As soon as I saw her walk through that door I knew I was screwed. Though she was easily one of the most beautiful girls I had ever seen I knew I couldn't let her into my wreck of a life.

Her gorgeous brunette hair tumbled down on her shoulders wild and untamed. Her green eyes flashed with annoyance when they met mine. 

I scowled and then returned back to my original smirk which I assumed looked better on me. Judging by her expression when she flopped down next to me she wasn't too pleased either about the whole lunch incident.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Incoming message from Jay.

Jay: Apologize.

Jay: BRO C'MON

Jay: SWALLOW UP THAT GODDAMN GIGANTIC HUMONGOUS PRIDE OF YOUR'S AND SAY SORRY. YOU WERE A JERK TO THE POOR GIRL! FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON, I MEAN YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HER!

 Me: Ugh fine! Do you really have to be this annoying?

Jay: I'm your older brother you have to listen to me! 

Me: STFU!

So I turned my gaze to the little cupcake at my right. She was staring intently at the board ignoring my presence completely. 

Must be harder than it looks. 

I poked her with my pencil on her arm to get her attention. She didn't even flinch. I then grabbed her arm and shook it violently. 

"What? What could you possibly want from me?!" She furiously whispered. I smirked.

"I'm sorry cupcake!" She softened under my tone and apology, flashing me a nervous smile.

She held her extremely petite hand out to me. 

"Let's start over, yeah? I'm Valeria Grace." I tried my best to smile before shaking her hand.

"Kayden Jackson." I nodded at her. She gave me one of those bright beautiful smiles of hers and turned her attention back to the board.

That's when Mr. I don't know his name but he looks annoying, started talking. 

"Ms. Grace and Mr. Jackson, since you both seem to be getting so comfortable with each other you can sit together for the rest of the year and be each other's lab and project partners. I hope Ms. Grace is aware of Mr. Jackson's tendency of skipping class. Hope you enjoy!" He sneered. I kid you not this man sneered at me. 

Valeria's eyes widened as she turned to me with a silent question. I smirked at her before turning my attention to Mr. Beady eyes. Giving him one of my most promising smiles.

"Well, Mr. Whatever your name is. I am pleased to inform you that I most certainly will be attending class everyday this year. because I just love chemistry so much." I said sarcastically before walking out as soon as the bell rang.

 Before I left I heard Valeria's quiet giggles at my performance. I turned and winked at her before leaving the classroom and avoiding Mr. Annoying's death glare because if looks could kill I would be dead on the floor. Thank god they can't though.

But dang was Valeria cute.

Walking through the school hallways with my head held high I met Jayden at his locker. He didn't notice me as he was talking to Lilly. Whom I saw was hanging out with cupcake earlier.

I walked up behind him and smacked the back of his head. This act earned a few giggles from lilly.

"Hey lil' bro!" He said cheerfully.

I glared at him, I was not his little brother. I'm his twin brother for heaven's sake but he was just not willing to accept the fact.

"Not your little bro!" I said smiling sweetly at him.

"So did you apologize?" He asked ignoring my previous comment.

"No, not at all!" I lied which earned a glare from Jayden.

"It's none of your business what I do anyway." I say frankly.

He shook his head in both annoyance and disappointment I'm guessing, I couldn't care less either way so it really didn't matter.

"Taking the car home get a ride with someone." I said before walking out. Jayden pulled the hood of my hoodie yanking me backwards.

"No way! You get a ride with someone. Puh-lease!" He said like a teenage girl.

"You want the one with the car keys to get a ride?" I smirked while waving them in his face.

He shot me a dirty look before sighing, grabbing his bag, and walking to the boy's locker room.

Smiling in victory I made my way to the exit of this hell. But of course once again I had to bump into a very tiny human. I looked down to be met with the most stunning green eyes and realized it was Valeria. She smirked before looking up at me.

"Watch where you're going!" She mimicked, repeating my words from lunch earlier. I smirked. 

Two can play that game. 

"I-I-I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to. OH MY GOSH!" I imitated her in a very high pitched voice.

She turned tomato red before glaring at me well I guess attempting to glare at me cuz she ended up laughing. I joined and together we walked out. 

Waking into the orphanage I couldn't but smile at the encounter I had with Brooklyn's professional bad boy. 

Maybe he isn't that much of a jerk. I mean he did apologize.

My thoughts were interrupted by a high pitched squeal of a little girl. I grinned as she jumped into my arms screaming.

"V's home!" She squealed again holding me tight. I smiled at her and gave her a tiny kiss on her rosy red cheeks. Four other kids ran over to give me a hug. But Addi my cute little girl did not let go of me. I laughed at her actions and then leaned in to give everyone a group hug. 

I walked into the kitchen almost attacking my aunt in my huge bear hug. She smiled and chuckled before leaning in and hugging me back. She cupped both of my cheeks and planted a kiss on my forehead.

"How was your first day sweetheart? Tell me everything." She squealed like Addie before pulling out freshly baked chocolate chips made specially for me and sat down. 

"GO!" She screamed. I let out a small laugh before leading her through my entire day. I told her everything, the expected, the unexpected, the workload and pretty much all of it. 

The best part of talking to her was that she listened always. Making me feel heard and I loved her for it. 

After we all had dinner and helped clean up, I went upstairs to my room with Addie to finish some of my homework while she colored, and told me all about her day without me. She was the little sister I never had, and I couldn't even imagine anyone dare take her away from me. 

The thing about this orphanage was that the five girls that were here were all like sisters to each other, we were so close. No one wanted us, but we wanted each other. No one loved us, but we loved each other. Which is why, this orphanage was different compared to most. It wasn't even really an orphanage, but our own little family. Though called the New Hope Orphanage, it was our home, and no one here was up for adoption. We would stay with each other until the end of time. 

When I finished up my homework after at least 2 hours. I called them all down to the music room, where I sat at the Piano and they sat all around me. 

"What are we singing today?" I asked.

"Believe!" Emily shouted, as we all laughed at the twelve year old's obsession with Shawn Mendes.

"Fight Song!" Addie screamed.

"Castle On the Hill!" squealed Maddie, giggling.

"Okay, okay. We can sing all of them. We have a little bit of time before its sleepy hour." I answered as they all smiled excitedly.

So, that was how my first day of high school came to an end, seated in the middle of my family, singing, in the place I've come to love with everything in me, and the people who have taught me how to love.
