For as long as I can remember I have always hated my birthday.

I hate surprises, I hate the attention, and I hate the fact that I wasn't even suppose to be born. To most people it's happy day of celebrating, but for me, well it's just sucks.

" Rebel, come on wake up" A familiar voice says, nudging me gently.

I groan and pull the covers over my head, trying to block out the light.

My covers are ripped away from me, revealing Pepper standing on the side of my bed.

" What does it take to get any sleep around here?" moan, rolling over and pulling the covers back over me.

" Not much apparently, it's ten o'clock." Pepper answers jokingly, snatching the covers away again.

" What's with the outfit?" I sass, noticing she was dressed very nicely for a random Saturday morning.

" Just get up and come down stairs" Pepper says, turning around and walking back down stairs.

I get out of bed and remake it, pull on a sweatshirt, and go down stairs for myself.

I don't even make it half way down the stairs before Natasha, Clint, Thor, Bruce, Tony, Pepper, and Steve yell  "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" in unison.

I nearly fall down the steps from fright.

The kitchen was decorated with various balloons, streamers, and anything and everything that had the phrase "happy birthday" on it. I'm 99% sure Tony went and bought everthing at Party City.

" Happy birthday kid." Tony say, patting my shoulder.

" Uh thanks, but how the hell did you know it's my birthday?" I ask, more confused than annoyed.

" Your friend Jax told us, he's been planning this for weeks." Steve comments.

" Planning what exactly?" I ask hesitantly.

" Your party, of course!" Pepper says in a 'duh' sort of way.

" I'll kill him." I mutter to myself.

"Hmm, what was that?" Bruce asks, walking in from the living room into the kitchen from behind me.

" I'll have to thank him." I reply through my teeth.

I sit at the island, chatting with Natasha about her latest mission in Brazil while Thor makes eggs for the group. We eat breakfast together, chatting about whatever topic comes to mind.

Tony checks his watch half way through the meal before clearing his voice.

" Pepper, its getting late I think you and Rebel should go out and get her dress now." Tony says, like I was aware of this plan.

" My what? " I ask, hopping I didn't hear him right.

" Your dress, for the party tonight." He say, nonchalantly.

" Is this party the Met Gala?" I scoff.

" Better." Tony says, smirking.

I groan, dropping my head on the table.

***

" How about this one?" Pepper asks, holding up a light purple dress.

" How about no?" I reply back sassily.

" Rebel we've been looking for an hour and you haven't even seen one you like?" Pepper complains, plopping down on the dressing room chair.

" Well I'm not the one who insisted on having to wear a dress." I argue back.

" I know dresses aren't really your style but Tony went out of his way for you to have this party, the least you can do is show up and look decent." Pepper says.

" Are jeans and a teeshirt not good enough for you people?" I cried.

Pepper let out a long, exhausted sigh.

" Rebel please just help me out here, what's your favorite color?" Pepper pleads.

I pause for a minuet, thinking about my answer.

" Black." I state, crossing my arms like a child.

Pepper leaves the dressing room and a few minuets later comes back holding three black dresses.

" How about any of these?" She says holding all three out to me.

I take a good long look at each, just to make Pepper feel better I take the last one out of her hand and agree to try it on.

To my surprise when I turn around to see myself in the mirror I don't hate the way I look. The dress was simple yet cute; It was a black-mid thigh dress, with half sleeves and a scalloped neck line. I see Pepper behind me holding her breath, praying I'd just pick this dress so we could go home.

" Fine, I'll do this one." I say acerbicly.

Pepper almost shouts in joy, taking the dress from me and putting it back on the hanger to be checked out.

After checking out we get into the car and head home to get ready for tonight.

***

Slipping my dress on I look at my self in the full size mirror, giving a little spin and deciding this dress wasn't that bad. While studying myself in the mirror I hadn't noticed Pepper had walked in.

" Not so bad huh?" She says, startling me.

" Whatever" I reply, trying to act subtle.

She comes up from behind me, looking at me through the mirror.

" You look beautiful, black really is your color" she says smiling.

" Thanks" I reply back, not hating the compliment she had given me.

" But to really top this dress off I think we should add a necklace and some make up." She says, wagging her eyebrows.

