*Tony's pov*
The Avenger and I were all in the living room when we heard the front door open, I mentally let out a sigh of relief that Rebel actually came back.

Only she wasn't alone, with her was a tall, very skinny kid, with shaggy brown hair, and who was obviously older then her.

My parental instincts went into over drive when I saw that their arms were linked, she introduced him to the team and I, claiming he was her "friend".

Steve made a light coughing sound as an indication to look up, when I do I see them heading up to Rebel's bedroom, I knew if I didn't say anything now the whole team would give me shit about it later. So I tried to act like a responsible father, telling her to stay in the kitchen.

We continued our small talk but everyone was mostly interested in what Jax and Rebel were talking about, I really tried not to eavesdrop but in my defense they talk very loud.

When Pepper comes home Rebel introduces her to Jax, then she announces that dinner was going to be ready soon, Pepper was making her famous lasagna.

About and hour and a half later we all gather around the big table and start eating in awkward silence.

"So Jax, how do you know Rebel" Steve asked trying to break the awkward tension

"Well we met on the streets when Rebel ran away from another one of her foster homes" Jax said as if it was normal that Rebel would run away from her foster homes.

" was it normal?"

"Why did you run away Rebel" Pepper asked, I could tell the topic made Rebel uncomfortable because her eyes sifted back and forth and she tensed up.

"They uh-they weren't good matches for me" Rebel said awkwardly, like she was holding her breath.

"Shame" Natasha said between bites of her lasagna.

"So are you a street kid to Jax" I asked, I didn't really know if that would offend him, that's what Rebel called herself but I don't know if that is a universal name for their living situation.

Lucky he opened his mouth to speak, "Yeah sorta I have a foster family but I'd rather be with Reb." he said giving a small nudge to Rebel who smiled softly.

"So do-did you guys go to school together?" Thor question, Jax looked to Rebel to answer but she let him answer for her. "Well Rebel doesn't go to school but she's still the smartest person I know, and I go to Midtown High" Jax answer.

After Dinner Jax and Rebel claimed the couch and the T.V. so they could watch some movie that I'd never heard of. Jax and Rebel insisted that everyone should watch it, so we all stuck around.

Jax had his arms around Rebel and she laid her head against his chest.

Halfway through the movie I could tell Rebel was about to fall asleep, unlike Jax who intently watched the movie while rubbing Rebel's arm with his thumb. When the movie ended Rebel was passed out in Jax's arm, Jax scooted Rebel off his lap and bent down and kissed her on the forehead and said goodnight, which made the team squeal.

Jax stood up and told everyone else goodbye, then showed himself out. The minuet Jax walked out the door everyone started talking.

"Oh my god he's so cute" Natasha said in a girly voice, when she realized what she said she cleared her throat and straightened herself.

"He seems nice" Thor chimes in.

"Yeah he's cool" Steve adds.

"Seems like a pervert to me" Clint said, which made everyone turn around and start arguing.

"What do you think about him Tony" Pepper asks, catching me off guard.

"He's um-hes alright I guess" I say. I didn't really know what to think, he seemed to really care for her but maybe too much?

Once everyone was done sharing on how they felt about Jax we departed the living room, Steve picked up Rebel who was still asleep and walked her upstairs to her room.

Pepper and I went to bed, although all my thoughts were keeping me up, Rebel and I still hadn't had a real conversion. I barely know anything about her, which only made me feel more guilty than I was already feeling.

So then and there I decided tomorrow I'd try to converse with her, try to get to know her. Yeah she was a trouble maker but deep down I bet she was a good kid.
