"Mark where are you going?" Derek asked his best friend, who looked distraught and in a hurry to leave.

He watched Mark toss his blue gown inside the bin and when he looked at him, Mark's eyes were filled with worry — that something bad might've happened to Savannah. "I can't just stay here and wait, Derek. I have to go see if she's okay."

"The ambulance left twenty minutes ago. They could be on their way back."

"I don't care Derek, I have to go." Derek knew there was no way he could convince Mark to stay. If it was Meredith, he would've left running to her too.

          "Go."

Mark ran to his car, in a hurry to get to her. He needed to see her soon, because his heart and mind won't give him any answers. His thoughts were flooded with the worst case scenarios. Was she okay? Hurt?  Was she bleeding? Unconscious? It just made him feel more heavy.

A few moments of driving and his phone rang. It was Derek who was calling.

"Ambulance just came in. She's here. She's —"

          "I'm coming."

Mark slammed the breaks and turned the car around. When he made it to Seattle Grace, he quickly parked and rushed through the doors of the ER. Heart racing, he looked around the crowd, wanting to see her, needing to se her. And after a few more seconds his eyes locked on the brunette standing on the side of the hallway, talking to Owen.

Mark let out a deep breath of relief. Just seeing her standing up and breathing assured him that she was fine. He couldn't really assess what came into him when he found out that there was an accident, how he rushed out and left while he was still on the job. She wasn't his girl, but even then, he cared so much for her and wouldn't want to see her get hurt.

He pushed his way through the crowd in the ER, his eyes only set on the girl that isn't his. The girl he couldn't take his mind off. He saw Owen wall away, leaving Savannah.

"Dr. Sloan, we need you in OR 2." He heard Linda talking to him as he walked past her but he couldn't answer. Not at this moment. "Dr. Sloan!"

Mark kept walking until he was close enough to touch her. He grabbed her wrist lightly, not wanting to hurt her in case. "Everything okay? Are you hurt?" He asked softly as he examined her, not looking at her face just yet. When he met her brown eyes, she was already looking at him.

"I'm okay." Savannah answered, her cheeks burning red. Mark felt warmth when he finally heard her voice.  "Another car got in an accident and hit us, but I'm—"

"You're bleeding." Mark ran his finger on the patch on her forehead.

"Dr. Sloan." Linda stood behind him, holding a chart. "I'm so sorry to interrupt but they really need you in OR 2." Mark looked at the nurse and then at Savannah.

"They need you. Go I'm okay." Savannah let out a soft smile. Mark was still worried but this was his job and he had to go.

"Go. I'll fix her up." Derek who was finishing up a chart on the other side of the hallway, told him.

"Thanks man." Mark gave him a pat on the shoulder and turned to Savannah one last time before following Linda to the operating room.

"You had all of us worried back here." Derek told Savannah while he put on some medical gloves on his hands. He removed the patch on her forehead and started to disinfect the wound.

"I just hope everyone's okay. Especially the baby." She told him, before wincing when she felt the needle poked through her skin.

It had been a crazy night. Her mind was stuck on the baby, on the patients from the car, and on Mark — and the look on his face when he grabbed her before. His eyes were so soft and full of emotions.

It was a look that made her stomach flutter. A look, enough for her to think and question what she was feeling for him all over again. Its been like this for weeks. She was fighting with herself.

She was fighting with her heart.

Maybe the reason that there wasn't a chance for this was because this — Her and Mark, never really would've worked out.

She felt stupid whenever she thought of that, the idea of her and Mark, they're not even dating, yet somehow he's made his way in her heart. Everything about him. She knew it. She felt it.

She just doesn't know if she should believe it.

Is it really okay? Has it been long enough since you, Luke. Will it be okay if I open my heart again? Will it be selfish if I do? Luke, please tell me what to do.

"Mark ran out after the call died. He was really worried about you." Derek told her and she felt her heart drop to the ground.

"What?" Savannah met Derek's eyes. She couldn't believe it. She didn't deserve him.

This was all too much, all too fast for her.

After his shift, Mark went to find Savannah and got told by Linda that she had just left. He was her walking at the parking lot. "Savannah! You can't drive home like this!"

"Mark, just go. I told you I'm fine! Please!" Savannah kept on walking. She needed to go. He was great guy, and a great guy like him shouldn't be with a girl who's broken in pieces like her.

"I like you!" The words stopped Savannah from her tracks.

"What!? You can't just say it like that! Not when —"

"I like you." He knew at that moment he didn't just like her, but something in him knew that the other three words would have to wait. "You heard me. I like you. I'm sorry we missed the chance. It's on me, Savannah. God, we could've skipped all this part if I didn't mess up. I'm sorry I didn't get to tell you then, but I'm telling you now. I like you and I just thought that you should know. And I guess it's okay if you don't feel the same way for now."

