Ava's POV

"No ... no.. these are all wrong. All these files are miscalculated. You'll have to fix them before Diana lays on it or it's over for you," I said to Rick and his face was full with frustration. "Diana never says my numbers are wrong," he muttered snatching the folder from the desk and turning away.

"That's because she pities you," Deniska said coldly and he turned back slowly.

"Excuse me?" he approached her.

"You're a 36 , homosexual in the closet who still lives with his mother who constantly gets abused by her brother in law ... or fiancé is it now?" she said with a smirk and Rick's emotions were flaring.

"Deniska!" I yelled and her gaze wondered to me slow. "He challenged you," she said and then looked back at him. "Get out," she demanded and he glared at her for a few seconds and then walked away defeated.

She walked over to me and got in my face. "Diana would never let that shit slide. You're going to end up driving this company into the ground. Also ... you're not glowing how you used to?" she said and I scoffed, "Excuse me?"

"She didn't fuck you before she left?" she asked aggressively and I slapped her hard across the face. "Oooo ... you shouldn't have done that hot stuff," she said.

She grabbed me and I shrieked ... that's when Dmitri walked in. "That's enough Deniska! You're paid to protect Ms. Greene physically not her respect," he offended.

Deniska let go of me and looked at Dmitri. "I'm gonna go take a walk. If Diana doesn't fuck you I will," she threatened and Dmitri aimed his gun at her. "Oh please? Like you will," she teased and he shot right next to her foot.

"Wanna test me? You fuck up a chance at Derek Wynter you think our father is just going to let you walk... ? GO!" he commanded and she smirked. Deniska is obviously the more dangerous and level headed of the two. "GET OUT!" he boomed and she shook her head and let him have it.

They found evidence on Derek that has more to do it with his attack on me and Diana but against the entire Bratzi family. Then something with the code word Eliz. I'm not sure what role that has yet. Diana took a flight to Russia and the duration of her trip was supposed to be a month but it's been three with no contact and I was beginning to get worried by the second.

I assumed she was alive because she still had hands in the accounts and Dmitri keeps telling me she's alive just busy but some days even he seems off. Whatever she's doing I know it's been putting holes in Derek's plans.

"Did my sister scare you?" Dmitri asked and I shook my head. "Such a bad liar Ms. Greene," he chuckled and I glared at him. "I have to go to Feu Bleu," I said getting my things together. "I don't take orders from you Ava," he said and laughed. "Oh please don't. I would love for you and your sister to disappear and as you do that make sure Diana reappears so I continue with my life before all this bullshit," I snapped and he took a deep breath and said, "All this bullshit is actually my everyday life along with Diana's ... you just don't know it yet," he said.

"What did she go do?!?" I began to tear up.

"Oh ... you're in love?" He said pouting childishly.

I began to rub my tears away and he walked over to me.

"You have to have tough skin. Diana wants to come home to you just as much," he said and I could feel his breath tickle my face.

"I have to admit a part of me wishes she doesn't come back..." he mumbled barely audible enough for me to hear but I did...

My body froze. Is he-

"I know how it feels Ava to have someone hold you every night and then suddenly just disappear... " he said and we made eye contact.

"Dmitri I appreciate everything you've done for me and Diana but-"

His lips had already touched mine. His tongue intruded without warning. His breath tasted of peppermint ... his lips soft .. his touch gentle but dominant ... yet pleading to be challenged.

I quickly pulled away from him. "Av-"

"Dmitri .. no."

"You let me.." he argued.

"I ... I was confused and vuln-"

"Confused on why you have to fight your feelings for me in the first place," he interrupted. My mouth open and closed a couple times before I hung my head in shame.

"I'm Diana's ... nobody else's. That will never happen again Dmitri. She pays you to protect me ... you don't do it of your own free will! I WILL NOT BE MANIPULATED!" I stood up for myself.

He walked over to me slowly with pure motive to intimidate me but I knew he had pure venom in his mouth.

"Just for a second ... before you started trying to convince yourself of all that crap ... you started to glow... " he said and he began to walk off ...

"Oh and before you woke up Ava ... she fucked Alek's brains out all across this office, and the one in Feu Bleu ... and her dungeon. She got rid off Jennifer and Lucas and your ex idiot of a girlfriend Zay ... when's the last fucking time you've seen Robby's brother Twain?! Idk what you see in that women but if you can love her whole heartedly why can't you even try and like me..." he snapped.

There was silence for a few moments.

"Because she paid you to do it ... cuz she can't do it herself .. there was a motive behind them... it was for me. She had you kill them for me," I replied..

"I GET TRAUMATIZED AND SHE GETS THE PRIZE!" he bellowed and my stomach flipped.

"I was born into this you know Ava ... I wanted to be a vet," he said and walked out.

I ended up crying to myself. I was about to cheat.