"No, no makeup." I state.

" Come on, I won't go over board I promise" Pepper says, borderline begging now.

" Fine" I say, giving in to her persuasive ways.

Pepper lets out a girly squeal before racing out of my bedroom to go grab her make up. She returns seconds later bring in almost a suitcase size bag of high end makeup.

***

" Almost done..." Pepper says, applying mascara on my eyelashes.

" Done." She says, stepping back, looking accomplished.

She hands me a mirror so I can look for myself, I almost don't even recognize myself.

Note to self never trust Pepper when she says " won't go overboard" when It comes to makeup.

I won't lie, she did do a good job though.

Behind us Clint whistles, looking at me through the mirror as he passes my room.

" Shut it Barton" I snap, before he walks away chuckling.

" Are you sure this isn't too much, like will people recognize it's me?" I ask, turning around to face Pepper.

" It's the perfect amount, you look stunning." she says, pulling out a box and opening it to reveal a diamond necklace.

" Thats seriously not for me, is it?" I say, shocked.

" It sure is." She replies, draping it around my neck and clamping it closed for me.

I stare at the mirror In awe of the shinny jewelry placed around my neck.

" Thank you." I mutter, not really sure what to say.

" Anytime." She says casually, before fluffing up my hair.

She hands me a pair of black strappy heels, helping me put them on and stand up.

" I think I'm gonna need a walker to get around in these" I joke, trying to walk around my bedroom.

Just then Tony walks in my door way, stopping dead in his tracks.

" You...you look amazing, just like your mother." He says stunned.

" Thanks, but really is was all Pepper" I say, moving out of the way to reveal Pepper.

The couple exit the room together, to go get themselves ready for the evening.

The three of us all meet downstairs to get into the car, the rest of the Avengers were apparently already at the party. Happy opens the door to the limo, as all three of us get into the backseat.

***

We exit the limo as the chauffeur driver holds it open for us. Paparazzi was surrounding the large building, for privacy from the paparazzi I'm given a pair of dark sunglasses and Pepper and Tony stand on either side of me as we walk up the stairs to the main entrance.

The inside of the building is insane, crystal chandeliers everywhere, low multicolored lights, and just about every food you could think of.

" Lady Rebel, you look angelic" Thor says, dressed nicely himself.

" Thanks" I say, still a little overwhelmed with everything.

The rest of the team gradually makes their way to me, complimenting me on how I look. Then Tony finds me, introducing me to his business friends and what not. Once I manage to slip away from Tony I find myself by the bar alone.

" Rebel, oh my god.." I hear a familiar voice say, turning around to see Peter with his jaw hanging open.

" I look insane, don't I?" I say shaking my head embarrassed.

" No, no...you just look different, but like not in a bad way, I just meant-" Peter began to ramble.

" Parker, I get it, thank you." I say, laughing at how nervous he gets.

He blushes a deep shade of red.

" So, Tony managed to drag you here too I suppose?" I say, trying to start a conversation.

" No, I came here on my own free will, anyway its your birthday." He says

" Huh..., is it mandatory that you have to come to your boss's daughter birthday party?' I mock.

" Ha, I don't know but he invited me so I came." Peter said shrugging.

We stand their not saying anything for awhile, in till some comes up from behind me and wraps their arms around my waist.

" Guess who" A male voice says into my ear

Turning around I find Aulluver standing in front of me dressed in a tux, holding flowers.

" For you." he says, handing me the flowers and kissing me on the cheek.

Peter obviously was getting uncomfortable, making some excuse to have to walk away, leaving me and Aulluver.

" Does Tony know you're here?" I say, looking behind him to make sure no one was looking.

" Nope, I said I was a family friend." he said, taking a step back and looking at me up and down.

" And may I say, you look absolutely gorgeous." he compliments, pulling my waist to his.

I giggle as he brushes a piece of my hair away from my face before kissing me.

" Seriously, if Tony sees you here he'll kill you." I say, pulling away.

" Don't worry, he won't, it will be like I'm never here" he says smirking.

He pulls me onto the dance floor and instantly start twirling me around, making me think of the first time we'd ever met.

" Aulluver I-" I say, getting cut off.

A loud crash is heard and multiple screams cut threw the air.
