Chapter 21: I hate him

Tana watched Jungkook walk away, she sighed and went inside Taehyung's unit.

“Good afternoon, bear, do you want some fruits?” Tana asked her son, who is still feeling weak because of the incident.

“Is that person Jungkook? What was he doing here?” Taehyung inquired about her because he saw Jungkook.

He can't be wrong, he was sure that person earlier standing outside his unit was Jungkook.

“Uh, yeah, why did you ask?” Tana responded, looking at him.

“Nothing, I told you, Eomma, I don't want anyone to come here.” Taehyung told her.

“He's just concerned about you.” Tana said.

“I don't care, I would rather not see him.” Taehyung replied with a hint of annoyance in his tone.

“Why are you being like this to him? What did he do to you?” Tana asked him.

“Nothing” Taehyung avoided the question.

“If it's nothing, why are you mad, then?” Tana inquired.

She can tell that there's something between them. Taehyung was never like this.

“He's the reason I got beaten up! If he didn't come into my life, this won't happen to me! I should have been living peacefully, but every time he's with me, my life is hell!” Taehyung yelled out of nowhere.

“He said he is sorry about it.” Tana uttered.

“I don't need his apologies! If he didn't force me to do something I don't want, I wouldn't end up with him! He always put me in danger! I asked him to get away from me, but he didn't listen!” Taehyung retorted, gritting his teeth.

“You are pushing him away without telling him the reason. Of course, he won't do that unless he knows why you don't want to be with him. He'll be suspicious why you want to push him away.” Tana defended Jungkook.

“He shouldn't mind it at all, he doesn't need to know the reason! He doesn't like me, pushing him away should be okay with him! He despises me, bullied me, embarrassed me, and make fun of me. Now, he's still the reason I almost get died.” Taehyung shot back.

“He doesn't despise you, Taehyung. Jungkook genuinely li—”

“I would rather not hear his name anymore. Please, Eomma, stop mentioning him, I hate him so much.” Taehyung didn't let his mother finish his sentence and cried.

“Fine, if that's what you want, I won't mention him.” Tana just sighed, knowing she can't change her son's mind.

Taehyung's tears fell from his eyes, not knowing why he is being emotional. He wiped off his tears and shook his head.

Meanwhile

Jungkook is in the club, drinking his pain away. He is already wasted, but he still goes on drinking.

“Jungkook, you should calm down.” Jimin told him.

Jungkook slammed down the glass on the table. Jimin was quite surprised, he is sitting in front of Jungkook.

“He… he is leaving, Hyung, he's going to leave me.” Jungkook uttered while sobbing.

“Who's leaving, Jungkook?” Jimin asked confusedly.

He is sober, unlike Jungkook, who is obviously drunk right now.

“Taehyung” Jungkook cried.

“Oh, right, I heard that from dad. He told me that they were going to leave this country for Taehyung's treatment. So, what is it to you if they leave? What are you crying for?" Jimin inquired.

“I-I don't want him to leave Hyung, I want him to stay here.” Jungkook admitted with his tears kept falling from his eyes.

“You can't do anything about it, Jungkook. It's their decision, you can't force them to stay here because their memories in this place are worse.” Jimin retorted, shaking his head.

“But I haven't confessed to him, Hyung. I would like to mention that I like him, I admire him for so long.” Jungkook looked at him with teary eyes.

Jimin knew that Jungkook is being genuine in his words right now. His eyes tell everything and mostly, drunk Jungkook is an honest person.

“It's because of your stupid brain, you should confess to him before this shit happens.” Jimin replied mockingly.

“How can I do that if I know that he will reject me? I'm not you, Hyung, he won't like me like how he admired you.” Jungkook uttered and sobbed.

“What are you talking about, Jungkook?” Jimin is clueless about what he was saying.

“Taehyung likes you, he will reject me because we're not the same person. How will he like me if I'm not the person he likes? I wish I can be you so at least he can like me too.” Jungkook cried.

He felt jealous and insecure that the fact that he is not Jimin. He's not the person that Taehyung will ever like. If he's Jimin, will Taehyung like him? Does he have to be Jimin so the person he likes will look the same as Taehyung looks at Jimin?

“Seriously, you, Jeon Jungkook, feeling insecure right now?” Jimin felt unbelievable witnessing this version of Jungkook.

Jeon Jungkook, the most loved person getting insecure about someone, is not what Jimin expected at all.

“I mean, I am more handsome than you and I understand why Taehyung likes me but you, Jungkook getting jealous of me is surprising. Did you know how many people are simping to you? And you're worried that Taehyung will reject you.

You don't need to be me for Taehyung to like you. You just have to be yourself because there are plenty of people who like you. And of course, be kind to him. Making fun of him to get his attention is not a good move, Jungkook.” Jimin explained to him.

“But he doesn't pay any attention to me. He doesn't even notice that I like him. He hates me so much that he sees me as an enemy. Not only that, but he always avoids me, he's so scared of me. That's the only way I can do to be with him.” Jungkook replied, fidgeting with his fingers.

Jimin stood up from his seat and sat down beside Jungkook. He put his hand over Jungkook's shoulder to comfort him.

“Jungkook, bro, everything will be okay for you and Taehyung. I understand your feelings for Taehyung, but if Taehyung doesn't like you, you should accept it. There is a person that will be destined for you.

If it's necessary, you should move on and start your new life too. I'm sure you will find someone who will like you for being you. Don't just focus on Taehyung, okay? You will learn how to move on soon.”

Jimin patted his shoulder and Jungkook let out a sigh. Should he move on and let go of his feelings for Taehyung? Maybe that's a good idea, isn't it?