          She did. She did.

"but you can't drive home like this. Please just let me take you home." Mark said in a soft tone, but noticed that there were tears falling from Savannah's eyes.

          "Savannah, why are you crying?"

"You ran out to make sure I was okay." She muttered, avoiding Mark's eyes. It wasn't a question. She had acknowledged the fact that Mark left to come to her. To see her.

"It wasn't something I had to think twice of. That was the only thing on my mind, Savannah. I just needed to get to you at that moment."

          "You can't." Her voice trembled.

          "What do you mean?"

"You can't drive me home Mark."

"Why not?" He grabbed her arm.

          "Because of my stomach!"

"Does it hurt? Do I need to bring you back inside?"

"No. You can't drive me home because you deserve so much better than me. Because I'm all messed up. I'm here running away from what I'm feeling for you,"

"You're feeling for me?" Mark searched her face. Was she really feeling it too?

"Because I'm so scared to admit it. But I feel it. And I know what it means. And I want to believe it." He smiled. She could see his eyes twinkling. "And you're looking at me like that, like I'm some mental person."

"What is it Savannah?" He asked her, while he let his eyes travel to her lips. She was talking too much and he loved it. She was slowly opening up to him, and he couldn't help but stare.

"Stop looking at me like that! You're all so smug again. You were sweet just then!"

"I was sweet?" He asked in amusement, teasing her.

He looked at her lips again. Her lips were full and they seemed soft.

"Mark! Stop teasing!" Savannah glared at him, but even she wanted to laugh. This was ridiculous. How could he do this? Just change the mood and make everything feel okay.

Mark chuckled and Savannah shook her head, turning away from him with a smirk.  "You know what, you can't drive me home." She said.

          He wanted to kiss her.

"Why not!?" He asked, holding in his laugh as he followed her, with her back turned away from him.

"Because if you drive me home, I'll be sitting next to you and my stomach would flutter again." Savannah muttered under her breath.

"What? I can't hear what you're saying." Mark teased, and out of nowhere, Savannah said the words out loud.

"I said, because if you drive me home, I'll be sitting next to you and my stomach would flutter again. And Alex says its because I like you!" She stopped and she turned around, surprised that Mark was standing so close to her.

"And I do!" She didn't want to look at his eyes, so she rested her forehead on his chest.

"Damn it, I do." She continued softly. Admitting it once again, not just for Mark, but for herself too. Believe it.

Tears were falling from her eyes as she  let out another breath and continued, "And I'm so scared of this but I do. Okay. So you can't —" Mark didn't let her finish. It was enough for him to hear. She had let him in. He took her face in his hands and he kissed her.

Her lips were soft, and light, and sweet. It felt too good to be holding her. He could get lost in her, and he did. He kissed her softly until she let out a soft breath and kissed him back.

Whatever happened to her, whatever it was that broke her in the past, she was finally moving forward from it.

She had finally let herself feel.

Oh a million faces pass my way.
Oh they're all the same, nothing seems to change anytime I look around.
Oh who knows just what the future holds
All I want to know is if it's with you.

GUYS! OMYGOODNESS! 💛 I don't even know what to say here, I am so overwhelmed and I can't believe that chapter twelve is up. It took a while for us to get here and I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who patiently waited for me to update Begin Again. Just as I said before, I won't let this story go unfinished.

I HAVE MISSED ALL OF YOU!

And, ughhhh they finally kissed! 😭

What is it with Mark and Savannah in a parking lot?? Haha.

What did you guys think of this chapter?
Honestly it was a bit hard to write Savannah. Our girl is dealing with a lot, but she has a great guy on her side.

Also, it's been a year since I was here and Wattpad has changed so much, how did you guys feel about it? It just feels so different now. A little bit complicated to navigate on. Let me know your thoughts

I hope you're all doing well!
A bit late, but Happy 2020 to you guys! 💕✨

Til' the next one. xx

With all the love,

An update, 5 months later:
July 29, 2020

Hello everyone! It's been a long time, I know I've been so terrible with the updates, but this year has been such a mess to me that Wattpad wasn't a priority to me. I'm SO SO sorry about that. I read your beautiful comments every time I check the app, and they bring me such great joy! Thank you so much for loving this book! Since I cannot reply to all of your comments, I thought this might be much better. 🥺✨
I will update eventually, but for now I am unfortunately stuck with how I want to write this story further. I do have plans for Savannah and Mark! I have planned the whole book, but just can't seem to start writing again.
Took a bit of break but will definitely be back! I'm just taking care of myself and taking this year one day at a time. Again, I love you!
Thank you so much for your patience. 💛
I know I haven't been at all consistent.
Thank you.

I did write a one shot story today. I just published it. If you would like to check that, it's in my account, titled 'Until Her'.

Also, I can't believe we are at 87k reads. 😭
I love you all.
