Jenny tells us. She gestures, shows the dresses off with her hands.

Then she pulls one off the rack to show the both of us. It all looks very presentational. "Jenny, this is my color." Bee says in astonishing manor. Becca always has this way about her with royal blue. Buying the clothing in bulk wherever she can find it.

Jenny widens her eyes and nods at Bee. "I know!" She brings the dress to us to feel. "And it's sandwashed, silk, charmeuse."

It's smooth, I love the way it feels on my fingertips. "I totally want to try on mine first." Jenny hands the dress to me. I begin to get undressed and slip the dress on. Bee zips me up and straightens the dress out for me. Once she's finished, I move to Jenny's full mirror. "Wow." I run my hands down my sides and think about how talented my best friend is. She could sell this dress and a million more just like it.

Jenny pulls at the fabric, examining her work. "I could tighten it if you want me too." She places her hand up to her chin as she thinks, "What do you think?"

Bee chimes in, "I think it's my turn." She grabs the second dress on the rack and tries it on. The first thing that poops in my head is that she's right, royal blue is her color. Bee joins me in front of the mirror, I step aside to give her more space. The two of us with Jenny in her wedding dress, will look spectacular. Jenny couldn't have one upped this if she wanted to. "It doesn't scratch my skin or anything. I can barely tell it's on."

Jenny reels in her accomplishments. "I'm so glad you love it." After a few moments her face stills and she says in a serious tone, "Now take it off. It can't get wrinkled before the wedding." We listen to her and change back into our regular clothes.

Noelle begins to cry so Jenny picks her up off of the bed. "She hates waking up from her naps."
"Don't we all?" Becca asks rhetorically. "It's cool though. I have to get going anyway."

Jenny picks up her dress and puts it back inside the garment bag. "Here, take this with you. We can finish the gift bags tomorrow before the bachelorette party."

Bee takes it and kisses Jenny on the cheek. She says goodbye to Noelle and hugs me. "I'm glad you're here." She whispers in my ear.

When it's just the two and half of us, Jake walks into his bedroom. "I heard her crying." He explains to Jenny. Jenny hands Noelle over to him. Jake nods at me then leaves to give Noelle whatever she needs. Jenny puts my dress back and hands it to me.

"Your parents must be dying to see you so go ahead." I'm sure she's right so I'll take it from her.

We hug goodbye, "I'll be back tomorrow. Bright and early to help with whatever you need."
